To create a powerful, yet weakening tool for Daemos and any whom best him
Development Thread:
~ http://starwarsrp.net/topic/18743-mining-on-apatros/ ~ (Cortosis thread)
~ Obtained Cortosis From Owner ~
~ Crafting the weapon (the thread may yet continue, but not in regards to the crafting of the blade) ~
Manufacturer:
Model: Ak'hanz'a Tur'ohna (Sword of the Night) / Tantibus
Affiliation: Damien 'The Hammer Northstar 003' Daemon / Tera Lush
Modularity: No
Production: Unique
Material: Impervium - Cortosis - Lushien Black Oak - Armorweave - Alchemical Fear Poison
Description:
Being a commoner of Tera Lush, and a seeker of power, Damien sought out a weapon rumored upon
the planet. Through first one man, he gained a meager knowledge of the possibilities. Next, another mark confirmed and denied the basics he had ascertained.

In the end it was concluded that though yes the blade had once existed, it did not any longer. However, the hilt of the once great weapon did still in fact remain. Thus he sought it out, obtained and repaired the ancient wood. Then it was simply about utilizing the Cortosis obtained upon the initial death of Zaiden James-Greyson. Crafting the blade was a difficult process, being alchemically enhanced to be nigh indestructible, from already dense Impervium. Next, upon crafting he had to carefully leave behind slight grooves in the blade to allow his own variant of Fear Moss Poison to coat it whenever returned to its sheath.

The Fear Poison, dubbed so simply by Damien, acts swiftly upon entering ones bloodstream, being enhanced through the Force, it builds a deep fear and anguish nigh instantly. Over time the effects worsen, causing deep shaking, vomiting, and eventually death brought on by heart attack. The effects can be countered by those trained in controlling their emotions, and FU's, but only for a short while - this in itself being very taxing. As well, the poison is very resistant to heat, but not wholly. If the cortosis is worn, and Lightsaber combat is commenced, it can survive a single strike and still be useful.

To end it, the edges of the sword are layered with a lining of Cortosis. This is to enhance its already great deadly capabilities, by making it capable of short circuiting Lightsabers thanks to breaking apart during contact and deactivating them. Though because of the length and overall girth, the overall usage is slowed, with maneuverability lessened as well. Also after repeated strikes, the blade will require another coating of Cortosis as the brittle metal shatters upon contact with solid objects and plasma alike. Though there is quite a bit to utilize, this isnt always a crutch, but a hindrence as it adds more weight.

Classification: Longsword
Size: Two handed
Length: 180 cm (Blade: 150 cm)
Weight: 8 kg
Special Features:
~ Lightsaber Resistant
~ Deactivates Lightsabers
~ Fear Poison

I've been wondering when someone else would find Fear Moss Poison. While I like it's integration there are some definite issues here. Firstly, your cortosis thread has no link. Secondly, this sword is far too large to ever be used in one hand. I considered scolding you on your weight, but a blade that long would be around 5-6kg, and add Sith Alchemy and 8kg isn't unfeasible. It does mean that you'll never be as fast as a man with a lightsaber however, and I'd like that represented in the description. The biggest issue I see however, is the Cortosis on your blade. Refined Cortosis, while being very energy resistant and turning off a Lightsaber upon strike, is an extremely brittle metal. To the point where any sword made out of it would literally break upon hitting something. Vibroblades are made out of a Cortosis-Weave, which is naturally more resistant to physical damage, but doesn't turn off a lightsaber blade.

I can, and will make the requested edits in the morning. 4 am here lol.

But, the reason for this post is to toss out, yep. I know that Cortosis is brittle. Someone, i believe Jon, once told me in its normal form its so brittle it would be ridiculous to be used solely for gauntlets. The actual Cortosis is going to inevitably chip away.

Eventually I may add another thread reapplying it, but currently im fully aware - and accept - the downsides of the cortosis as is.

Also, on the thread mention, im not sure whats going on with that. I edited it, twice, and it still just shows with the words minus the link. Probably will post the thread just as the link itself instead of the coding.

Sigh. Meant to be signed in as Damien.

And it makes me quote my own post when I make edits? Fail.

[member="Valik"] I believe thats everything:

-Removed the one handed portion
-added the link
-Gave a mention that the weight/length would make speed slower and maneuverability far less

Though thanks to the length and overall girth, the average person that wields such a blade is likely to be slower than others, with more difficulty maneuvering: unless a Czar Warrior wields it, or any like enhanced warrior.
Everyone is going to be slower wielding it.

Furthermore I'd like mention of re-applying the cortosis after each fight, namely each fight where you hit anything.
