Alcoholism Awareness Week

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
--------------------------------

Dear [member="Cait Sandusky"],

As part of the Alcoholism Awareness Week, we are celebrating the launch of our own line of vintages, designed to get alcoholic people premature symptoms of acute alcoholism, alcohol withdrawal or delirium tremens. Our vintages come in two varieties: lum and mead. Lum has lower alcoholic content and is recommended for those who just want to induce alcohol allergies, and mead is for those who want the more potent effects, up to delirium tremens. Get your orders in, while supplies last!

Janick Beauchamp
Owner, Utai Magic Circle

--------------------------------

After her sortie on Skor, where she somehow was able to make blueberry milkshakes that can make their users levitate for a few seconds at the cost of brittle bones, she returned to Utapau for Alcoholism Awareness Week, where word of her alchemized alcoholic products made the talk of the system, with clients often wishing to get people to acknowledge a dear one to an alcoholism problem, most of the time, but sometimes they may have more sinister aims. But the limits of the supplies in the message she types in the datapad are very stringent: a half-barrel keg of lum or, alternatively, six cases of 12 standard mead bottles, for the whole week. Luckily she can do it to the tune of 2 ml of blood for every sixth-barrel worth of alchemized alcoholic beverages. Even then it's well below her safe blood outflow to even alchemize both of those in a day, but she can't do anything else in terms of alchemy for the day if she decided to do both at once.

Dearest Janick,

Ya please, give me some of these cases. I'd like to set up a long term contract to buy and procure half of your production as it comes out. Credits will flow from my hands to yours so long as the product keeps selling.

Let's say to the tune of one year and then revisit this. Is there anything of note that would make this product sell on the open market?

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
So [member="Cait Sandusky"] was buying half the supply of the drinks? It is only a question of time until Cait realizes that it amounts to buying from a do-it-yourself microbrewery and that she will have to set aside one full day for the production of alcoholic beverages per standard week. One 2 ml venipuncture dose of blood was enough for one sixth-barrel lum keg or two cases of mead, so she had to take six blood tests when on a day to alchemize drinks. She responded to Cait, and she would probably think that the recipient of the message would be in for an unpleasant surprise if Cait learned that there were very limited supplies of the alchemized lum or mead...

--------------------------------------

Dear [member="Cait Sandusky"],

The stocks you are referring to are highly limited: for this reason, while they can be sold on the open market, alchemized lum and mead are considered luxury products with masterwork craftsmanship. As such, the agreed stock amounts to seven cases of 12 standard 341ml lum bottles and three cases of 12 standard 750ml mead bottles per week, to be delivered in weekly shipments. However the ability to spark the need for alcoholism treatment in the people who drink those drinks is priceless, so you can sell it as a luxury cure for alcoholism. Please let me know where to ship the alcoholic drinks and the first week's shipment will be underway, alongside with the bill.

Dear Janick,

That sounds great! Please ship them to Naboo, hangar 66. If you have any more upcoming Products I would be very happy to invest in them and grow your business. I like to acquire unique stuff! Also I can provide shipping contracts if that's what ya need.

---------------------------------

Dear Cait,

In two or three days you shall receive the first shipment of those alcoholic beverages, at hangar 66 on Naboo.

Janick

---------------------------------

She could envision the lum or mead fetching a pretty penny among the upper-class people whose families may have a drinking problem. Naboo, hangar 66, noted, she thought, while she was busy alchemizing all that delicious lum. And she emptied the content of a whopping seven cases of 24 lum bottles into the keg, for her to bottle afterward and put into 12-bottle cases. A day or two from now [member="Cait Sandusky"] will receive the cases filled with lum and mead, respectively, with "Fragile" labels applied on them, since they still had the traditional glass bottles on them.

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
The Fragile labels were pre-emptively applied on the crates even though she was to alchemize the bottles for the first time: it has occurred to her that she now has enough skill in alchemy to go around doing Sith swords, she could now go apply similar techniques on bottles, rendering them chemically inert and lightsaber-resistant, with the twist of thermal insulation, whom she realized also came with the territory of the Sith sword. She somehow had enough Force-energy to go around and use the blood spray on each batch of bottles, on top of the boozem and she needed to have the bottles arrayed in a circle while the booze was being brewed and homogenized in their respective kegs. Of course she had headaches from arraying, while not spending her Force-energy just yet. But that did not prevent her from trying to alchemize both sizes of bottles, using similar methods to the alchemizing of swords, to give them the three properties she desired in the bottles, that she dubbed Utai Safe Bottles. She had to alchemize the bottles first... so she started infusing the dark side into the transparisteel bottles, using the maid's blood, with the largest bottles closest to her and the lum bottles in the outer rings.

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
Slowly but surely Janick would accumulate headaches as the dark side is infused inside the several dozen bottles being alchemized, and stop infusing the dark side once she is confident that there is enough dark side energy in each bottle to do what she wants it to do, all three effects she knew were present in Sith swords, and which she knew that weren't specific to alchemized beskar. Now was the time to put the bottles in the cases, and then she shall be able to repeat the process but with the kegs' respective contents this time around. Except that she will be much more tired once the content of the kegs is fully alchemized to the specifications. She will be done for the day, so the maid can go bottle the alchemized booze while she rests, and also take care of the shipment of the allotted quantities to Hangar 66 on Naboo, using the shipping services that can actually ship stuff from Utapau to Naboo: 3 cases of 12 mead bottles and 7 cases of 12 lum bottles.

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
Prior to the maid actually shipping the bottles to Hangar 66 on Naboo, as agreed upon by the contract binding Utai Magic Circle and Cait, Janick wrote another message, realizing that she has little energy left and that the headaches from alchemizing all that stuff, all that booze for the week, are going to take a while to fade, so work on that holomessage to be sent to Cait will be a little slower than her usual rate. Nevertheless, it was only fair that she would notify Cait as to the special offer coming out of the first batch, a special offer, if you will. An acknowledgement of the fact that these bottles are special and may not be delivered again:

----------------------------

Dear Cait,

Before the first shipment arrives, I have to let you know that this particular batch is a platinum edition with Utai Safe Bottles. These Utai Safe Bottles are alchemized transparisteel bottles whose properties are identical to those of the blades of Sith swords, capable of resisting the most reactive or corrosive substances as well as resisting lightsabers, making it able to handle liquids up to 1500 degrees Celsius and beyond.

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
Once that message was sent to Cait, letting her client know of the special properties these bottles held, Janick fell over, exhausted, in her bed, while the maid was simply taking the crates to the cargo delivery company in Kessil's spaceport, using the speeder that the maid kept in reserve for those functions and to run errands for Janick and the like around Kessil. Also, since Janick allowed the castle to be used for couch surfing and that the maid slept in the same bedroom - albeit on different beds, with four bedrooms each rented with double occupancy, to let the castle pay for its upkeep (and perhaps even get some backup source of revenue should the workshop's fortunes ebb) she failed to notice the other occupants spying on her maid that got some crates of alcohol moved out of the castle. In the meantime, the speeder laden with alcohol finally got out of the castle's garage and off to the spaceport it goes, where it awaited pickup by the local mail handlers, to be handed over to either an independent spacer or a spaceline flying from and to Utapau.

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
Meanwhile, Janick's maid waved its way across Kessil, from east to west, using the speeder, and, as usual for spaceports on lowly-populated planets, there were no real traffic jams leading to it; good luck getting to Spaceport Derretowa without encountering a traffic jam unless going there at night. With its hefty bottle weight fragging down the whole speeder, it took a while for the Utai maid to get the cargo to the spaceport and, once there, she needed to have the valet pick up all ten cases, which were all pretty heavy, but the mead ones much more so. With that said and done, the cases were placed in a conveyor belt towards the spaceport's cargo handling area, with the fragile labels on each case, where they awaited to be taken off-world and delivered to Cait, where hopefully they will arrive to their intended destination and then Cait will start actually selling these alchemical drinks in alchemical bottles for the first shipment.

"Here's your waybill number, which you may use to track your shipment to Naboo, hangar 66" the valet told the maid, with the extra labels associated with that particular waybill being placed on each case.
