OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Akhiliikh
  • Designation: Non-Sentient
  • Origins: Batva’s Underground
  • Average Lifespan: About 50 years
  • Estimated Population: Planetary
  • Description: A large insectoid creature with black chitin shell, and large mandibles, and luminescent blue eyes. Some are wild, and those are much bigger, while the domesticated ones are the relatively small size.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I Atmosphere
  • Average Height of Adults: Domesticated: 2 meters tall Wild: 4 meters tall
  • Average Length of Adults: Domesticated: 3 meter long Wild: 5 meters long
  • Skin color: Black chitin
  • Hair color: N/A
  • Distinctions: Black, with bioluminescent blue eyes, has pronounced mandibles, ten legs, and an acidic spit.
  • Races: Wild and Domesticated. Wild Akhiliikh are much bigger, and live in hives throughout the Underground of Batva. They are not docile at all, and highly territorial of their hives. Domesticated Akhiliikh live in pens built by Batvadan tribes, and are generally the smaller and more docile form of the species with a less potent acidic spit. Those kinds of Akhiliikh are also used as mounts, food sources through meat and eggs, as well as their chitin being usable for armor and weapons when they die.
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensative
Strengths:
  • Communal “Society”
  • Protective Chitin
  • Acidic Spit (range for wild is 3 meters, while range for domesticated is 1 meter)
  • Large enough to be used as mounts. The less potent spit from the domesticated Akhiliikh can be harvested for weaponized usage.
  • Used for many purposes (Batvadan food, armor, weapons and tools, and travel)
Weaknesses:
  • Unlikely to survive on other worlds due to evolving to live off of the unique flora and fauna on Batva. Other worlds are likely to be extremely inhospitable for the Akhiliikh due to the potential food sources being completely foreign to the creature.
  • Meat and eggs are poisonous to non-Batvadans. That makes them only a menace to any outsiders to Falmoora trying to survive in the wilderness.
  • Severe sunlight sensitivity due to evolving underground (potentially deadly for Akhiliikh).
  • Few population galaxy-wise (it can not be found anywhere else other than Batva, making it very prone to extinction if a foreign power decides to exterminate them on Batva.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Omnivorous, as it will eat whatever it can to survive, much like its domesticators. Despite living off of much of the glowing fungi across the habitable portion of Batva, Akhiliikh typically hunt in packs for food where they consume smaller insectoid species, as well as any Batvadans (or any sentient outsiders) that wander into the locality of their hives unprepared.
  • Communication: They communicate with each other using pheromones, as well as clicks and grinds of their mandibles. The Batvadans use similar clicks and grinds to command domesticated Akhiliikh livestock. However, such mimicking of clicks and grinds does not prevent wild ones from attacking.
  • Technology level: N/A: Animal species
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A: Animal species
  • General behavior: Akhiliikh in the wild live in massive hives where drones scour the local area for any food to feed the hive. There are no queens, and all males and females can reproduce. However, as usual for animal species that are highly social, the largest and strongest of the hive will become a dominant alpha. Wild hives are filled with either food storage chambers, egg laying chambers, and sleeping chambers that are all burrowed into the rock walls of caves throughout Batva. Meanwhile, domesticated Akhiliikh are constantly tended to by their Batvadan masters. The lives of these types of Akhiliikh are much like that of any livestock. Their masters feed them, try to cure any ailments they can, breed them when needed, and utilize whatever resources they can get from the creatures. The Batvadans use Akhiliikh eggs and meat for food, their chitin for weapons, tools, and armor, and even use some of the large ones as mounts for war or travel across their world. There are even cases of the Batvadans jury-rigging traps and other small structures out of Akhiliikh chitin from the domesticated members of the species.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Akhiliikh were originally endangered on Batva during the ancient golden age of the Batvadan species. However, once the Batvadans declined into the savage barbarian tribes seen today, the Akhiliikh began to make a comeback in population numbers across the wild Underground on Batva. The various Batvadan tribes began to domesticate a few of the Akhiliikh and over time a divergence happened between those who the Batvadans kept as livestock, and those that remained wild. The wild Akhiliikh remained as large creatures, while the smaller ones the Batvadans were able to capture eventually were bred into a smaller and docile form. The Batvadans managed to create armor, tools, and weapons from the chitin of dead Akhiliikh after some of their original tools and weapons began to degrade and were now no longer being produced; whether said chitin came from captive or wild Akhiliikh is the question. The Batvadans also ate the eggs and meat of the Akhiliikh for food. Usually they are not butchered, which makes Akhiliikh meat a Batvadan delicacy. The meat is usually harvested by the Batvadans if the Akhiliikh died of natural causes, or if the Batvadans killed a wild Akhiliikh. As a result, Akhiliikh eggs are more commonly consumed, with a few that become incubated to make future broods of Akhiliikh for a given tribe to be able to utilize the animal in the future. Another use the Akhiliikh have provided for their masters, is that they can be used as combat/travel mounts. Very often Batvadans would ride the largest in the Akhiliikh brood into battle, or to traverse the Underground’s landscape with ease in order to visit other tribes or to forage or hunt in the wilderness quickly.

Hey there Niransh Binzra . Always love a good insectoid. There's one thing though. These creatures being limited to one planet isn't really a weakness, and it would be preferable for strengths and weaknesses to be more evened out. Also, you give it the strength of being able to be used as a mount, but the domestic versions are only a meter long (roughly 3ft) and half a meter tall. While I could se the wild ones being mounts with there size, the sub suggests the species uses the domestic version.

As you can tell, I'm not well versed in how large things are with the metric system.

In all seriousness, the measurements can be adjusted easily.
