An Amicable Visit

Due to unsavoury rumours that had been spread about Alize regarding her past, it was not often that she was invited to the private residence of another for a personal visit. Because of this, it was not unexpected that she would feel nervous, bordering on anxious as she disembarked from the transport and onto the land that encompassed the Firemane villa.

Dressed in a knee-length floral embossed black dresshttps://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/cd/a2/0a/cda20af509a4ee0100f7ba6d7d1cc3fe.jpg with a contrasting white lace trimmed coat and a cameo pendant which hung off a row of white pearlshttps://cdn-img-3.wanelo.com/p/313/b2d/32a/4a85728006fc146f7c81887/x354-q80.jpg, Alize appeared as if she was on her way to a funeral or another melancholy event. Despite her youth, Alize had a taste for somber looking casual attire, often dressing with a monochromatic colour scheme almost as if she was in perpetual mourning. Accompanying her, dressed in a casual suit with a pair of combat boots, Frederick escorted Alize past the gate, the lush alpine garden and to the villa’s door.

Hand shaking, heart racing, Alize slowly reached for the doorbell and pressed it reluctantly. Frederick, who had sensed the tension welled up in his lady's body, turned to gently kiss the side of her head as the pair silently waited for someone to answer the door. Alize may not have excelled at playing the role of another’s lover but at least Frederick was able to act the part somewhat convincingly.

Alize and her companion would only have to wait a few moments, then the door to the villa opened. The pair would see a very beautiful, black skinned woman dressed in an elegant, but slightly brief white dress. Her name was Harmony and she was from a planet called Dahomey. Once she had been a slave, but the women who would one day found Firemane had saved her from her plight when they toppled the local warlord.

Seeing Alize, she smiled and gave the girl a polite curtsey. "Welcome to the Kerrigan-Alcori estate, Lady Rosenheim, Mr. Ashworth," she gave Frederick a nod. Harmony had been informed of Siobhan's suspicion that Alize's companion was actually a droid, but gave nothing away. She smiled brightly at Alize, hoping to set the poor girl at ease since it looked like her nerves were going into overdrive.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Please come inside. The Lady Kerrigan is in her study, but she's expecting you. I can take you to her," she beckoned the two into the villa and stood aside, giving them the room to enter. The reception area could be described as tastefully opulent, showing off the couple's power and influence without being too ostentatious. Of course, this was a fine balance to maintain. Grand entrance hall, beautiful and expensive looking carpet on the floor, a desk with a secretary ready to take calls. Transparisteel windows gave you a delightful view of the lovely garden and hills outside.

Riona was sitting with her mother in their study, she was in what they called: time out. You see, Riona was in trouble - again. The little fireball had not only been caught attempting to jump the property's gates on the raptor, again. She had also been caught climbing the Villa's walls. There'd been more than a stern talking to this time, no. She'd be stuck in the house for the rest of the day and so here she was. Pursing her lips together, pouting - her eyes still filled with her disdain for being stuck in the house.

She didn't know anything about dangers, danger? What danger? She laughed in the face of danger and then promptly runs behind her mother's skirt when anything so much as barks at her in the dark. Ah, Riona. Had no idea that she was just too important to be let loose like that. Or at least without supervision or someone to use their force abilities to catch her. She had a little coloring book but that was about it. She looked to her mother who was busy at her desk and huffed, and then huffed again loudly when she didn't get the attention she wanted.

Alize did not have to wait long before the doors of the villa were opened and the pair were greeted by a beautiful, ebony skinned woman dressed in an elegant white dress. "Welcome to the Kerrigan-Alcori estate, Lady Rosenheim, Mr. Ashworth," the servant smiled as she greeted the couple giving Alize a polite curtsey and Frederick a simple nod.

“Thank you,” she replied, returning the woman’s bright smile with one of her own, albeit tainted by a slight sadness - an involuntary act on her part. The ability to smile cheerfully and brightly was a skill Alize had lost after her abandonment of her home planet of Panatha.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Please come inside. The Lady Kerrigan is in her study, but she's expecting you. I can take you to her," the woman continued and beckoned the pair into the building. Entering the villa, Alize admired the reception area as the servant who had greeted them closed and locked the door. The room was tastefully decorated, displaying its owners’ affluence and wealth in a classy manner that was not gaudy in the slightest.

Upon her return, the servant guided the pair past the transparisteel windows where they were treated to an alluring view of a scenery of enchanting gardens and hills outside as they made their way to the study where the Countess awaited them. Once in front of the room, the servant opened the door for the couple who made sure to thank her before entering.

"Countess Kerrigan it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance again," Alize said, greeting the woman with a smile. Then, noticing the child by the Countess' side, she continued, "What an adorable daughter you have. It seems she was gifted with her mother's beauty."

The study was a mix of old world elegance and modern galactic innovations such as an encrypted hyperwave transmitter and access to her office's data networks. The room was dominated by an imposing desk made out of a rare Kashyyyk wood. Siobhan was seated inside a throne-like chair. Portraits of Tegaea Alcori and Adril Tythorin hung on the wall behind her, while a Wrodian carpet lay on the floor in front. She was wearing a very stylish and likely expensive, beige-coloured skirtsuit.

The Lady had been reading through some paperwork, after having just wrapped up a holoconference with some of her officers. However, she was not alone, for her adorable daughter Riona was keeping her company. Unfortunately, little Rio was a bit upset about being grounded. In all fairness, she had given her mother the scare of her life. Siobhan had been terrified when she realised what danger her angel had put herself in!

'"You don't have to huff that loud, I can hear you," Siobhan said in a slightly exasperated tone. However, she did not raise her voice. She tried to avoid that in the presence of her children. She was still getting used to having a little child around since she was used to teenagers. She loved Rio, but the girl sure tested her limits a lot! Due to her empathy, Riona might sense a bit of just how worried and afraid her mother had been.

"If you'd slipped just a little bit...you'd have fallen and hurt yourself seriously. Then you'd be lying in hospital for weeks. If you're a good girl, I'll take you to the beach tomorrow. We can spend the whole day together and have ice cream. But no Lacey riding."

It was then that Alize entered the room! "Lady Rosenheim, welcome to my home. I'm glad you could make it," Siobhan said warmly. The younger woman's comment about their looks made her smile. Being the polite hostess, she got to her feet and limped over to offer her hand to her guest. "You flatter me, dear. That dress looks lovely on you. This my daughter Riona Kerrigan. Riona, this is Lady Alize Rosenheim. She's a friend of the family."

Riona had been seated beside her mother, in her own, modest chair. While it was nowhere near as impressive as her mother's the young baroness watched in awe as the Lady Rosenheim was introduced. She blushed slightly at the compliment, standing to her feet. "Hello." She greeted shyly from behind her mother's skirt, fingers clutching to the seams. As she observed the interaction, something in her blood felt as if they had done this before. As if somewhere long ago, in her family's history lived a glowing ember of nobility. Her heart ticked at this as she carefully took a step out to stand beside her mother, the Countess Siobhan Kerrigan.

She wouldn't forget the point about going to the beach, but she thought to point out to the lady. "Lady Roshenhighm." Bless her heart she didn't stumble through it, she most likely butchered it, but alas the tongue of a four-year-old. Now crossed with herself, Riona was bound and determined to get this right. "Lady Rossen." Nope, that's not it, "Lady Rosenhim." Close enough. She tried to curtsey but nearly fell over. Squaring her shoulders the little noblewoman went back to climb into her chair.

As she sat back down in her chair, her heart told her that something about this whole thing was familiar. As if somewhere else in the galaxy, someone else was doing the same exact same thing. It made her wonder for a moment, about what auntie Coryth was here about before...

Alize smiled, careful not to blink as she took the Countess’ outstretched hand in a firm grasp and shook it. To hear someone called her ‘a friend’ touched her as it had been awhile since she had last been referred to by another with that word. “Thank you for your kind compliment and warm invitation, Countess Kerrigan. It is rare or us - or more specifically, me to be invited to the private residence of another,” she smiled and turned her eyes to the floor, embarrassed by the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes. The nomadic life she had led for the past few years was a rather lonely life even if she was not technically alone for a majority of the time as a result, acts of kindness performed by others towards her touched her immensely.

Hello,” the child the Countess had introduced as Riona said meekly from behind her mother’s skirt and moved to stand beside her mother. “Lady Roshenhighm, the young girl continued, mispronouncing Alize’s surname in such a cute manner it had caused the young woman to let out a chuckle as the tears that had lingered around her eyes rolled down onto her cheeks.

My apologies little one. Your pronunciation of my name was so adorable I could not help but chuckle,” she apologised and wiped the tears from her face. “I understand that my name is rather difficult to pronounce so you may call me either Lady Rose or Alize.”

Her daughter was so cute, adorable and shy. It was a remarkable contrast with the little girl who acted as if she laughed danger in the face, took a big raptor out for joyrides and tried to climb the villa's walls. Siobhan certainly wanted to boost her confidence. The daughter of Firemane's owners was bound to attract public attention, though Siobhan hoped to shield her from the media circus that came with the limelight. Her hands gently but firmly took ahold of Riona's tiny shoulders when it seemed like the girl would fall after trying to curtsey, then let her sit back down in her chair.

"There, you almost did it, angel," she said encouragingly, smiling proudly at her little one. "Alize is a kind woman and a friend. You don't have to be nervous around her. She won't bite. She's come a long way just to see us." She had seen the tears roll down Alize's cheeks and thus emphasised the words 'kind' and 'friend'. She did not want to draw attention to the younger woman's sorrow due to concerns about embarrassing her, but wanted to set her at ease.

"I hope your flight was pleasant, Alize. Would you like some refreshments? We can sit in the living room. It's more comfortable there. Rio, you can come, too." Hopefully being with the grownups would not bore the kid too much! She patted her daughter's little head.

However, at this moment another occupant of the Kerrigan-Alcori villa decided to show up. This one was an adorable furrball. The little furry was a Jester and his name was Grrbyrr. He had smelt that his mistress, Siobhan, was in the room and so he had immediately headed there, hoping for petting and food. Moreover, he had also smelt the scent of the new arrival. Waddling over, he gave her shoe a lick and looked at her with cute beady eyes. < Hungry > he projected telepathically as politely as possible!

Rio like any kind was a bit of a mystery, even to her parents. Before her arrival on Tygara she lived on Tabaqui where skills like running, jumping and climbing were things that were encouraged. She became a daring and adventurous girl for sure, the kind that lived for the outdoors, the kind that wanted to challenge the world and at the same time. "Lady Rose," Rio said quite easily. She beamed at her mother's encouragements and was probably more grateful that her mother kept her from falling on her face.

Yes! Living room, much better than the stuffy office. And then a wild Grrbyrr appeared! Rio squealed in delight, she loved that the Villa had so many animal friends! It was one of the many things she adored about her new home. She remained glued to her mother's side even as the little Jester bounded toward them all.

It hadn't escaped Rio's attention or empathic abilities of what Siobhan was feeling prior to Lady Rose's arrival. Had she been older she may have acted on it quicker, but as it stood now she was distracted by one fluffy-wuffy-pet. One that she wanted to pet but was also unsure of petting. Since they were supposed to be heading toward the living room anyway, Rio decided to get there ahead of them. As servants prepared freshments for their special guest, the young girl settled herself on her own little cushion along the floor.

A neat holder of art supplies and blank sheets to color on, the young girl entertained herself with the quiet activity.

The young woman’s face flushed a rosy pink when she heard the Countess refer to her as 'kind' and 'friend.' To be spoken of in such a kind manner gave her hope. Hope that she might one day escape her past filled with guilt and regret that had forced her from her home. “Thank you, it was pleasant trip indeed. Some refreshments would be lovely Countess,” Alize nodded and beamed.

Not long after she had finished speaking, a strange but adorable creature made its way into the room and headed towards the Countess. Excited at the sight of this creature, Alize held back a squeal of delight and surprise when it turned to approach her and softly licked her shoe. Then, as she locked eyes with the furry critter, an unexpected wave of hunger washed over her that disappeared just as suddenly as it came. Curious, Alize bent down to examine the furry creature. “What a cute animal, is it native to Tygara?” she asked, eager to learn more about it.

A wild Grrbyrr was everyone's best friend! Especially of your kitchen's larder. The little, but somewhat portly furball seemed to have concluded Riona and Alize were very nice - or perhaps he simply thought they'd be likely to give him treats.

So he looked at Alize with his big beady eyes and licked her hand, crawling into her grasp. < Me Grrbyrr! Brown-mane nice >> For some reason he had a habit of naming people after their hair colours. [member="Tegaea Alcori"] was the 'mean red-mane' because she was less indulging of him than others.

"No, Jesters are native to Kaeshana. I found him on my first trip there. Long story, but he walked up to me and tried to eat my shoelaces. Made the day a lot brighter after a frustrating diplomatic mission."

Before that day was over, she and Jedi Master [member="Phylis Alince"] had broken into the Eldorai's most secret archives and uncovered a secret that would shake the foundations of their civilisation if it was ever revealed. Naturally that was of little interest to Grrbyrr. "We transplanted many of his kind to Tygara to save them from extinction before Kaeshana was destroyed. His name is Grrbyrr. He's so cute, isn't he?" she gushed.

<< Love momma! So hungry >>

Siobhan sighed slightly, but the Jester was too cute for her to get cross. He'd just been fed recently! "Say please, Grrbyrr," she glanced to the living room, seeing that sweet, little Riona had made herself comfortable and was entertaining herself with art stuff. "Aww. My little artist is at work again? What are you drawing, sweetie?" she asked when she stepped in, gesturing to Alize to follow with Grrbyrr. "Feel free to pet Grrbyrr. He's very sweet and affectionate. Just don't let him eat all your biscuits," she joked.

((Feel free to bot Grrbyrr, servant girls etc.)

Riona had been entertaining herself, she was drawing a picture of Lacey. "Lacey." She simply explained although it didn't quite look like Lacey herself. The sentiment was there. The four-year-old hadn't forgotten about her earlier punishment and subsequently was drawing her desires out. "I'm going to draw a picture of you and mummy next." But for now, she decided that Lacey should have a hat and maybe hear some sort of sunglasses, and doodled that. Grrbyrr wandered into the living room all the same after having said his pleases and thank yous. He bounced toward the little girl, asking for pets, and Riona looked down and smiled.

Who was she to deny such a lovely creature attention? Riona began to pet Grrbyrr who was quite happy with his attention, and while the two exchanged some pleasantries. Bo'Sara a curvy, blue with darker blue almost black markings came into the living room. "Your worship, Lady Rosenheim, Mr. Ashworth," she greeted and even if he was a droid, she felt it rude not to include him, "and of course Miss Riona, might I get you all some refreshments? Tea perhaps? We've got scones baking away in the kitchen."

Alize chuckled as she received the jester’s thoughts. What a delightful creature! she thought.

Interested in these curious creatures, Alize nodded as Countess Kerrigan how she met Grrbyrr and subsequently transplanted the species jesters to Tygara to prevent their extinction.

He's so cute, isn't he?" the Countess asked.

Yes, very.” Alize replied as she bent down to pet Grrbyrr one last time before she stood up to follow the Countess into the living room where Riona seemed to be drawing something.

"I'm going to draw a picture of you and mummy next." The child said as Alize entered the room with her droid that she had temporarily forgotten as she was taken by the lovely family. It was heartwarming for her being in the presence of a loving family - something that was so different from what she had known and grown accustomed to.

"I can't wait to see it." Alize shot a warm smiled at Riona, before she being addressed by a servant.

"Your worship, Lady Rosenheim, Mr. Ashworth," a servant greeted the pair. ‘Your worship,' what a unique greeting, Alize thought, "and of course Miss Riona, might I get you all some refreshments? Tea perhaps? We've got scones baking away in the kitchen."

That would be wonderful, thank you,” Alize replied then sat on the sofa with Frederick sitting beside her. “Tygara appears to be quite a pleasant place, I regret not visiting this planet sooner.”

A little, green Lacey with a hat and sunglasses! That was, like, the cutest thing ever. "Oh, that's very sweet of you, my little artist," Siobhan said indulgently when Riona announced her next artistic project. "We gotta hang that picture up on the wall when you're finished. I'm sure Tegs will love it."

The hidden meaning behind the Lacey picture had not escaped Siobhan. But she preferred Riona drawing Lacey to her taking off and racing across the estate on the back of a raptor. Grrbyrr was very happy with the attention and purred, giving Riona's hand a lick.

"Thank you, Bo'Sara. That's very thoughtful of you," she responded to the Twi'lek, who was Riona's de facto governess. Siobhan liked it when people called her 'Your Worship'. As a matter of fact, she liked elaborate titles in general.

"Tygara is a world full of wonders, but also manifold dangers. Until recently, the natives thought they were alone in the galaxy. We've been trying to make the transition as painless as possible. If you want to put down roots here, I can help you find a place in New Santaissa or on the Skyport. It might be a good spot for an outpost for your company." Her tone was jovial and warm.

"There's soon going to be a soiree of sorts to celebrate our victory over the dark elves. It'll be hosted by the Eldorai Queen. It would be my pleasure to introduce you. Little Riona over here will have her official debut at the Court," she gave the little one a fond look.

Bo'Sara acknowledged with a smile, "you are most welcome, m'lady." The twi'lek turned and walked toward the kitchen, where the aroma of freshly baked scones wafted from and down toward where the ladies and Mr. Ashworth were sitting. A kettle was brewing and a little sandwich for the young Baroness was being prepared. After a few minutes, the kettle could be heard and then a tray was rolled out.

"There we are, scones, tea and for you a little sandwich," Bo was a little indulgent with Rio, who didn't like the crusts on her sandwiches and so they were always cut off. The sandwich was a simple sweet one of a hazelnut spread with her chosen jam. Napkins were abundant for the wee one, Bo ensured the table was well stocked, "did you need anything else, your worship? Lady Rosenheim, Mr. Ashworth?"

Riona continued to give Grr attention as she set her colors down and began to nibble at her sandwich.

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] | [member="Alize Rosenheim"]

That sounds lovely. It has been years since I’ve last called anywhere home so I must admit, I grow tired of constantly travelling around the galaxy. Although my knowledge of Tygara is limited, I would love to experience what the planet has to offer.” Alize replied, relaxing as the conversation proceeded. So this is what it is like to be in the company of a friend, she thought.

"There's soon going to be a soiree of sorts to celebrate our victory over the dark elves. It'll be hosted by the Eldorai Queen. It would be my pleasure to introduce you. Little Riona over here will have her official debut at the Court," the Countess said as she looked at her child fondly.

Surprised by her gracious invitation, Alize was temporarily at a loss for words. The Countess was simply too kind. “I would be happy to attend, thank you for the invitation, Countess Kerrigan. Little Riona must be excited,” she glanced at the child, smiling as the maid entered to set the tea and food on the table.

Did you need anything else, your worship? Lady Rosenheim, Mr. Ashworth?" the maid enquired to which Alize replied with simple "No, thank you," and a shake of her head.
Charmed by the adorable furry creature, Alize took a scone from the plate. "Grrbyrr," she called to the jester as she lowered her hand with the piece of scone and watched as the fluffy creature made his way to her to gobble up the contents of her hand.

"Are jesters available for adoption?" Alize asked, momentarily distracted by the animal's cuteness. "Is it recommended that they are kept in a house with a yard? If I am able to adopt a jester, I would prefer a place in New Santaissa that is jester friendly."

Siobhan gave her daughter a fond look while the little one nibbled her sandwich. Grrbyrr, looking rather hungry, was about to steal it, then she gave him a look. "No, that's not for you, Grrbyrr," she said sternly. The furrball looked a bit sulky, but then cheered up when Alize offered him a piece of scone, which he quickly gobbled up. He purred and looked at her with his big beady eyes. << Black-mane nice >>

"Jesters are pretty much hungry all the time. Or rather they think they are! The key thing is to feed them in small doses. Give them a big plate and they'll devour it, but become more demanding. A house with a yard is a good idea if you want a Jester-friendly home. There's a zoo nearby where you can purchase them at the pet shop. Fair warning: Jesters are very sweet and affectionate, but it takes them a while to realise what's edible and what's not."

She took a sip from her cup. "I'll make sure you receive a formal invitation to the soiree with all the necessary details, dear. My little Riona has taken quite a shine to the Ashiran Church's ceremonies. Little angel loved the choir, isn't that right, sweetie? Luckily for you, there'll be lots of music at the party."

"Mhmm!" Riona said quite excitedly, "and Sabrielle and Akyna go all da time." She then begins to talk about her friends, a lot. "Utana and Ravina are gonna be altah giwls," her speech slipped a little - still something they were working on with her teachers and governess. It happened occasionally not as much as when she first got to Tygara, but still it was there. The young girl began to hum words of the hymn she was most familiar with, "it's hard to kill, who knows what miracles you can achieve when you believe..." words were soft but the tune could be made out, "Bo is taking me again, right mummy?"

The little one looked at Grr, "silly Grr that's not your food, this is your food," she feeds the pet from a bowl after getting up to fetch it, "see that's fo yous." Tiny hands offered food to the jester. She looked up to the Lady Rose and asked, "you stayings in the city?" By city of course, she refers to New Santaissa, still - her eyes light up and thinks about having another 'friend,' to visit in the city. She looks back at her drawing of Lacey, "rawr."

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] | [member="Alize Rosenheim"]

Alize nodded as she listened to the Countess describe the nature of the jesters, having been quite taken with the creature during her limited interaction with the rather cuddly looking Grrbyrr and made a mental note to pay the zoo a visit once she had hopefully found a place where she could consider home on Tygara. The idea of living near her only friend seemed like quite an inviting idea.

"Thank you, Countess Kerrigan," Alize eyes gleamed brightly, something that seemed quite uncharacteristic of usually politely distant self who was almost doll-like in her expressions with her normally inexpressive eyes and turned her head in Riona's direction as she spoke.

A smile found its way onto her face as the child hummed a song she had never heard before - something she found to be quite cute. After the child had finished humming, Alize watched as the child fetch food from what she assumed way Grrbyrr's bowl and offer it to the jester.

"You stayings in the city?" Riona asked, looking up at Alize.

"Yes, I am," she confirmed. "I've booked a room at the New Santaissa for a couple of nights but now it appears that I might be in need of a more permanent living quarters in the city."

Alize handed the remainder of the scone to Frederick who way puzzled by what a mistress wanted him to do with it as she turned to the Countess again. "As I plan on calling New Santaissa home soon, I feel like I should ask, what is the state of the economy here? Since I will no longer be travelling around the galaxy on a regular basis, it seems like it may be a good idea to move my company's headquarters from Ession to Tygara for convenience."

"Altar girls, dear," Siobhan corrected gently. Riona's speech still slipped a bit, though she'd improved a lot since coming to Tygara. "Their mothers must be proud of them." She smiled when Riona hummed a song, then gave her a nod. "Yep, Bo will take you. Say hi to Eileithya from me. I believe she said she could come by to the villa on the weekend."

The adorable little Jester did not need extra motivation to dig into the bowel Riona had kindly offered him. Jesters had limited empathic abilities, and so Riona would feel he was very happy about her being so nice to him. << Like you >>

Siobhan turned her gaze to their guest to respond to Alize's question. "Regarding the economy, there was a period of austerity after the Exodus, but that's come to an end. So you won't have to worry about rationing, shortages and so on anymore. The economic situation is quite good and the Eldorai are eager for foreign investment and consumer goods. Our biggest problem might be that the city is getting too crowded, but there's been a push to build more smaller cities since the Xioquo's threat was banished. Unlike in Old Santaissa, there are no restrictions on where foreigners can live, but most still settle in the southern areas around the Lion's Gate spaceport. My office can send you more information on the real estate situation. The richer inhabitants prefer the central area and eastern plains, while the docks around the Argive Lake attract a more disreputabe crowd," she took a sip from her tea.

"Another point of interest is the Tirathana Skyport. Presently it's a hybrid between defence, commercial and residential space station. Many foreigners and elves have quarters there and it's a trade nexus. We'll probably strip it of its defence functions and assign those to a dedicated military station. Firemane owns a portion of the Skyport, so I could lease space to your company if you need it."
