Intent: To develop a comlink implant for Aurora Industries to sell
Development Thread: If necessary
Manufacturer: Aurora Industries
Model: AICX-01 "Voices" Comlink Implant
Affiliation: Open-Market
Modularity: None
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Micro-transceivers, electrum, vonium

Strengths:
+ Allows a subject to receive messages directly into the inner ear, eliminating any chance for being overheard
+ When the subject talks, the implant can pick up the quietest whisper so there is less chance the subject will be overheard speaking

Weaknesses:
+ Susceptible to ion and electrical attacks, can cause an overload or feedback that leave a subject deaf in the ear for several hours at least
+ If overload occurs, the subject can also experience a loss of balance as their inner ear equilibrium is thrown out of wack

Description:

As part of Taeli's directive in changing the exoskeleton division of Aurora Industries to a cybernetics division, the team based out of Fondor began developing a series of cybernetic implants and augmentations that could be used and sold to civilians and military alike. The first product they produced was the AICX-01 "Voices" Comlink Implant.

The "Voices" Comlink Implant is designed to allow a subject to receive messages undetected from those around them, increasing both privacy and security. The implant is made of a series of micro-transceivers that are implanted directly into a subject's inner ear, made from electrum and vonium, and can be activated or deactivated by a light touch to the subject's ear lobe. The "Voices" Comlink Implant eliminates any chance a being around the subject will hear the message they are receiving and the subject need only speak in quiet whisper for the implant to pick up their side of the conversation.

The implant is susceptible to ion and electrical-based attacks, which can cause an overload or feedback that will leave a subject deaf in that ear for several hours at least. If an overload occurs, an additional side effect can be the subject losing their sense of balance as their inner ear equilibrium is disrupted.
