PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
The first and most notable feature of Alessandra Sylaar is the utter control she exerts over her every movement. There is no wasted effort, no hesitation or uncertainty. She carries herself with the utter conviction that where she is right now is exactly where she is meant to be. That conviction expresses itself most clearly through her peridot eyes; sharply focused as if absolutely scouring something with her gaze, dissecting it in her mind. Ash gray hair frames her pale skin and the dark makeup around her eyes. She wears close-fitting clothing that betrays little of the body beneath, functional attire that moves easily and protects well. While most of her hair is kept short and neat, she keeps a single long braid growing in the Chandrilan fashion, ornate clasps and small lovely gems woven within, rather in contrast to her generally austere appearance. She is tall for a woman, a trait accentuated by her good posture and sharp, narrow features.
INVENTORY
Lightsaber, with a curved duelling hilt and a fiery orange blade.
Personal Energy shield emitter.
HISTORY & PERSONALITY
Raised as the daughter of a Sith Lord, Alessandra's life began as one of comfort and privilege, with little understanding of the efforts of her father to secure their place in such a dangerous society. After the death of her mother during the Hyperspace War, her father stepped away from his life within the Sith Empire, leaving it behind to join the High Republic. For Alessandra, little outwardly changed - she remained comfortable and well taken care of, her father's professorship and numerous connections allowing them a relatively easy transition. The greater struggle for her was the change her mother's death wrought in her father.
While he had always been passionate about the necessity of strength and order, the loss of her mother had turned his fiery rhetoric into a crystalline focus, and he left behind the chaotic struggles of the Sith Empire for a new task: Helping build the path for the restoration of an ancient organization known as 'The First Order'. Aloof from her fellow youth from her intelligence and upbringing, the schools on Naboo provided neither comfort nor challenge for the precocious Alessandra, private tutors took over the task of her education, taking her from simpler subjects like engineering and chemistry to hyperspace mathematics and political science. Her incisive mind, which so cleanly separated her from her fellows, gave her an outlet for the love she had for her father, a way to finally show him the love she knew little of how to express: She embraced her father's philosophies as if it were her own religion, reframing the world she experienced in terms of social hierarchies and power dynamics. She carries this utter conviction into everything she does, applying herself to every task she deems 'worthy' as if it were a personal commandment from her father, and as if failure were the blackest of sin.
Outwardly, she comes across as shy and aloof, her stoic mindset and elegant posture a fortification erected around her difficulty interacting with others. She surveils the interactions around her like a predatory bird, watchful of a threat or an opportunity to strike. Unfortunately, this distance has limited her social contacts to her father and her tutors; structured, organized interactions that allow her to utilize her intellect in lieu of social graces. She is a mistress of etiquette and formula, but when cast adrift into more nebulous interactions she becomes quiet and focused, desperate for a chance to sort her partner into a more comfortable box of expectations.
Her conviction and intelligence has cursed her with a certain brash impetuosity, a difficulty restraining herself when she is convinced that she is right and her opponent is wrong; and opponent they must be, for her very sharply delineated worldview has simply parted the world into two categories with an impassable gulf between: There is Order, and there is Chaos, and nothing may exist between them.
Her greatest secret is her father's dream: She sees a world enlightened, tamed into comfortable structure and bereft of uncertainty, where every person knows their place and is content with their lot. She believes in this world as fervently as any faithful acolyte in their own Religion, and would go to any length, pay any price, to see this world made real. Only her father's emphatic desire for secrecy restrains her.
When given the chance, she often takes on personal missions in her father's service, utilizing the talents taught by her other tutors: Her expertise in Form II and utter fearlessness in battle, turning her into her father's blade in the dark, a scalpel turned loose against the forces of Chaos in the Galaxy.
