An Interesting Market

- Ryloth -
She'd heard about an ore found here, not like regular ores. This ore was a hallucinogen, found in blooms around rocks rather than ore veins. It had been on the underworld market some time ago, during the days of the Galactic Empire, and was popular among decadent senators and the likes of such. Vosh found decadence to be disgusting, but she couldn't deny her own need of credits. Taking things when she wanted them was not always her best, or even an available, option. This ore was, at the moment, her best option for a quick credit. She had no clue if it was even still on the market, but that might work to her advantage if it weren't. Perhaps reintroducing it could bring more profit than she'd initially hoped. Either way, she wanted to get this done as quick as possible.

As her decaying Imperial corvette dropped out of hyperspace, a semi-arid and mostly beige planet presented itself in front of her. Ryloth, home planet of her people. She'd not ever been here, and she was unsure of her first visit to the birthplace of her species being a fetch trip for an illegal substance. She had to put aside her feelings about the matter, however, as like any sensible person, the credits were more important. She stabilized into a low orbit around the planet, readying her scanners to perform a planetary scan for the substance known as "Ryll." She of course expected others to be around, searching. After all, if she could catch wind of this substance, surely those who are more informed must also have heard...

Ryloth, a planet unseen by Lynn's eyes. A planet that seemed to have no purpose for Lynn Corerunner. That was until whispers travelled across the Galaxy of a Acolyte seeking to make a name for themselves by introducing a drug back into underground. This would quickly follow into the mainsteam which could not happen.

Lynn's X-Wing ripped through the atmosphere as she headed to the planet to stop this before it has a chance to grow. Her ship docked at the hanger being saved for her. She dawned her armour and place all four lightsabers on her person. She was created by the planet's security. "Master Jedi, we..." She smiled as the head of security spoke, " Please, call me Corerunner, I am not a Master. Do continue." The head of security nodded, "My apologies, we heard about your coming and have found three possible locations for the exchange." She nodded, threee was not ideal, but it was the best that could be done on such short notice. "Very well, I will follow the Force and stop this before it can do damage."

The locals were not pleased with her arrival. Vosh may have been Twi'Lek but to them she was foreign. Her red skin was ill-omened, and they treated her as such. She had been there for hours, trying to negotiate some sort of information trade-off on where to find the narcotic ore, but they were adamant. She became too frustrated to continue these foolish negotiations. Though she was sith, she was hesitant to resort to violence. Her mission here was already sacrilegious enough for a visit to her home world.

But on her way out, things changed. She was passing the last few houses of the village when a sharp pain stuck the back of her head. Turning around, she saw Twi'Lek children kicking the dirt and giggling. She shot them a glare, hoping it would scare them off, but it only encouraged them. As she turned around again, another rock struck her, and so she turned around, the frustration of her whole trip here culminating to this moment. She removed the lightsaber from her belt and turned it on, the deep and terrifying humming filling the air. The children became frightened, a few running, but most locking up in fear. She raised her saber, ready to release her frustration, when she felt something odd. Someone was approaching, and not just anyone. This person was a force-wielder...

Lynn walked through the busy city, a perfect place to make an exchange, but the presence wasn't here. She looked over the locations, studying them and mapping them out. She marked one off the list as it would not provide the person with a clean escape. She went to the first location, a local dive bar known for shady dealings, the most local spot if this was a run of the mill criminal. She took the hood of her dark blue robe and tossed it over. No need to draw attention, she needed to blend in.

She walked through the regular crowd, looking for anything and reaching out with the Force to find anything that was out of place. She saw in the back corner an illegal game of gambling taking place. While this bothered her, it was crime that seemed impossible to stomp out. She did see some Spice trading happening. The two people were talking prices and not paying attention to the goods. Using a bit of slight of hand, she swiped them. One day free of addiction might save them. When she left the bar, she flash froze the spice and tossed it at a wall shattering it. She may not have control of her ice powers yet, but that little something may have saved a life.

She looked at her map and figured there was only one more place to check, but it was so remote she had her doubts. She Moved through the city, a wind beginning to pick up. She could not help, but to notice how alive this city was. It would be a shame if drugs were reintroduced to this city. She continued her journey until it came to an end by a single crimson blade. She saw a female Sith judging by the blade brandishing it to some fear stricken children. The wind whipped around Lynn making her robes whip along with it. She did not draw a saber, not yet, she sensed this was only a display of power. This Sith was fresh, not fully given over to the Dark Side. It was not her lack of violence that showed her not fully Sith, but her need to hold power over children. A True Sith would not waste effort on something so below them. Lynn knew this and knew the children were not in danger, not yet at least.

While she did not draw her weapon, she also did not stand by and watch. She moved for the Sith, approaching with a calm mind. Whether an Acolyte or a Lord it did not matter to Lynn, she knew what she was capable of and what she wasn't and did not fear death or defeat. There was only the Force. She smirked, she was truly sounding like a Jedi now. She spoke over the wind, but did not yet, merely let the Force carry her voice, "Leave these children and planet alone. Your journey ends here. Surrender peacefully and I will work out an offer with the local law enforcements to get you a fair trial."

The presence made Vosh queasy. The woman's voice was stale to her, lacking noticeable emotion. This woman was definitely a Jedi. Vosh turned, her lightsaber left on, and faced the approaching Jedi. She removed her cowel, showing her crimson face. Though Vosh was not well-tuned with the Force, like any other Force-wielder she could pick up on basic feelings. "Hm..." said Vosh, her eyes trained on the Jedi's belt, which held a surprising number of sabers. "You do well, masking your emotion, but I can still feel it."

Vosh approached the woman, walking past on-looking Twi'Leks. In a display of her seriousness about what she was doing, as she walked past an adult Twi'Lek man, she cut him down in one fell stroke, an ear-splitting KRSSHHH filling the air as his chest was split open by the blade. Vosh smiled, looking directly into the eyes of this Jedi, and raised her lightsaber into her combat-ready stance. "Let's fight. I know you want to. You can't hide that."

Lynn watched, helpless to stop the senseless killing. She watched as the person before her approached attempting to use what was called a Dun Moch, or Sith taunt. Lynn's face still stayed emotionless, even cold. She didn't have to put on a show. The Twi'Lek's ran in fear of the killer while Lynn stood her ground. She looked into the killer's eyes, piercing.

"You are weak if you must kill the defenseless to show your power. If you are only strong to the defenseless then you have no strength." A true Dun moch, she still did not draw her blade, she did not need her weapon to fight the first part. She merely needed words. "You are no Sith, you aren't even a warrior. You lack discipline, now surrender before you lost more than your dignity." The air around them was beginning to chill as the wind rushed into them and around them.

"Funny," Vosh began. She had stopped now, and her cloak was rippling behind her. "I'd thought that a Jedi was in no place to judge who and who wasn't a warrior." Vosh took a step closer. "After all, it seems to be in your in teachings to let yourselves die meaningless and empty deaths." She was a few paces away now, her saber humming. She lifted it with her right hand, holding it so that the tip of the blade pointed right at the face of the Jedi. "Either you die here and prove me right, or you can stand your ground and just try to prove me wrong." Vosh smiled. "The choice is yours."

It was funny, sometimes Lynn even impressed herself. By all accounts, she was a Jedi and this Sith knew. What she really was, the Sith would not believe. What she was did not matter, she was here for two purposes. To learn how a Padawan fights and to get those drugs. She drew one of her lightsabers, setting it to standard length and ignited it's blue blade. The blade glowed so bright it almost appeared white. She performed the Makashi salute and then took a step back with her left foot so her right side was facing her opponent. He blade held in a low guard with the tip of her blade just barely touching the other blade.

She smirked at the female Sith, "Now, how about a lesson?" It had been awhile since she had last fought, this would be exciting. She only hoped it wouldn't end quickly.

Vosh was smiling now. She had been wanting to fight someone for a while now. She took her stance, her saber at the ready, and lunged forward with a downward slash, aimed at the woman's left shoulder. Her speed was remarkable, and noticeably expert for an Acolyte. Her blade trailed through the air, leaving behind a white-red path and humming violently. Through her movements, one might be able to deduce that she also hoped for a long fight, and one that challenged herself.

She moved....less than a foot as they were close enough to lock blades so deduction of her movements were simple. Judging by her slash she was using Juyo, a standard of Sith. Makashi was fairly different, it did not involve slashes, at least not very much. Lynn's defence was in a lower guard with the blade pointed up at an angle. She moved very slightly so she could angle her blade a bit and allow Vosh's blade to connect with the top of her blade and with the momentum is would slide down her blade and pass by her side. She could feel the heat from the blade as it passed by. With a flick of the wrist she would give a small smack at the Sith's exposed side. A warning simply to not make rash attacks if she wanted to win.

Vosh winced. Taking the slap to her side was rash, sure, but she now knew for certain that this padawan used Makashi. She dropped her brazen and clumsy Juyo to enter into her minor training in Soresu. She wanted to see how much this padawan knew. Her saber hummed, almost as if it were a symbol for Vosh's excitement for the duel. Its red blade cast sinister shadows acrossed her already crimson face. Her stature was strong and her feet planted, her saber was held in her right hand, the blade extending across her chest and out to the middle of her left arm which extended further with an open palm. It was the signature ready pose of Soresu, and she was all too ready to examine [member="Lynn Corerunner"].

To say Lynn was surprised her attack landed would be an understatement. She expected to deliver a warning, not actually deliver a strike, but the strike was very shallow. She used this opportunity to ready herself. With her left arm crossed behind her back her right arm came up in front of her in the duelist pose. She notice, in confusion, that the Sith took up the stand of Soresu, a primarily Jedi form. So much so, only master Sith duelists bothered to learn the form as it was worthless to a Sith. A defensive stance was primarily the Jedi way as Jedi rarely took the offense. To charge in was rash and showed a desire to fight. Lynn was a duelist and enjoyed combat, but she did not desire to attack or hurt someone.

She would not attack which would render a defensive style useless. This did, however, give Lynn the time to center herself. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again. With sincere words, she spoke once more, "There is no need to continue, you can lay down your arms and come peacefully. The Jedi will accept you and show you the way of the Light side where true power lies. Good always overcomes evil eventually."

Kyrel's TIE Advanced had dropped out of hyperspace over Ryloth. Kyrel was drawn here for some odd reason. He felt the clash of two force users from orbit. He had arrived here to perhaps explore the planet for Twi'lek slaves, but now that has clearly changed. He wished to see what or who it was,and so that was what he was going to do. He sent the TIE down deeper into the planet, the roar of the twin ion engines increasing as it descended into the atmosphere. The more he approached the planet surface,he sensed the force signatures. He sensed one light, and one dark and felt exhilerated.

He landed on the rocky outskirts of the city, hopping out of the fighter hatch looking around at the surrounding area to detect where it was coming from. He said excitedly through the metalic baritone of his vocabulater. "Jedi..And possibly Sith as well" He took a speeder from his TIE,and climbed aboard it. He zoomed past the rocky plateaus and cliffs to reach closer, and closer to the confrontation. It grew closer and closer with each mile.

He finally reached his destination and saw what appeared to be two females. One was clearly a Jedi while the other was a Sith. He grinned as he pulled his saber out merely watching the two. He wanted to jump in eagerly, but also wanted to observe the two. He watched closely studying them for now.

Vosh had learned Soresu from a Jedi who had passed through Nar Shadaa when she was fairly young. He had used sticks to teach the art of defending as a point for some Jedi teaching she'd already forgotten. Her brazen manner wouldn't usually allow her the patience to work with a defensive style, however like [member="Lynn Corerunner"] had said, she wasn't a sith yet. She knew the virtue of a defensive style when it was necessary, so she held on to that learning.

Vosh realized her fault in using a defensive style against a Jedi. She chuckled, and entered into the Makashi stance, her blade pointed outward from her body. "I don't like rigorous systems and protocol. Order disturbs me. I see only the dark side serving to meet my desires." Vosh caught herself. "And don't tell me I don't need desires. It's in every living thing's nature to have desires. Suppressing them is unhealthy."

Vosh stepped forward, using a quick jab with her saber to try and catch the padawan off-guard in their dialogue. This was a Makashi duel now, and she wanted to make that clear.

[member="Kyrel Ren"]

Lynn sighed, but smiled, "Order is in everything, if you want to become something you need to be in order to become stronger. Chaos is easily defeated. Desires are not bad, I feel joy, I feel happiness and I express it. The desires you avoid are ones that can lead you to pain. You may have the Dark Side, but it is not serving you, you are it's survent, it's slave and eventually it destroys it's owner. There has never been a Sith in all it's history who died of old age." She then sensed the newcomer and sighed. Now there were two, but the new one was just watching for now. Using the Force Lynn called up a second lightsaber and twisted it to the end of her current one. For now she would use the one lightsaber, but now with a two handed hilt. If the other attacked she would use her double bladed lightsaber. If things got really bad she would be forced to use Jar'Kai. An aggressive form, but effective against multiple opponents and Sith.

She dropped into a calming state of mind and let the Force flow through her and empower her. Her senses would fully open taking in everything around them. She felt one with the area and she would need the Force if she was going to come out of this situation alive.
