After Action Report (Post-Raid Discussion)

((Directly continued from here: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/99358-living-the-life-of-pablo-escobar-open-voss-raid/. This event occurs about a week after the raid.))

The promotion to Knighthood had been a bittersweet experience for Arisa, occurring right on the heels of a large-scale raid against the Silver Jedi and the Voss. With a heavy heart, she helped review every excruciating detail of the battle with fellow participants, then prepared an after action report to present to the council during an intelligence briefing.

The gist of it was that both the Voss Academy and Temple had been targets of attack, all evidence currently pointing to the Black Tie Syndicate. The Academy had fared well with Arisa and others present to repel the attackers, but several districts within Voss-Ka had sustained large casualties before the army of enemy droids had finally been put down and their fires quenched. There had also been a concurrent cyber-attack, but that had been quickly thwarted by a friendly
Whitehat associated with Corellia Digital, and the Silver Jedi's preexisting security measures to safeguard their secure networks.

All in all, they had done well to respond quickly to the threat before it got out of hand and resulted in even greater casualties, but the raid had brought up some questions that needed to be answered. Who exactly had the resources to engage the Silver Jedi on their home turf, and what had been their motivation for such an undertaking? What could be done to prevent such attacks in the future?

She called for the briefing to held at the Academy, in a small hall for the council and other interested parties with proper clearance. She had personally invited the CD Whitehat to the proceedings to present their own findings on the cyber front. She dressed formally for the occasion, wearing the service dress uniform of the Rangers. Since her promotion, she had decided to officially integrate into their command structure under General [member="Willa Isard"] as her direct superior.

All participants had also been invited to provide their testimony, though she knew some wouldn't be able to make it because of their injuries. In their case, she had gathered written testimonies beforehand to add to the report that anyone could read through at their leisure.

She arrived early to be the first at the designated hall for the briefing, taking care to ensure that the room was secure with the help of the Academy guards. When she was satisfied, she took her place at the roundtable to go over notes as she awaited the arrival of everyone else. She had no clue about who all would appear, but she hoped that some of
the ranking members of the Silver Order would show given the gravity of the situation.

Jolyn had been absent from the hottest parts of the fighting, having found herself in the relative safety of the space port when the attack had happened.

Nonetheless, she sat in the back kneeling in a meditative position, ready to watch the proceedings.

H3xle, remaining in the persona of Daina Adcock, had remained on Voss after the attack.

To say that the sale had been a success would be an understatement. The Silver Jedi, of which her boss was officially a member, had been fairly effusive in their praise when they had learned about her defense of their networks. Many of them had asked precisely how she had done it, to which she answered about trade secrets, smiled, and sipped her ever present coffee.

Luckily, many of her duties at Corellia Digital were able to be done remotely. If not, her other life would have been far less possible.

As Daina walked into the room at the Academy, she looked around. She had a slightly unusual set of assumptions about the way the Force worked, and had never really done much research to see if her assumptions were right. To her, the Force was simply a coding interface for the Universe, and Force Sensitives were the slicers that were able to manipulate the Universal Network much as she manipulated the Holonet and attendant planetary/local networks. Not being Force Sensitive, her opinion on the matter didn't truly matter.

She turned her head and noted the earliest arrivals, including a young woman in standard jedi attire, and [member="Arisa Yune"], who had personally requested her presence. To truly complete the stereotype of slicers, a social interaction on this level would have had her silent and shy, except she wasn't just a slicer. She was here in a role, and could hide her truest feelings behind the mask of Daina Adcock. As such, she stepped slowly over to Arisa with an easy smile on her face. Her blue hair was done in a nice bun at the back of her head, her suit consisted of a vest over a fitted white button up shirt with three-quarter sleeves, and a knee length skirt that was a perfect match for the vest. She wore low heels, allowing her to actually walk with some ease, and she carried her suit jacket over her arm. On her left forearm, her ever present computer sat, and her face bore stylish glasses that glowed slightly as H3xle watched the AR overlay of the world. In the Academy, there wasn't a lot to see, AR wise.

"Arisa, it is so good to see you again. Thank you for inviting me to this council." She said and extended her hand to the Jedi Knight. "Is there a place you would like me to sit?" Here she would show a little of her trepidation. The mask she wore as Daina Adcock was business savvy, educated, but knew how to read people to see if they would react best to true feelings or a steely exterior.

Willa was looking at the ones there while she sat and paid attention to the reports but she was trying to make sense of it more. Wanting to work on things but they had defenses over Voss and suddenly they were all rendered.... mute by what? A switch. She was uncertain what they could really to do compete with power of that magnitude and given the amount of stretching that seemed to be done by other groups to pile on whatever. It after a time made her numb and given how much hate the Republic got because it tried to help itself and others. Was not worth dwelling on and now the galaxy was trying to make the Silvers who had been around go a while and quiet. Helping the people... suddenly they receive all of the hate. Willa was remaining there and she was the commander for the ranger's not a general but she could let a few things go.

Korriban was over, but the galaxy-wide attack on the Silver Jedi was not. Today served to remind Aria and the rest of the Order of that fact; this time round, the Voss Temple had been raided - at which time Aria had been absent, but certainly she had noticed the drastic, if less than mature, reminders of their victory that the troublemakers had left behind. Today there was a meeting regarding the aftermath of the raid, to which she was automatically invited as a Silver Jedi. She knew very little of the logistics; that was the main reason why she was taking up the invitation - that and to offer what input she could, eager to do her bit as a Jedi.

Though being part of a minority and all the abuse that came with it wore Aria down to no end, Aria still felt proud to be a part of the Order; as she entered the room and quietly took a seat she had to feel a little pleased that she was at a meeting regarding serious issues. However, she took her seat and stayed keeping herself to herself, happy to listen until she had something of value to say.

Having already dispensed her yearly quota of care (singular), Domino had already left Voss and taken the Sangromancer home to work on personal projects. She had however taken the time to fill out the requested After Action Report.

I were walking back to temple, saw man threaten youngling with droids, destroyed droids, took ship, destroyed more droids. Ship did then blow up. Man then ran away after I ejected. Plz bring back Jedi trials

Theoretically, a week was a long time to get to an after-action report. Usually those were datapadded in within a day or two, when the details were still more or less fresh in everyone's mind. It wouldn't be unreasonable to figure that whoever was running the debriefing had consciously chosen to interview certain people last. Who knew the criteria they went with.

From Audren's point of view, the action was simple. Unknown assailants - rumored to be Black Tie Syndicate - had dropped attackers, done a fair amount of damage, then fled. No doubt the damage done had been less than they'd intended, but it was still more than he preferred. Of course, the details were far more abundant. That unknown assailant had delivered a large number of drop pods to Voss, many of them making it into the atmosphere before the planetary shield had come up. Those pods had contained heavily-armed war droids that had attacked both the Temple and the city of Voss-ka. During this attack, multiple Jedi were taken captive, at least two of which had been auctioned off over the holonet. After all that, the assailants had escaped through the planetary shield after detonating some sort of bombs secreted in their delivery ships.

Not only had all of this been done on the capital planet, it had happened without forewarning. And the enemy had taken a distinct lack of casualties besides the droids, which had been seen as disposable given the dispersal patterns and lack of support. Only two bodies had been left behind, and it was known that both of those had been dropped by their own people. Security cameras could be useful. And during all of this there had been some sort of cyberattack to boot. This was a clear breach of security, obviously someone hadn't been paying attention. Or multiple someone's.

That was another reason debriefs happened so soon after the action: avoid having the peons draw conclusions that might color what they'd actually seen. Let the analysts analyze. Had to justify their paycheck after all.

For the Sephi, this was less about why. It was about what had been done, why it had worked, and how they could prevent it in the future. Obviously being tucked away from the front lines wasn't any good. Having a fleet in orbit, a planetary shield, anti-air guns, and forces stationed planet-side hadn't done any good. Okay, maybe some good, the destruction wasn't as bad as it could have been. How could the capital of an intergalactic government - one which also happened to headquarter the cadre of space wizards as some others called them - not have foreseen and prevented this?

The Intervention was presently casting a dagger-shaped shadow over part of Voss-Ka.

Holding station within Voss' atmosphere, construction vehicles soared in and out of the star destroyer's open hangar bay, as the floating factory was operating non-stop to address the damage that had been done, both to the physical infrastructure as to the telecommunications data relays and power transfer stations.

The parabolic shape of Corellia Digital's Mark I droid starfighter was also present, appearing like flocks of ravens from out of the clouds as they were able to operate non-stop, pausing only infrequently to refuel, before being capable of launching again. Ostensibly, it was just a civil air patrol, but their presence alleviated the need for Ranger or Silver Fleet pilots to exhaust themselves providing planetary coverage.

For a video game company, Corellia Digital could be frightening for the resources it could bring to bear.

An apt metaphor, perhaps, for the vampire who had re-forged the company from the fires of obscurity.

The boy came in without any pomp or ceremony. He wasn't wearing the traditional robes, but looked instead like a spacer's kid. Plain shirt, dark trousers with a Corellian bloodstripe, black vest. A relic of the Clone Wars was slug into a holster that was low across his right thigh and Paperweight was bouncing against his left as it hung from his utility belt.

"Well, one thing's clear," the youngling knight announced as he entered. He'd been out on Rhen Var when news of the attack had happened, and then stayed on Rhen Var in case a follow on attack came, returning to Voss now only days later. But, he'd been reading and catching up on the reports filed by the Silver Fleet and Antarian Rangers. And was pleased to note one of his own employees being prominently named.

"Adcock's getting a promotion, and a bonus," the Corellia Digital chairman noted, his blue eyes locating [member="H3xle"] and giving her a nod of approval before he continued on in the room.

Dispensing with the pleasantries, the boy added, "[member="Willa Isard"] provided Corellia Digital with one of the droids that was recovered. I've got [member="Marque"] trying to crack its processors."

With that, the boy took a seat near [member="Audren Sykes"] and waited for the briefing to commence.
