TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Sword
  • Size: Two Handed
  • Length: 1.3 m total, 1.1 m blade
  • Weight: 4 kg
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Lightsaber Resistant: The process of imbuing the blade with the Force has caused the blade to become capable of withstanding lightsabers indefinitely, and indeed almost any conceivable force.
  • Shaper's Imbuement: As Caelag envisioned a blade perfect to shape her will into the world, the blade is a fantastic medium for Shaper-styled force conduction.
  • Imbued glow: The blade glows with a natural, yellow light, which intensifies while used during Shaping.
  • Specialized Seal: The blade and scabbard create a magnetic seal when sheathed, requiring the user (Caelag) to pass bio-metric scanners in both the hilt and scabbard to draw the weapon
Strengths:
  • Lightsaber Resistant: The imbued blade is capable of being used against both the average sword and a lightsaber.
  • Shaper's Medium: The blade's imbuement makes shaping through the blade exceptionally easier, allowing the otherwise ineffective abilities of Caelag to become useful in a straight fight. This enchantment will continue to make it easier to shape so long as the principle focus of the Force is flowed first through the blade itself. (Swinging the blade to create a 'wave' of fire or using it to direct the force through the user and into the ground are easy examples.)
  • Strong Blade: The blade is exceptionally difficult to destroy, due to the force imbuement.
  • Seal: The sword magnetically seals when fully sheathed, preventing the blade from being drawn unless biometric scanners in the scabbard and grip are confirmed at the same time.
  • Scabbard: The scabbard itself is a heavy, lightsaber resistant covering protecting the blade. It's also usable as a large club, if the scanner is not passed.
Weaknesses:
  • Heavy while sheathed: While usable without the scanners passing, the weapon is insanely heavy due to the oricalcum scabbard, making it unwieldy to the point of relative absurdity.
  • Two handed: The grip, designed for the length of two hands, cannot be effectively used one handed.
  • Force negation: Ysalimari, Voidstone, etc. can make this simply a heavy, durasteel blade with no exceptional uses.
  • Limitation: The force imbument to make the blade useful as a 'medium' means it does not enhance shaping that is not directly used through the blade as a focus point. Things such as using one's hand to project the force in a stream of flame does not become amplified by the blade, for instance, and is neither stronger nor any less taxing than normal.
  • Sealed blade: The blade cannot be drawn unless both scanners in the hilt and scabbard are passed. This means it is IMPOSSIBLE to draw the blade one handed. It also means it takes several moments to draw, even in combat.
DESCRIPTION

In the events of the Incursion, where a mad Shard (as Caelag would put it) attempted to destroy organic life across the galaxy, or at 'best' subjugate it, Caelag Vass was called upon to assist in the execution of a daring plan. To infiltrate the mad Shard Lord's recently discovered 'Machine' and put an end to his reign before it could begin. An event far easier said than done, however, as she found herself amid a band of misfits, Sith, Jedi, Imperials, and Droids who wished nothing to do with one another in the mad Shards' lair of games. Rather useless in the process of 'solving' the puzzles presented, she found herself desperate to help in the fight with an ever growing intensity, right up to when her party descended into the lair of the 'Mad' Shard Lord Onyx himself. With the merry band of misfits finally facing a foe they could physically fight, Caelag went to work doing what it was the High Colonel did best, providing the best sniper fire one could beg for. Over the course of the fight, her focused fire, in conjunction with the help of the collected group, brought the Shard to his end, and with him his plans, at the very least for now.

However, the woman had taken a rather painful session of Force Drain, and struggled to get herself unto a ship with the droid [member="HK-36"]. After her flight away from Tartarus, she spent a short stay with the Metal Lord, nursing herself until she could finally move herself without excessive effort or pain. It was upon arrival that the High Colonel, having finally decided to truly walk the path of a Shaper, was presented with two gifts, gifts from an anonymous benefactor of some sort, who she assumed to either be one of the team that had appreciated her efforts, but could not openly gift her anything, or a member of the Empire with an eye on her. In either case, the metal was described to her as rather lovely, and so she decided to have the metal forged into an appropriate symbol, and create a fitting blade.

A blade was fashioned, taking design of a longsword, and the hilt was fashioned to be properly symbolic of her status in the military. This blade was not fashioned out of oricalcum, but durasteel, while an equally beautiful scabbard was created out of the oricalcum metal. As Caelag and [member="Aster Rose Baelor"] worked together to learn of force imbument, and ultimately resorted to having their instructor imbue the blade, they realized that a blade capable of enhancing Shaper force techniques would be dangerous in the wrong hands. as such, electronic bio-metric scanners were put into the hilt and the scabbard, along with a magnetic seal. The scanners meant that only Caelag, with both hands, would be able to draw the powerful blade and use it to full effect. To anyone else, it would be a heavy, blunt club. This did mean that she required both hands to work for the draw, and the weapon's sheath meant that cutting ti with a lightsaber would take quite some time.

When blade and scabbard were finished, she took hold of the weapon, and smiled. This was the perfect shape of her will, created by several members of the Empire. Perfect, for one who lived to serve.
