Agrecite is a crystalline substance created through the efforts of Josiah Denko. By combining his mastery of Art of the Small with rudimentary, unremarkable Synth-Crystals, he was able to create a new element worthy of usage by the Order of Silver Jedi. The process by which Agrecite is created begins with molecular manipulation through Art of the Small. Utilizing his own Solari Crystal as a basis for the initial adjustments, the resulting crystal is highly-reactive to the Light Side of the Force. The degree of this reactivity is so much so that, if a wielder of a lightsaber constructed around an Agrecite Crystal falls to the Dark Side, the saber will immediately cease functioning. What's more, a lightsaber constructed through usage of an Agrecite Crystal will uniquely respond to the Force Signature of its maker; to the point where any other individual (save those Force Bonded to the maker) cannot utilize the saber.
However, these are not the element's most novel effects, for conducting the Force through Agrecite results in a very unique behavior. Whether if it be a pure piece of Agrecite or a lightsaber possessing it, conducting the Force through its form results in its brimming with a physical manifestation of the Light Side: literal, Force-born light. Depending upon the effort put forth by the element's wielder, the magnitude of the light can range from a simple glow to a blinding, unrelenting flash that can be sustained. (For lightsabers, this manifests itself as a brightening of the blade). The uncanny part about this light is the effect it has upon both organics and synthetic beings. When exposed, the average organic or synthetic individual will be met with the same level of intensity as if they looked up directly into the sun. However, for wielders of the Light Side of the Force, exposure does not affect them in the slightest! What's more, when a wielder of the Dark Side is exposed to the light, the sheer magnitude of Light Side presence works to overload their sense of sight.
This may result in temporary blindness, depending upon just how tainted the individual is. If the individual has barely tapped into the Dark Side of the Force throughout their lifetime, then the blindness will last for mere seconds. However, if an individual is literally steeped in the Dark Side, the light can result in temporary blindness lasting for several minutes. Of course, the strength of the light depends upon the strength of the wielder. An apprentice, with the totality of their effort placed upon the Agrecity, may be able to blind a Master for a second or two; whilst a Light Side Master will be able to accomplish several minutes through moderate focus. It is to be noted, also, that aside from causing the brightness of a lightsaber to increase when the Force is conducted through it, Agrecite does not augment the cutting power or any other trait of the weapon. What's more, it is actually more effective to wear Agrecite as jewelry or to keep it on hand as a raw crystal rather than place it in a saber; for its total effect is drastically diminished through this means.
However, even with the effect's diminishing, Agrecite is still a capable lightsaber crystal and comes in a variety of colors; namely those typically utilized by Light Siders. As a whole, Agrecite is a unique substance whose properties can be an exceptional ally to warrior of the light.
