BIO:

It would be difficult to completely express in a single journal entry the enigma that is Alara Slayn, nor would it do justice to her story to attempt to compress it into anything less than a book of its own. Suffice to say that the half-Ysanna, half-Morellian near-Human was barely into her teens when she was discovered by the Sith for her remarkable Force Sensitivity and her karmic propensities for hate, anger and the like. Prior to that, she'd spent a life aboard starships as she was shuttled around with her father - at the time a Morellian Enforcer policing the trade lanes across Wild Space.

Even very early on, Alara Slayn showed promise. Her fair skin and firebrand red hair were exquisite features that attracted many admirers, only then to be crushed and manipulated by her paralleling cynicism and Machiavellianism. At 18 years of age her eyes already showed the yellow-golden glow of the Dark Side's taint, and thanks to the cruel diligence of her masters, was already well versed with the philosophies of the Sith, not to mention the ever-crucial Sith code.

Over time she would come to have penchants for deception, underhanded tactics and as well as lightsaber technique - referring to the former two as the bread and butter of pragmatism, and to the latter as a vehicle for self-improvement and learning to thrive in contention. In her spare time she is a noted bookworm and analyst, who spends time writing commentaries on Sith literature and historical texts, and amassing knowledge on a wide variety of topics. Recreational activities seem to indicate she has a bit of a gambling problem - with slugthrower roulette and Pazaak also being favorite pastimes when there was money to be made but no good reason to kill.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES:

+ Analyst: Alara is a master logician, capable of reasoning, deducing and analyzing on scales most leave to computers and droids. Coupled with her erudition in the fields of history, electronics and the sciences, she becomes a walking computer.

+ Ysanna: Being Ysanna, Alara possesses an especially strong connection to the Force. She is able to pick up on Force abilities rather quickly, and can tap into this unique racial attribute to enhance her Force Powers. She is also able to tap into the Force to redirect projectile velocity and trajectory mid-flight. With added concentration, she can even curve shots around turns and corners.

- Bitter: It is very hard for Alara to see sentient life as anything other than groveling or self-serving. Due to this, it is especially difficult for her to make friends, and even harder for others to stand her brooding, overly cynical worldview. She's quick to see the worst in people, and finds difficulty in characterizing contacts by way of anything other than their flaws.

- Nihilistic: Save for some personal interpretation of the Sith Code, Alara's opinions of life are that it all boils down to self-preservation and animalistic natural selection. This makes it very difficult to get her behind any cause grounded on more altruistic principles, and even more difficult when arguing with her on possible, more diplomatic alternatives to "machine gun politics" or outright underhanded foul play.
