Description:
Drawing inspiration from the classic B-Wing Starfighter for their next fighter project, the engineers at Aurora Industries began development of the AI-009 "Blitzar" Assault Starfighter. Designed with the idea of a fighter having heavy firepower and defenses, and would be able to fill a few different roles, the Blitzar is essentially the fighter analog to the H-7 Scurrg Bomber.
Equipped with two wing mounted heavy laser cannons, a lower wing mounted ion cannon, two torpedo launchers with four torpedoes each, and twin chin mounted light laser cannons, the Blitzar can deal out a heavy punch when engaging an enemy force. The Blitzar also comes with a reinforced hull and advanced shielding systems, along with the standard fare for starfighters. The ship is also able to close its two horizontal wings to allow it to gain a little speed and maneuverability, but this does come at the cost of the heavy weaponry being disabled to accomplish this.
When the wings are in attack position for lack of a better phrase, the ship is slower and less maneuverable and thus relies on its defenses to survive a dogfight.
