After the beat

Slowly, Vulpesen swirled his drink before lifting it to his lips. "I get what you're talking about, but you've got it the wrong way around." Vulpesen's brows furrowed a bit as he himself thought back on those days. All the times he had been denied knowledge. He didn't even want praise. Recognition would have been nice, but all he desired was to learn. They had denied him that time and time again. "I made it to where I am in spite of the jedi."

Vulpesen's ears flicked to the new entrant to their bar, his head tilting as he observed the newcomer. "Small galaxy, ain't it?" Extending a hand, Vulpesen offered a fanged smile. "Vulpesen Torrevaso, Valde of Veradune and the Vitae Security Forces" Even as he attempted to shorten his title, it did come out fairly lengthy. But, that was the price of nobility. Back home, it would sometimes be a competition to see who could outdo the other with lengthy titles.

Mereel's eyebrows raised inquisitively at the Valde. They lowered as a quiant memory returned to the forefront of his brain. Something that he couldn't quite perfectly recall in his inebriated state.. something [member="Vulpesen"] had said about being a dog of the Jedi, or something like that back when they first met on Coruscant.

He was about to break into what would have no doubt been an incredibly enlightening conversation on the Jedi Order with the Valde when a man in a dark cloak made his way over to them. He recognized the familiar voice almost immediately.

Giving [member="Jacste Selden"] an acknowledging nod of the head, Mereel chugged down the last of his third drink before answering the man's question. "Oh you know, same thing as the business we had on Chandrilla. Hunting scum, although this time a little less murder."

Mereel sat back and tried futility to get a few more drops from his empty glass as Vulpesen introduced himself with all of his titles in tow. Once the Valde was done speaking, he chimed in to introduce Jacste, "Vulps, Jacste. Mercenary extraordinaire."

Decker Willo headed round. What he felt like, after a long day of training piloting recruits and one of them giving him lots of back talk, he decided to spend the rest of it doing something he thoroughly enjoyed; drinking. However coming into the bar he did not suspect to find someone familiar there. He came round behind [member="Vulpesen"], hand patting his back. "Good to see you in top shape, Vulp! And who might these two be?" he asked, just coming round when [member="Mereel Vaun"] introduced [member="Jacste Selden"].

Willo sat down then, getting himself a drink. "What's your poison?" he asked to the others, completely oblivious to any earlier conversation and thinking he had just come in around the start of conversing. He ordered a glass of bantha-blaster and waited.

Rather unceremoniously a woman with no shoes dressed in brown leathers accented by blue and red cloth plopped herself into one of the stools by the bar. She groaned as she did so, flopping out across the bar with her face buried in the steel counter until the bartender made his way around to her. "Usual?" She raised up a hand with two fingers out. The bartender just chuckled before mixing her drink twice over and setting the two glasses down. "Long day I take it?"

Finally she lifted her head, her violet eyes glancing to the man before settling on the glasses. "You've no idea." Asajj mumbled before taking one of the glasses and began to drink.

Mereel started to tune the conversation out as he set his now-empty third drink down on the counter. He knew if he stopped talking it would just mark the beginning of his cheery facade being washed away, and the the same would happen if he kept drinking.

He turned his back on the exchange between Jacste and Vulpesen for a moment. After getting the bartenders attention again, he ordered a last drink and swiftly got to work.

Hardly leaving the safety of the rim of his glass, he slowly answered the new arrival's question with the hints of a slight slur in his words, "Mereel Vaun. If by poison you mean life blood, then I'd have to say this Tarisian lager."

His eyes stopped looking at the man's mid sentence and began following a peculiar woman who had caught his attention. Several things about the woman had caught his attention, but the bartender would only hear one when Mereel once again brought him over, "No shoes on this planet is ballsy as hell. Put that crazy lady on my tab."

"A pleasure to meet your Jacste." Lifting his drink to his lips, Vulpesen stopped mid sip two presences appeared to his senses, one of whom walked over to introduce himself. Turning to [member="Decker Willo"], he gave the pilot a grin. "Good to see you here Willo, though a bit unexpected." Upon being asked what he was drinking, he lifted his glass with a smile. "Corellian whiskey." Mereel's attention drew his own, and looking over to Asajj, he couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "Careful, she might kill that tab of yours. We've met before."

Asajj pretended not to notice [member="Mereel Vaun"] looking her over, but she totally did. When he offered to pay for her drink she couldn't help but laugh, turning to face him. "When your feet are metal there's really no danger in going barefoot. So, you don't have to buy my drink." The Dathomir blinked at the next voice though, and peered over Mereel to [member="Vulpesen"] , raising a brow. "What's the Valde doing in a place like this, hmm? Secret love affair?"

Decker Willo saw a woman approach the bar, and almost every half of him wanted to go right over and greet them. And then in [member="Vulpesen"] guessed it would not put on the best impression. And no doubt would end up getting him kicked out as well. Decker took another drink from his glass, it tasted good upon his tongue. The taste, the feel of it. "Unexpected? No, everyone likes a nice drink here and there. A good time to relax" he said, putting his glass up in a cheer, lifting his glass to each of the fellow drinkers.
