Old School Sci-Fi/Fantasy Fan and EU Devotee!
Does anyone remember how Darth Nihilus was so far along the dark path that he literally became an inhuman monster and a Wound in the Force? That's a fun bit of mythmaking if ever there was any, I always thought. Here's some info for any who may not be familiar with the concept: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Wound_in_the_Force/Legends
Anyway, here's a fun concept I came up with a while back: what do you think about alternate forms/variations of the concept of a Wound in the Force's manifestation? Drawing from my love of classical Sword and Sorcery RPGs, here's a few cool concepts:
1. Sorrow-based - I've actually got a Sith Alchemist whom I'm going to eventually republish and begin refining, and he was a "Sorrow-based" manifestation of the Dark Side, gaining emotional debuff powers against opponents.
2. Sickness/Disease - walking, hulking abominations among the living, yet spreading death and disease wherever they went, and able to use the imbue Force powers with specific forms of toxic energy and microbial corruption.
3. Elemental - the death of a Dark Sider on an exotic locale during an extreme manifestation of Force power could imbue the dying Sith's spirit with elemental residue that is carries into death. A Darksider or Sith spirit of ice or lava or earth/mud, for instance, might be neat to work with. Even lesser-known forms of matter might work - a sort of "Sith Bone Knight or Sith Lich" that either worked with bones for some twisted reason or perhaps died in a battleground, and can only manipulate bones or appears associated with them in aesthetic appearance in life or in death, or has cool lore along with that "element", so to speak.
Also, what do you guys think about the Jedi equivalent - the opposite of the "Wound in the Force" that was never explored, at least to my knowledge? What sorts of great deeds could create a Jedi equivalent of Light Side "Flares in the Force" or whatever other cool title we could give it?
Thoughts? Is the idea cool or goofy, in your eyes?
