[SIZE=9pt]As part of the first of Aurora Industries’ cybernetic and augmentation line, the researchers at the Fondor facility began work on a new implanted rebreather that could filter out most contaminants for a being’s lungs and provide a hidden supply of breathable air. The resulting product created was the AICX-03 “Aero” Implanted Rebreather.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]The Aero Implanted Rebreather is created by implanting the device into the subject’s upper bronchi, right where the lungs join the trachea. A micro-fine filter made of a titanium dioxide mesh is installed to capture anything that be harmful to a subject, such as toxins, airborne poisons, dust, viral and bacterial pathogens, harmful gases. The captured substances are then eliminated by a low level charge that passes through the mesh, powered by an internal power cell (recharged in the same manner as a windmill).[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Also included within the device is a small closed off oxygen circulation unit that can hold an emergency ten minutes of breathable air for the subject to use if they are unable to get out of a harmful environment quickly. However, the device does have some downsides such as it cannot filter out particles charged by radioactivity and the system only activates if the subject’s implanted Bioscan sensor detects a harmful environment.
