All Our Yesterdays

[Ra'a'mah]

Even though her face had remained mostly neutral, she did give Jim a smile when he mentioned walking off the food they had just eaten. The people here knew who she was so Ra didn't need to worry about actually paying a bill. Standing up and stretching a moment, she grabbed her cloak and put that on.

"Lead the way my dear."

That smile remained and going off her previous comment about the rain, there was a slight twinkle in her eyes as if she knew it was going to rain.

Jim got up, she smiled the whole time as she grabbed her cloak. Could this be a good thing? Jim calculated his moves very carefully.

“Shall we?” he pointed to the door with a smile.

The wind blew as they walked outside, it was nice when they arrived, however it was slowly but surely getting cloudier, maybe it was going to rain. The crowds of people in the street became a lot smaller so it was relatively quieter out.

“So any first missions planned for us once I’m on the payroll?”

Nodding when he asked if they should get going. They walked outside together and she noticed the weather had turned like she thought it had. Not having checked the weather it was just their luck it was going to rain on them a second time.

"At least the temperature hasn't dropped much and don't need to worry about snow."

The crowds had died out as the weather changed, people to went work or home so they she and Jim were pretty much alone. He asked about any planned missions and Ra shook her head slightly.

"It's not so much about missions anymore. More about making contact with new people, opening trade routes and making deliveries or pick-ups. Not much action which is fine with me. Lots of job security though. Let's get your ship cleared, then we can talk business."

Not one to suggest anything, Ra wanted to feel like a couple. Hold hands or walk arm in arm, but didn't want to make that move.

Jim saw something in Ra’s eyes as they continued walking and talking. It was a sort of glimmer that he’s seen in her golden eyes once before... on Naboo. It was right after they had kissed during their picnic. Was it meant to be? Was Ra actually interested? If Ra denied him right here and now would he be able to handle it? What if she kissed him would he be able to handle it? If he didn’t make a move when she clearly wanted something, would he be able to handle it? Thoughts swirled in his cranium as he thought of what to do, but, suddenly in one unconscious moment he extended his hand out and grabbed her hand slowly.

“Well it’s this way... don’t want to, y’know, lose ya.” He chuckled sheepishly, as the crowds thinned around them.

As if Jim could read her mind or feelings, she felt his hand take a hold of hers and she smiled. When he said he didn't want to loose her, Ra almost said something but bit her tongue before she did. Instead she spoke something else entirely.

"I think it would difficult to loose me now."

Her own thoughts whirled around as well as her emotions. ​A new one had started crawling around in her and she didn't know what it was. Not ever having been in love or ever had anybody tell her what it was like, Ra had no clue what it was...

"Better get moving or we're going to get rained on...again."
