A pastoral favorite, blue bread is a staple of Alderaanian cuisine, particular in the region of Chianar. The bread is made from skycorn farmed on Alderaan, from which its famous blue color is derived. The skycorn is ground into fine cornmeal, which is then mixed with flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, creamed skycorn, nerf butter, cooking oil, and a beaten egg. The mixture is then baked until it acquires a bread texture, usually for around thirty minutes. The cornbread is then served warm, sometimes with melted butter or honey drizzled on top.
