After Mandalore fell into the hands of the Sith Empire, Ki'an sought to create a weapon that could give them the edge in defending their planet so he developed a virus with the intent of affecting the productivity of enemies which would affect their ability to organise themselves and force them to retreat or make them easier to defeat as they would likely experience symptoms such as nausea, chills, sweating, confusion, drowsiness, coughing, intending to make it harder for those affected to function.
It was intended to be non-lethal as Ki'an was aware of the risks of unleashing a potentially lethal virus on a population and knew that in the wrong hands it could have disastrous consequences. The genetic make up of the virus and its antidote are a closely guarded secret by Ki'an.

- The best method of administering the virus while ensuring the safety of the person administering it is by dropping it from overhead in the form of a grenade or by wearing a rebreather to ensure they don't inhale it.
- The virus is non-lethal: created with the intent of affecting productivity.
- Symptoms range from mild to severe but the majority are moderate and can affect a person's functioning so while not particularly lethal it can take soldiers out of the battle while they recover from their symptoms.
- Only Ki'an knows the antidote and if enemies figured out an antidote then he could potentially make minor adjustments to the virus so it would require a new antidote.
