Alderaan Incursion

A surprisingly shrill yawn would escape Ace's lips as he walked through a spaceport upon Alderaan. It was strangely busy today, people were rushing in and then flying out, eager to leave the unfortunately vong-formed planet. Despite the state the planet was in, the youthful looking Captain still liked to visit, seeing as it had been long gone during his time. Ace was far older than he appeared, he even remembered the day that Alderaan had been destroyed by the Empire. It was strange, but nice to have it back for a change. Still donning his dark blue suit crafted from coynite, the super soldier would make his way towards one of the terminals, ready to check in and check out on a Republic military shuttle. It had been a long day for him in the mines, and he was about ready to return to the frigate he commanded.

Exchanging a few word with the spaceport officials, Ace would begin to make his way towards the docking bay, running his hand through his short blond hair as he prepared to leave the planet. It had been quite a crazy day, and the man was glad it had ended on such a quiet note. Or so he thought. Suddenly, an explosion would shake the buildings foundation, a large section of a nearby wall being blasted to pieces within moments. Screams would echo throughout the establishment as blaster bolts began to sail within, the blasts debris doing well to hide the attackers identity temporarily. Almost out of sheer instinct, the man would begin to rush towards a group of civilians, quickly pointing them towards exit points so they could evacuate safely.

The staff of the spaceport and some of the Republic officials on hand would begin to engage the enemy, even more blaster bolts flying through the air. Even so, the criminals would begin to take the upper hand, stepping within the building as they gunned down more people. Knowing he had to join the fray, the Captain would reach around to his back, pulling the pyronium shield out just in case before activating his military mobility energy field. Breaking into a sprint, Ace would begin to dart across the room, heading towards the criminals at full speed. They were flabbergasted, unsure whether the man was insane or just confident.

They'd find out soon enough, for the Captain's arm would thrust forth, releasing his circular shield as he threw it forwards on an upward curve. The gang of four would hesitate before opening fire, their leader's weapon being smashed right out of his hand as the titanium shield collided. Any bolts fired his way were either dodged or absorbed, his enhanced speed and technology rendering him safe against the petty thugs. Sending his fist forward, the super soldier would knock out the leader with a single blow, causing the man to fly backwards onto the ground upon impact. From there the battle would continue, most people having been evacuated long ago. Though, Ace wouldn't be surprised if there were some stragglers.

Ilia stood silent she could see the snowcapped mountains in the distance, that beauty of Alderaan had not been taken away by the process known as vong forming.

But she had heard while here that the world of Alderaan was healing itself, the expectation was that with minimal interference much like the Hutt worlds that Alderaan would once again be as lush and beautiful as it had been before, a decade was a short time. She was happy for those that wanted to live here.

It would seem whether it was the force or just the strong genetics of this world that Alderaan was not meant to pass once more into the darkness.

She pulled her shawl tighter around her, winter was coming. She had never seen snow she had hoped to find someone who could take her to see it. But none had such adventure in the blood.

There was still fear that what was out there would take whatever life it could find.

She smiled warily but understood.

A few minutes would pass, the battle within the spaceport raging on relentlessly. The pirates that had arrived in hopes of hijacking some vehicles would be disappointed, for their games had been put to rest thanks to Ace and a few others. A few second after throwing his shield, the man would lift his arm and stick it into the air, the strap of his tool of defense fitting snugly around his hand as it looped around and back into his grasp. From there, the Captain would continue, bashing with his shield and smashing with his fists, not stopping until those that had done wrong lay bruised on the ground.

Indeed they did, for Ace would begin to secure their limp bodies, gathering them into a single spot before making sure their hands were bound with cuffs. A sigh would escape the super soldier's lips, seeing as there was a lot of paperwork to do. He'd have to stay behind a bit longer on the planet. It was a drag, but the man also saw it as an opportunity to do many other things, for he had only been on Alderaan for awhile and still wanted to experience it to the fullest. It was a beautiful planet, and wasting the time he spent here would be... A waste.

Stepping out into the streets, Ace would do his best as he talked to the crowds, explaining the situation and how it had been dealt with. From there, the Captain would leave, striding along the walkways as he headed for one of the Republic outposts. Turning a corner, the young looking man would fail to notice and react quick enough, as he lightbuly mped into someone who had been rather still. It seemed that Ilia Basu had been gazing off towards the mountains, Ace didn't blame her. There were many sights upon Alderaan that could captivate, the soldier thought, as he examined the woman before him. "Apologies, miss." He spoke, hoping she would excuse him.

Ilia froze where she stood the moment she felt someone brushing against her. Her instinct to move away was strong she nodded slowly, “It’s ok I’m not hurt” she laughed, like such a small bump could actually cause harm.

No, it couldn’t.

She calmed the nerves within her that screamed RUN.

She turned now to see look upon the man who had bumped her. He was an officer of some type she did not recognize the insignia but this was not a noncommissioned officer, least she did not believe so.

“Are you evacuating citizens still?” She asked quietly yet clearly with a small hint of her accent showing. She had come across many citizens were who leaving she had not heard many of the comments made but many feared the creatures and plants that inhabited Alderaan right now.

Who could blame them.

A brief laugh would escape the man's lips as [member="Ilia Basu"] spoke, his body shifting backwards as he stepped away slowly. Ace knew he hadn't hurt the woman, he had been more concerned with his display of rudeness at not noticing her right away. Their little collision did little but provide a reason to strike up conversation, which was most definitely welcomed by the Captain. Watching as she turned, Ace would smile warmly to the woman, remaining quiet as she began to speak once more. So, she had heard and/or seen the commotion at the spaceport, that was most unfortunate.

Ace hated it when things like that happened, even more when innocent lives were lost. Knowing there was little he could do about it, the super soldier would push the thoughts from his mind as he now spoke up. "Fortunately, no. Everyone made it out relatively safe," he began, knowing few had died. Few was more than enough. Picking up on her slight accent, the man's brow would furrow in curiosity, having never heard it before.

"You don't sound like you're from around here. What brings you to Alderaan?" He would inquire, figuring she had gotten the bad end of some info. Not many people traveled to Alderaan nowadays, given it's condition. Even so, the sentimental value and beauty of the planet did not go unnoticed. By some, at least.

What brings her to Alderaan? “I had hoped to come sooner to see the lush world that it had been.” She looked sad for a moment, “Unfortunately my timing is off, but I hear that the world is healing and that in time it may be possible to look upon the plains and mountains of Alderaan once more”

She turned now to look at him he was most definitely a soldier of some kind. She saw no indication of what military he belonged to, Alderaan she did not believe had a military, but perhaps after the Sith invasion that changed.

“Have you traveled outside of Aldera City?” She had heard some did, she had heard many did actually but getting around was not as easy as made to believe. It was treacherous actually.

She looked up at him, into his eyes could always tell about a person in their eyes.
