Description: Built from the chassis of the stealth Yutan fighter-bomber, with its original engines replaced when the cloaking device was removed, the Alakaha is borne from the need to conduct high-speed bombing missions after a run-in with the Qektoth, but bureaucratic entanglements with the Outer Rim Coalition made the project harder to realize. Its light HVCs were replaced by electromagnetic plasma cannons due to their limited ammunition being a liability in combat. Compared to a run-of-the-mill bomber, the Alakaha is faster and even capable of flying at the speed of an A-Wing (regardless of whether it is equipped with tow cables or not), thanks to the tensor field generator that allows it to maintain structural integrity while performing high-speed maneuvers. However, due to its speed, only experienced bomber pilots should attempt piloting it, with two-seater versions available for training pilots, whereby one instructor would be seated at the back and the student at the front. Thanks to its waste heat recovery devices, firing the weapons allow the other systems, such as avionics and life support, to drain less power from the reactor in combat. Also, the Guernica bomb bay allows it to drop even the heaviest of known fighter-mounted ordnance without it being exposed in transit.

The Alakaha is not without its weaknesses, though: the nature of the side-mounted electromagnetic plasma cannons makes it so that its thermal signature becomes too great for a flare to be practical to use for twice as long as it is fired, that is, up to 6 seconds if the EM plasma cannons are fired for the maximum of 3 seconds. In addition, thrust vectoring has its limitations when its two engines are close to each other: it renders the maneuverability of the Alakaha essentially the same as that of a standard X-Wing. Finally, an enemy point-defense coming up against the top or bottom of the craft would find it rather easy to fire at.

Hyperdrive range: 5,000 light-years
