GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Alderaanian Self-Determination Front
  • Classification: Organized Political Movement
  • Affiliation: The People of Alderaan
  • Organization Symbol: The acronym in red over a monochromatic, stylized outline of Appenza Peak against a pale yellow circle outlined in red.
  • Description: The ASDF is an anti-monarchy, anti-Jedi, pro-democracy political movement that opposes membership in the High Republic and seeks to abolish the monarchy and prohibit Jedi from holding positions of influence and power within their government.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Sanctuary Coast, Alderaan
  • Domain: The Front is a fluid organization that is primarily concerned with winning the hearts and minds of the Alderaanian people and driving against the perceived corruptions and failures of the Monarchy. While they have a sizable following across the planet, they primarily operate within Sanctuary Coast, where they are suspected to have a hidden base and sympathetic safe houses.
  • Notable Assets: N/A
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: The Front is led by an anonymous individual known as the Reticent One, who operates through indirect communication with local organizers. Beyond that, there is no strict or codified organizational structure.
  • Membership: The Front claims several million sympathetic supporters. However, only a few thousand are considered activists, and within those thousands, only about a hundred or so are fully dedicated operatives with ties to the Reticent One, and none appear to know their true identity.
  • Climate: The internal nature of the organization is secretive to avoid infiltration. Full-time members are expected to risk their reputations, careers, and even lives in pursuit of their political activism.
  • Reputation: The organization is well supported by those who oppose the monarchy. However, many conservative and traditionalist citizens view the Front with skepticism at best, and as outright terrorists at worst.
  • Curios: Members often wear patches depicting the Front’s symbol, or, barring that, red and yellow arm bands.
  • Rules: Generally speaking, the movement opposes political violence except in self-defense. However, vandalism and sabotage are fully endorsed. Members are expected to oppose the monarchy.
  • Goals: Abolish the monarchy and replace it with a democratic system, and reject membership in the High Republic. Ban current and former Jedi from holding government and diplomatic roles.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Alderaanian Self-Determination Front was founded sometime after the fall of the Galactic Alliance by the merging of several smaller political movements across Alderaan. Organized and led by the Reticent One, the Front believes Alderaan’s monarchy is inherently corrupt and poses a risk to Alderaan’s self-determination.

Many within and supportive of the movement see the King, a trained Jedi and former Chancellor of the Galactic Alliance, as responsible for the Alliance’s collapse in what was largely viewed as a war waged between the New Jedi Order and a Dark Jedi-backed Imperial insurrection. His sudden return has radicalized the movement. Additionally, some fear the Jedi for their ability to influence the mind and manipulate the senses, questioning how such leaders can be trusted not to abuse their power.

By abolishing the monarchy and removing Jedi from positions of influence and power, the movement seeks to replace the old, traditional system with a democracy that enshrines anti-war ideals with a constitutionally guaranteed right to self-determination, free from the influence of larger galactic governments such as the High Republic.
