STRENGTHS
  • Escort Craft - The CR-51e was designed to include a heavier arsenal and armaments to ensure that it was capable of overcoming and battering down the shields of any threat it was likely to encounter during routine patrols or escort duties.
  • Increased Defenses - Necessitating a redesign to ensure it fit within its designation, the focus on this new design was on armaments and defensive capabilities that allow these craft to withstand a barrage from those warships it would often be thrown against.
  • Gravity Well Projector - While performing escort duties, it was understood that there would be a high likelihood of hit-and-run attacks against cargo haulers or other vessels that these craft were escorting, be it by pirates or enemy combatants. Attempting to counteract these strikes, these craft were designed to carry a smaller, compact Interdictor Field Generator to assist in preventing attacks from fleeing an area.
WEAKNESSES
  • Squadron Support - The redesign and retrofitting of these craft necessitated utilizing much of the interior capacity for its weapon systems and those vital systems to power and operate its singular gravity well projector. Because of this, these craft do not have the capacity to support or deploy any form of Starfighter Squadron or Support Craft, even being incapable of carrying a single smaller craft.
  • Minimal Maneuverability - Though utilizing a basic hull design and internal systems as the CR-51c, these craft were developed with a focus on attack and defense. This has also resulted in a drop in its overall maneuverability, with the vessel not being as nimble as its progenitor design.
  • Gravity Well Projector - Each of these crafts is equipped with a smaller, compact Interdictor Field Generator; however, this does not make these pieces of technology any less energy dependent. In fact, when these vessels utilize this field, they often experience a drain in their other systems, more notably in their weaponry, reducing the number of weapons that these vessels can bring to bear against an enemy by half.
DESCRIPTION
The Aether CR-51e is a variant of the progenitor design that originated with the Aether CR-51c, and though sharing a similar design aspect and size profile, that is all that is similar between these two crafts. The main difference between the two designs is their intended role and use, as the CR-51e is designated as an escort craft, and its layout and equipment reflect this and those roles it is expected to take. Much of the interior layout has been taken up by additional weapon systems and their components, resulting in these vessels lacking the capability to support or deploy Starfighters, Bombers, or Support Craft in any sufficient number; likewise, the vessel even lacks the capacity to carry a single smaller craft of any size. This increased focus on defense and armaments provides the CR-51e with a heavier arsenal and the survivability to withstand a prolonged engagement with all but the heaviest of warships and Capital vessels that it may come across or be fielded by criminal elements such as raiders and pirates.

A unique and seemingly out of place upgrade that was installed on these craft is the smaller, compact Interdictor Field Generator that sits at the heart of what was originally designed for a hangar bay. This smaller, compact Gravity Well Projector assists these craft in executing their duties as an escort vessel, specifically by being utilized to prevent a raiding craft or pirate vessel from fleeing the area after attacking or attempting a hit-and-run strike against a target. However, while this generator is smaller and more compact, it does not make this piece of technology any less energy-dependent. When utilized, the generator is known to draw power from other systems, mainly the onboard arsenal, reducing the number of weapons that the CR-51e can bring to bear against an enemy by half, often necessitating that only one or two of these craft utilize this system, leaving neighboring vessels free to unleash their full armament on a target.

Unlike its counterpart, the CR-51e is also noted as being slower than the CR-51c, partially due to the increased defensive capability and additional systems that place a drain on the engines, reducing their efficiency. This means that these craft have a noted drop in their overall maneuverability, and are otherwise incapable of achieving rapid acceleration or higher speeds as Sublight compared to similarly sized vessels. Drawbacks aside, the Aether CR-51e excels at its intended purpose as an escort craft, and its capability to stop an enemy from fleeing is often a shocking surprise to those pirates that attack these vessels and the convoys they are intended to protect.

Cool ship! That being said there are some concerns that need to be addressed. As per the Factory Rules pertaining to the use of rare or powerful technology, as seen under restricted or banned materials, I shall link it below:

"Particularly rare or powerful special features will necessitate using a lower level of production, such as stealth or anti stealth technologies (for example: cloaking technology, personal cloaking devices, gemcutters, crystal grav traps, moon dust), or rare canon technologies (for example: Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainers, etc) and their equivalents will only be permitted at Semi-Unique production."

Gravity Well Projectors are classified as rare or powerful special features. They can therefore only be utilized at semi-unique or below in production. I suggest you either lower the production to semi-unique or remove them from the vessel.
