  • Superior Armament - Twice the firepower of its little sibling, the Imperial IV-class Star Destroyer, the Allegiance IV boasts amazing ship-destroying capabilities; able to destroy multiple smaller vessels at once. A pairing of these with proper escorts would be devastating on the field of battle against other weaker fleets with vessels of the same class and size.
  • Nigh-Impenetrable Shielding - The only thing on this ship more powerful than the weaponry is its three layers of advanced deflector shielding, much like that of the INV Pellaeon. The triple layered shielding can sustain an inordinate amount of damage from a number of ships before the reinforced hull is made accessible. Truly remarkable Imperial engineering is.

  • Vulnerable Aft Section - Ironically, on a destroyer that can obliterate smaller ships in seconds; the amount of weaponry on the aft section, where the large ion drives are located, is laughable. A total of sixteen laser cannons, as well as the shielding, are the only defenses present on the exposed stern.
  • Slow Maneuverability - A trait that has become commonplace in most Imperial vessels; the Allegiance IV lacks maneuverability and speed, with a complete about-face taking up to an estimated minute or two. This can easily allow nimbler enemy ships to get behind the vessel, where there are barely any weapons.

With the construction of the Admonitor-class Star Dreadnough, the INV Pellaeon, completed and the Battle of Serenno all but a decisive tactical victory for the joint Sith-Imperial forces against the fledging Dominion. The Imperial Navy realized the need for a much stronger variant of the Imperator IV Star Destroyer, with the discovery of the Silver Jedi Order's gross overuse of flimsy but heavy-hitting 'cap-busters'. They decided to bridge the gap between the Imperator and Praetor lines with the revamp of the lesser-known Allegiance class.

Most literally, the Allegiance IV at a glance just seems to be a larger version of its sibling, retaining the mighty dagger shape of the Imperial Navy, but underneath it is so much more than that. With the size increase, the armaments have been doubled, permitting the crew a vast array of versatile weaponry used both for capital-ship and starfighter engagements as well as controversial planetary bombardments. With that being said, a leaf was taken out of the Imperial flagship's book and three layers of some of the best (within reason for a destroyer) shielding that the Imperial Department of Military Research could design was installed to envelop the entire ship.

Unlike other Imperial vessels, the Allegiance does not feature a ventral hangar bay nor does it have a contingent of combat starfighters, instead opting for extra armor protecting the reactor bulge on the bottom of the ship. This would be a weakness if the ship wasn't designed to be used primarily with escorts, which may in fact have their own compliment of fighters. Ironically, one hundred and sixty point defense laser cannons make this ship a decent screening vessel, forty flak cannons also present for anti-missile duties.

Unfortunately, a vessel such as this comes with two crippling flaw. It's speed not too bad, but it's maneuverability suffers tremendously; making it much slower compared to ships of the same size. This coincides horrendously well with the light amount of defense comprised around the aft section, meaning that smaller, specialized cap-busting vessels could easily move to behind this vessel, where its vulnerable ion drives are located, and begin wrecking havoc.

An entire fleet of warships is what it (figuratively) takes to overload all three shields in order to access the reinforced hull below. Truly remarkable Imperial engineering is.
The notion that it requires an inordinate amount of damage to reduce the three shields to zero is acceptable, but adding the vaguely specific (specific in regards of the unit, vague in regards to the number) detail of needing more or less an entire fleet of starships firing on the ship in order to penetrate the shields is too much.

Please remove the quoted portion below:

If you would like to reword this to something along the lines of: The triple layered shielding can sustain an inordinate amount of damage from a number of ships before the reinforced hull is made accessible. That would be fine.
