GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Aetheris Watch
  • Classification: Temple
  • Location: Chandrila
  • Accessibility: Aetheris Watch, nestled within the Aetheris Watch Enclave, is deliberately located in an exceptionally remote and rugged mountainous region of Chandrila. Its approach is treacherous, requiring skilled navigation through narrow, winding valleys and over steep, often cloud-shrouded peaks. Natural hazards such as unpredictable rockslides, sudden atmospheric shifts, and even local wildlife act as the first line of defense. The paths leading to the temple are deliberately unmarked or subtly camouflaged, relying on intimate knowledge of the terrain rather than conventional routes. This natural isolation ensures that only those with legitimate purpose and extensive preparation can hope to find and reach the sacred site.
  • Description: Aetheris Watch serves as the spiritual heart and central nexus for the Aetheris Watch Enclave, a High Republic Jedi enclave operating in the Deep Core. This enclave functions outside of formal galactic governmental structures and maintains a deliberate distance from broader political entanglements. It is a secluded base for Jedi dedicated to preserving the ancient ways of the Force, focusing on study, meditation, and quiet mastery, rather than large-scale military or diplomatic interventions. Here, Chandrilan Jedi uphold the tenets of peace and justice through introspection and preparation, waiting for the opportune moment to perhaps re-engage with the galaxy on their own terms.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Meditation Chambers: Numerous individual and communal spaces designed to enhance Force connection and introspection.
  • Holocron Vault: A highly secure chamber dedicated to preserving and studying ancient Jedi holocrons and texts.
  • Training Courtyards: Open-air and covered areas suitable for lightsaber practice, Force exercises, and physical conditioning.
  • Living Quarters: Modest, comfortable rooms for the resident Jedi and any approved visitors, emphasizing simplicity and focus.
  • Refectory: A communal dining hall and kitchen, often serving locally sourced, simple, and nourishing meals.
  • Hydroponics Bay: A small, self-sufficient garden providing fresh produce, crucial for sustainability in its remote location.
  • Observatory: Equipped with advanced long-range scanners and telescopes, allowing for discreet monitoring of surrounding space and astronomical study.
  • Artisan's Workshop: Spaces dedicated to the creation and repair of equipment, lightsaber components, and other necessary items.
SECURITY
  • Security Rating: Low
The security of Aetheris Watch relies primarily on its extreme inaccessibility and the Force-sensitives who call it home, rather than overt fortifications or large garrisons. The perilous mountain terrain of Chandrila is the first and most effective deterrent, making accidental discovery or casual intrusion virtually impossible. Any approach would be lengthy, difficult, and likely detected far in advance by the resident Jedi, allowing them ample time to prepare.

Should an intruder overcome the natural defenses, the primary line of engagement is the active Force presence of the enclave's Jedi. These guardians are highly skilled in Force techniques for misdirection, camouflage, and deterrence, capable of disorienting, deflecting, or subtly turning away unwanted visitors without direct confrontation. Only as a last resort would lightsaber combat or direct physical intervention be employed, reflecting the enclave's philosophy of peaceful resolution and minimal conflict. Their goal is not to eliminate threats, but to ensure the continued secrecy and undisturbed existence of their sanctuary.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Established in the wake of significant galactic upheaval; the fall of the Galactic Empire and the formation of the New Republic, Aetheris Watch became the hidden heart of a group of Jedi on Chandrila. Founded by a small cadre of independent Jedi who felt the new galactic order, and even the re-emerging New Jedi Order later on, did not align with their particular philosophical interpretations or desired path for the Force, the enclave was conceived as a remote sanctuary. Here, deep within the relatively stable but often overlooked Deep Core, Aetheris Watch allows these Jedi to pursue an uncompromised understanding of the Force, safeguarding ancient knowledge and nurturing a select few Force-sensitives in isolation. While acknowledging the Galactic Alliance's authority in the Deep Core, the Aetheris Watch operates with deliberate independence, neither challenging nor formally aligning with either the galactic power nor the New Jedi Order, existing as a self-sufficient bastion of independent Force-users on Chandrila.

In 903 ABY, Aetheris Watch Enclave is led by Chandrilan Jedi Grandmaster Amaris Tel. On the wake of the rising Galactic Empire threat, the enclave exercised the connection they have built with various independent Jedi Enclave, including The Ghorman Enclave and their connection to the High Republic, to prepare for when the inevitable comes. They officially joined The Jedi Order as an autonomous enclave in 904 ABY, while preparing the infrastructure to be a part of TJO’s Underground Resistance Network.
