In a galaxy torn apart by endless wars between superpowers — empires, alliances, corporations, and whoever else is fighting this week — the real victims are almost always the same: the little people caught in the crossfire. Farmers on backwater worlds. Refugees on orbital stations. Entire colonies that become "acceptable losses" on some tactician's datapad.
This group isn't a faction. It has no banner, no high ideals written in a charter, and definitely no recruitment office. It's just a loose collection of individuals from every corner of the galaxy who have one thing in common: they've decided they're tired of watching innocents get slaughtered while the big players play their games.
Think Seven Samurai (or The Mandalorian's "Sanctuary" episode) in spirit — but the number isn't fixed at seven. It's however many people show up and stick around. Some jobs might have three of us. Others might pull in a dozen if the stakes are high enough.
Who we're looking for:
You don't have to be a saint. In fact, it's better if you're not. These characters won't always get along. There will be arguments about methods (lethal force vs. minimal violence, working with locals vs. keeping distance, trusting each other at all). Old grudges might flare up. Moral lines will blur. But when the shooting starts and civilians are in the line of fire, they (mostly) work together because no one else is coming to help.
The group is non-faction based and fully independent. We'll take jobs, respond to crises, or insert ourselves where we think we're needed. Stories can range from small-scale village defense to bigger operations against warlords, slavers, or opportunistic forces preying on the weak during larger conflicts.
