Lucinda grabbed a jacket from one of the Lockers she passed as she made for the exit of the brig. She was trying to be stealthy, so it slowed her pace drastically, on top of the fact she was being hunted now. To think this had all been a mission to warn the Chiss the group known as the Maw was coming and now it was escape mission. “Blue can you locate my ship?” She asked in a whispered tone as she knew Blue was listening blue was always listening even when it wasn’t polite to do so.

“It is being held in Hanger sixteen B. I will download the gps to cortex chip.” Lucinda frowned slightly Blue didn’t have to tell her but the Chiss had deactivated her remote pilot system, so she couldn’t just call the craft to her. Lucinda slipped the Jacket on and slipped the Maser into one of its pockets as she made her way to the exit to the brig. No Guards were watching this exit mostly because it had biometrics lock on it. That would make it near impossible to pass for most people but not Lucinda. She coughed slightly and her voice changed mimicking the voice of her interrogator and her eyes shifted becoming red like a Chiss’s eyes. Speaking towards the security system “Let me pass.” The system scanned her eyes and then she raised her hand the synthetic skin on her hands morphed and changed turning a slight hue of blue as her fingertips mimicked those of her once interrogator.

Click! Lock disengaged as the system register her as Commander Vurc'opol'uowarm. Lucinda moved towards the door exiting the building as she did her feature reverted to their normal appearance. She needed to get to the hanger where her ship was so she could get off the is doomed world. Unaware she was being stalked by those in the Maw. She began to make her way to the Hanger where her and Maestus Maestus Paths would cross.

As Maestus slipped off to locate the Force adept, Tu'teggacha and his marauders pressed on in their great encirclement. With the hangars and dormitories under their control, and the bulk of the Chiss defenders already brought down, the assault had become little more than a mop-up operation. There had been a time when a military academy like this would have been a hard target, not only defended by fierce troopers and bright cadets but also in comms range of vast CEDF patrol flotillas. Now, with the spaceways full of debris and holocomms disrupted, it was every planet for itself against the Maw.

And the Maw was winning. It would eat of Chiss space until it was sated.

Securing the practice ranges would have been difficult if they'd been the first iceberg that the Brotherhood had attacked. The classrooms were huge, vaulted facilities, "danger rooms" in which Chiss cadets could practice fighting on realistic recreations of the terrain of exotic planets. There were ashen plains and trenches, cratered moonscapes, dense synthetic forests, even specialty facilities to practice aquatic and zero-g combat. The very top of the berg was the ice practice ground; no simulation or artificial recreation was required to approximate ice and snow, not on the frigid icebergs of Rentor.

Each training facility was huge and full of spots to hide and ambush from... but by the time the Brotherhood arrived, the dwindling defenders could only take limited advantage of these excellent tactical positions. Life form scanners quickly rooted out the few who tried to use them against the slaver gangs, and these clever cadets and veteran instructors were quickly brought down with stun blasts and electro-nets. The entire berg was swept top to bottom in twenty minutes. Then it was on to the fourth facility: the generators. Few Chiss would even try to hide there; they were hazardous to life forms.

The Brotherhood swept through quickly, encountering mostly droids.

Most of the remaining Chiss soldiers were pulling back to the central berg; the last of the outer bergs, full of cafeterias and military theory classrooms, had virtually no defensive strongpoints. Soon the entire center of the academy would be encircled, and escape would be all but impossible. Indeed, the only ship with any real chance of escape was the one belonging to Lucinda Anguish Lucinda Anguish , for it was the only one in the holding facility in the central berg; all the others were in the hangar berg, the first one to fall to the Maw. It wouldn't be long before the desperate Chiss tried to commandeer Anguish's ship...

After all, it was their only hope.

Maestus was hunting. It had been too long since she had respectable quarry to lead her on a chase. But this Force sensitive was proving good prey. Every hall and room Maestus stepped down or into, it appeared as if Lucinda Anguish Lucinda Anguish had already been through. An error though. Lucinda left a bread trail of bodies. Not that Maestus minded. But it made it far easier to track her.

And that is how, moments after Lucinda entered the hangar bay, Maestus arrived. She slowed her pace once within the hangar, her robes falling still. She paused, taking in the contents of the hangar. And noted the ship. Ahh, that is it. Maestus decided to try a different tactic.

Care to come out and talk? You may have noticed, I am no Chiss loyalist. Perhaps in that, we share commonality.

LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE

The Night Vulture pierced the veil at supersonic speeds as it trail blazed against the cloud ridden sky as flowers of smoke and debris rained down in it's wake. The enemy fighters had been destroyed, the Knight of Ren had been victorious. His next sweep of the area was quick and efficient, wiping clean any left over resistance to the MAW forces and securing the skies above with the powerful stealth ship. His cracked helm glared over the digital readouts with dark resolve, seething just beneath the surface with a hatred unfurled.

The Chiss homeworld had been destroyed but the brutal purge continued nonetheless, it was not a matter of hatred but pure ideological zealotry that drove them to kill indiscriminately ever blue skinned humanoid they found. The Head of the Snake was the crippling blow to the Ascendency and now they would reap the spoils of war, no House would stop that now. Those who were not killed would be enslaved, the rest of the galaxy would follow in their example, eventually.

The vessel screamed over the skies, the Knight of Ren looked over the battlegrounds for a sign or a signal in case exfil was needed.

“I thought you were going for the no killing approach?” The comm came cracking to life, she should have known Blue would criticize her methods. It wasn’t like Blue had any moral high ground considering the droid was highly trained in the art of killing. Then again Lucinda probably would get blamed for that call it poor parenting considering Blue was her creation and therefore like a child to her. “Hey I tri…”

Someone spoke out to her from outside her clawcraft which she was looking over to make sure no chiss engineers had messed her set up to much. Lucinda’s head pupped up from behind the pilot seat and peered out the clawcrafts cockpit window. There stood a red twi’lek in robes, great a cultist after dealing with the Chiss she didn’t really want to kill now she had to deal with this chit.

Lucinda reached into a small compartment pulling out her saber and energy bow that had been stored there. She slipped them into the pockets of the heavy coat she had pilfered. Then she pushed the cokcpit hatch open and pulled herself out on top of the Eaight Ball the name of the black Clawcraft with a white eight painted on each side of sphere that was the cockpit.

Lucinda came up standing up on it above the hatch looking down at Maestus Maestus . Lucinda’s eyebrow quirked up with curiosity at the tactics being displayed. Lucinda’s eyes where currently displaying a green a color and her hair was long and brown.

“Clearly you aren’t a Chiss Loyalist. Doesn’t give use much common ground though. I didn’t come here with the intent to kill Chiss but you and your friends did.” Lucinda didn’t make any moves to threaten the Twi’lek choosing to let the woman speak her peace. “So what do you want Red One?”

With the fighters destroyed, Sinh had cleared the skies, and the hangars were in Brotherhood hands. Tu'teggacha's facial tendrils twisted into a ghastly Ebruchi smile. There was no escape for the Chiss now... save one. As the Brotherhood slavers closed in on the central iceberg, converging from all five outer icebergs in a mad rush across the bridges, they knew they had to make haste. There was one starship left outside the Maw's control, one last chance to get away from the Rentor academy before it utterly fell. It was the starship in the CEDF impound hangar: the clawcraft belonging to one Lucinda Anguish.

The confrontation there would determined who, if anyone, managed to escape.

Elsewhere, the operation was wrapping up. Stunned Chiss cadets, instructors, and guards were being dragged back to the assault shuttles, where they would be prepped for transport to Holy Gehinnom. Tu'teggacha's facial tendrils writhed in excitement as the slavers returned with their prizes, dragged behind them in chains; the Ebruchi was eager to get to work on this new complement of prisoners. The Brotherhood had been depleted by war, but when these slaves were broken and forced into obedience, they would restore the Maw's strength. Their minds would finish the despoliation of their own people's space.

And then they would plan and lead the conquest of the Galactic Alliance.

She crossed the hangar at a casual, confident pace. She drew no weapons, even though her lightwhip hung from one side of her belt, and a saber on the other side. She made no overt moves of aggression. She was genuinely curious about this woman, Lucinda Anguish Lucinda Anguish .

You are correct. I bear no loyalty to the Chiss. To be frank, we did not come to kill. We came to replenish our ranks. Find those who show aptitude and bring them into the fold.

She studied Lucinda quizzically. She let her black eyes, rimmed with red, rest on the other woman for several seconds.

Why are you here?

Lucinda quirked her right eyebrow wondering what this Twi’lek was getting at. This whole we did not come here to kill for what ever group she worked for was a bit of rubbish. Sure, they may have come to find people to put in their ranks but what about those that refused. It was a twisted view of what intent is, they intended for everyone to cooperate, but you know that isn’t a rational outcome.

“What ever group you work with?” As Lucinda herself didn’t know their exact name she had suspicion that they were the group that called themselves the Maw, the ones who had taken out Csilla. Though that was just an educated guess, as they seemed far more organized for common pirates and raiders. “They knew on some level that not everyone would comply, and most would resist. Any rational minded person would know that those that resisted and did not comply would have to be dealt with so intent was there.” Lucinda spit out logic like mike a protocol droid maybe it was due to being partial bionic herself or maybe Blue was rubbing off on her.

“I came to warn them.” She answered Honestly. “I intercepted communication transmissions between some members of your group or what ever you want to call yourselves. I have been monitoring allot transmissions in Chiss space since Csilla well……” Lucinda stayed on her guard though her thoughts dwelled on the life lost Csilla. Though Lucinda didn’t have much in the way of caring when it came to life lose that wasn’t her own or those close to her Csilla was a bit excessive in her mind.

“They didn’t want to listen to me, mistakes were made, next time I will have to plan better.” The Strange Twi’lek didn’t seem to make too many sudden moves. The Twi’lek was armed though she made no moves to draw her weapon. Lucinda kept a tight eye on the Red Twi’lek and could feel the dark energy coming off her. Lucinda’s Aura was a little more Grey morally she hadn’t truly ever plunged fully into the darkness even as a trained Assassin.
