Private Alliance Of The Dragons

Laughter and gossip filled the huge lounge bar as the Cloudsinger soared through Bespin's sky like a bird. The huge pleasure yacht was open to any man or woman, regardless of species or standing in society. The only prerequisite that Radon knew of, was having a credit count of at least five digits. It made The Cloudsinger a haven for the rich; a place without law and no such thing as 'shady deals'.

But not all aboard the yacht were blessed with a life's worth of credits. Some among them were in heavy debt, having loaned credits only to spend them on alcohol, escorts and a trip on this beautiful yacht. His target was exactly that; a slippery man going by the name of Kelt Zahn. He was at least a million credits in debt to some very powerful figures. Figures who had the means to hire professionals for their dirty work.

It was the first time he worked alongside the woman who called herself 'The Alor of Clan Krayt'. Well, she had a lot to prove before he would accept her as his Alor. All the kid had going for her, was her heritage. And in his humble opinion, it was experience that made the warrior. Not one's heritage. Despite his initial aversion of the girl, he still decided to give her a chance.

"This is madness..." He commented, staring at the plethora of bottles lined behind the bar. Everything here seemed readily available; spice, deathsticks, alcohol... You name it, the bartender had it. "But it explains the returning customers." The Mandalorian in white remarked, eyes scanning the crowd for their target. "If we don't make haste the deathsticks will do our job for us." His gaze briefly shifted to the other Mandalorian, wondering how she felt about this place. It was in no way different from Coruscant or Nar Shaddaa's underworld, but he knew how unsafe those places could make one feel.

It was Raya's first time back in the game since the battle of Mandalore shook up her world and placed her at the head of her clan at least a decade prematurely. She was unprepared for the responsibility and it showed. The normally confident young woman became a shell of her former self when tasked with making any judgement as leadership. It was clear not all were content with it but in the wake of the battle it seemed many were willing to let it pass for now, though she expected to be challenged in the near future unless she could appoint a suitable replacement.

Still, there was some comfort from the sense of normality in work which was what brought her to Bespin with her fellow Clan member. She knew nothing of Radon but was still comfortable working alongside him though was somewhat intimidated by being his junior as she expected him to have experience over her that she was expected to have. However, she wouldn't display any weakness or hesitation as she knew she was expected to be a competent leader. Rather than get caught up in the semantics of the situation, she opted to treat the mission like any other.

Raya gave a nonchalant shrug, seemingly unfazed by the scene. "I can't say I'm surprised." She replied. While she hadn't seen a situation like this before, it wasn't hard to imagine after working under the ultra-rich a handful of times. "Yeah..." She agreed idly while her focus was seeing past people in the crowd in search of their target. "I'm getting a closer look." She informed Radon before easing her way into the crowd and weaving between people, trying to find their target. For those whose senses weren't yet dull enough, some were wary at the presence of Mandalorians and watched the pair with uneasy eyes.

While they had as much right to be there as any other, a place of riches was almost always accompanied by debt and some watched the purple-clad Mandalorian pass by with a look of concern, wondering if they had given someone powerful enough a reason to hire a hit-man but all sighed with relief as the Mandalorian passed them without trouble. For the most part, they remained unnoticed, with many too intoxicated on various substances. She hoped the same could be said for their target. It would render the mission a lot easier.

"Sure, do your thing." He uttered, eyeing the second level that hung over the bar like a balcony. Two stairs on either side of it led to this second level, which he suspected was meant for the VIPs. Most likely senators, monarchs or other beings in high places. For a moment he considered going up there, but it would be a waste of his time. Their target wasn't a highly valued member of society, so chances of him being there were slim.

There were two other ways out of the lounge bar. A decorated transparasteel turbolift gave access to the lower levels, which consisted of an onboard casino and a far more seedy drinking joint. Normally that would be where he'd begin his search but if their target's profile was anything to go by, it would be the last place aboard The Cloudsinger where they'd find him. Kelt Zahn wasn't some pathetic lowlife criminal. Was he scum? Certainly. But the man was also a cunning scammer. And scammers like him wouldn't let an opportunity go when they saw one.

Radon placed his hand against the side of his helmet, activating the secure channel he and Raya had established. "Look for desperate older women. Duchesses, widows, or anyone in a tight dress with a bored look. Zahn's most likely going to be near one of them." He spoke as he maneuvered through the crowd. He wasn't looking for Zahn, Raya had that covered. No, Radon was two steps ahead. The white warrior was already planning their escape.

There were a couple of support beams that acted as framework for the magnificent windows. They windows gave the guests a panoramic view of Bespin's clouds, but also posed as a vital weakness in the yacht's design. Radon made sure to pass three of the support beams as he moved through the mass of people, attaching a small device to each of them. It would give the two Mandalorians a bargaining chip, should things go bad.

"Have you found him yet? He asked over their comchannel rather impatiently.

Around the room people were gathered around tables, in booths or standing around as parties intercepted each other upon finding someone they knew. "Ok." She replied, taking Radon's advice and searching for that particular demographic among the crowd. Though it seemed to be a particularly large demographic to contend with as many women had come to the pleasure yacht funded by their husband's wealth, wherever he may be. "Chill out. Have a drink." She replied to her companion's impatient remarks. Whatever happened, there was no way Zahn was leaving the yacht so there was no need in rushing.

Her eyes fixated on a table ahead with two older women sat at it and sandwiched between them was the man they were looking for. "There. Two tables in front of the support beam second from the left." She informed Radon over the comms. "We can't just shoot him in a room full of people." She said as she kept eyes on Zahn to avoid losing sight of him. Raya looked down at her vambrace and opened the compartment to check which dart she had put in that day: Poison. If a path to Zahn could be cleared for long enough then the Mandalorian would be able to quickly dispose of the target without causing a commotion - or so she hoped.

"I can poison him but there are too many people in the way. Can you create a distraction?" She asked her companion, hoping he would be able to draw attention away from the area Zahn was in by some means. "Wait-" She started after their target stood up. "I've got it." She concluded before approaching Zahn casually, pretending her attention was elsewhere while she brushed past him and shot him with the dart as she did. Hoping to remain unnoticed while she got away, any hope of that happening was quickly vanquished as the high pitch scream of a woman alerted the room to what had just happened.

Most eyes in the room fell on the woman, though only some were sober enough to comprehend the situation. Raya quickly walked away from the commotion she had just caused and scanned the room for Radon. At first, it seemed like she had gotten away with it as she had gotten far enough away from the scene and the man's collapse looked like nothing more than a medical mystery but it didn't take long for someone to find the dart protruding from him and immediately the accusation fell on her. A voice shouted across the room and a finger pointed in her direction. "It was her! The Mandalorian!" A woman accused. "Haar'chak." Raya muttered under her breath.

"Way ahead of you." He retorted, having already found his way back to the bar. The grav charges he had placed would detonate the minute he deemed it necessary. It was his plan B, one he did not wish to share with Raya. She didn't seem like the type to appreciate a backup plan like this.

Then, the message he had been waiting for finally came. Raya had found their target. "Why not? What's stopping you?" He asked over comlink, as he signaled to the bartender. "We'll be gone long before the crowds stops panicking." He continued, simultaneously ordering a starfire 'skee for a surprisingly cheap price. When he turned to face the room again, ready to create the distraction Raya needed, she stopped him. "What do you mean 'I've got it?'" Before he could get an answer from the Alor, the scene unfolded in the back of the lounge bar. A scene that made him chuckle when the public started pointing fingers.

"Well, you had it for a good ten seconds there." The white Mandalorian commented before taking action himself.

The targeting systems of his HUD locked on to the signatures of the seven guards who rushed in Raya's direction. Without hesitation, Radon raised his arm, unleashing a burst of flames above him and the nearby party-goers. Apart from some small burns, nobody would be harmed. It was meant to scare the men and women in his vicinity, who naturally tried to run away from the danger. A few surprised screams and the blazing heat were enough to incite fear in the crowds. They came rushing in Raya's direction, creating more and more chaos as they moved. It was a major obstacle for the security forces.

They were not done yet, however, as a door behind him slid open, revealing a small militia of type-1 security droids. The white warrior cursed under his breath, reaching for his holstered blaster. "Raya... I think it's time we leave..."

Raya didn't respond to Radon, her focus on how to proceed. Her next response came after completing their goal to which she uttered "Yeah, well... Let's just get out of here." If she had been more familiar with Radon, she would've been more defensive but aware of the image she needed up uphold as Alor now she opted for the diplomatic approach.

However, the situation soon began to spiral out of control when 7 guards were added into the mix, though thankfully were occupied by Radon who managed to incite movement from the crowd. She pushed through people stampeding her way to rejoin her ally. By the time she neared him, she could see a small squadron of droids behind him and without hesitation she drew her blaster and begun firing. "How do you propose we do that?" She asked as she was unable to see a way out of the situation without fighting their way out.

There was about to be fighting on all sides as she felt her shoulder knocked forwards by the ping of a blaster bolt against her armour so she whipped around to return fire to the guard who shot at her, trusting Radon would cover her from behind. It would be unacceptable for civilians to get caught in the skirmish so she was wary of where she was firing. She didn't want Mandalorians, or her clan, to get a bad reputation but she didn't know what moral code Radon followed.

As two more guards approached, one deflected her blaster bolt back to her with something that looked similar to a shield emitter, which she moved to take it on the armour covering her abdomen as it was headed in Radon's direction, the kinetic energy from the bolt knocked her back a step but she soon activated her own shield emitter to deflect any rogue bolts while continuing firing, aiming for the weak points of their armour.
