Aeryndra Shaelyth bears the pale elegance characteristic of the Echani—ashen skin, silver-white hair, and piercing grey-blue eyes that often seem slightly unfocused, as though her attention lingers somewhere beyond the present moment.

She favors layered crimson and black garments associated with Sith mystics rather than battlefield armor. The robes of the Avulsuna are designed for meditation, ritual, and contemplation of the Force rather than open warfare.

Thin ritual markings along her torso and ribs act as focus sigils, helping anchor her mind when visions threaten to overwhelm her senses.

Even when standing still, there is something subtly distracted about her—as though she is constantly trying to reconcile what she sees with what has not yet happened.

BIOGRAPHY

The Warrior Who Could Not Fight
Aeryndra was born on Eshan, where every child of the Echani is expected to learn the art of combat.

For the Echani, battle is not merely violence—it is a conversation. Through motion and strike, warriors reveal truth about themselves and one another.

But Aeryndra’s connection to the Force disrupted that tradition in an unexpected way.

Her precognitive ability manifested too strongly and too early.

Rather than granting clarity in combat, her visions flooded her senses with too many possibilities at once. During sparring matches she would hesitate, distracted by conflicting futures. Sometimes she reacted to attacks that never occurred. Other times she froze entirely, overwhelmed by flashes of movements that might happen.

The result was disastrous.

Instead of excelling, she performed poorly in training, unable to commit to actions when dozens of possible outcomes clouded her perception.

To other Echani, her behavior seemed erratic and unfocused.

She was seen as a failure in the very discipline that defined her people.

Over time instructors stopped pairing her with other trainees. Without sparring partners she lost the primary means by which Echani youth form friendships and social bonds.

Isolation followed naturally.

Exile & Chains
Unable to progress through normal martial training, Aeryndra was quietly removed from the central warrior academies of Eshan.

Officially she had simply “failed to demonstrate aptitude.”

Unofficially, many believed something about her was wrong.

Her family relocated to a smaller settlement far from the formal training halls, hoping distance would hide the embarrassment of a child unable to uphold Echani martial tradition.

It was there that fate—or perhaps the Force—intervened.

A slaving raid struck the settlement without warning.

Pirates operating within territories influenced by the Sith Order captured dozens of inhabitants, transporting them to distant worlds where slaves were sold for labor or experimentation.

Aeryndra was among them.

Her visions during captivity were chaotic and terrifying—brief flashes of violence, unfamiliar worlds, and crimson-lit chambers she did not yet understand.

But one such vision caught the attention of her captors.

When a guard moved to strike a struggling prisoner, Aeryndra recoiled moments before the blow landed—not out of skill, but from a sudden overwhelming surge of foresight that caused her to collapse in panic.

A watching Sith observer noticed the reaction.

The Avulsuna
The mystics who examined her belonged to the Avulsuna, a Sith sect devoted to prophecy, Force visions, and the manipulation of fate. Where the Echani had seen weakness, the Avulsuna saw potential. Her problem was not lack of ability. It was lack of control.

Under Sith guidance, Aeryndra was taught techniques to narrow her awareness—focusing on singular threads of possibility rather than drowning in countless futures. Meditation rituals, dark side artifacts, and specialized sensory training slowly allowed her to stabilize the visions that once crippled her.

For the first time in her life, her strange perception had purpose. Her slave status gradually changed into something else. An apprentice tool of prophecy.

STRENGTHS
  • Controlled Precognitive Focus - Through training with the Avulsuna, Aeryndra has learned to narrow her once-overwhelming visions into focused glimpses of probable outcomes. While not perfectly reliable, this allows her to: anticipate danger moments before it occurs, identify likely consequences of actions and guide decisions with a subtle predictive edge. This makes her especially valuable in planning, reconnaissance, and survival situations.
  • Exceptional Scholarly Discipline - Unlike many within the Sith Order, Aeryndra excels in study, interpretation, and patience. She demonstrates strong aptitude in: Sith prophecy and ancient texts, Force theory and metaphysics and interpreting symbolic visions and fragmented knowledge. This gives her a long-term advantage, as her power grows through understanding rather than raw strength.
  • Unsettling Awareness - Aeryndra possesses a constant, low-level sensitivity to the Force that creates an almost instinctive awareness of her surroundings. Even when not actively using her abilities, she often: senses shifts in intent or presence, notices subtle environmental changes and reacts slightly ahead of others in tense situations. While not infallible, this makes her difficult to completely surprise and gives her a quiet, eerie edge in both social and dangerous encounters.
WEAKNESSES
  • Social Inexperience - Because she never participated fully in Echani combat culture, Aeryndra struggles to understand interpersonal dynamics and emotional nuance.
  • Vision Saturation - Large numbers of possible futures can overwhelm her senses, forcing her to withdraw into meditation to regain clarity.
  • Limited Combat Focus - Compared to many Sith, her martial abilities remain merely competent rather than exceptional.

PERSONALITY OVERVIEW

Aeryndra is quiet, analytical, and socially underdeveloped.

Among the Echani, combat serves as a form of communication and emotional expression. Sparring teaches warriors how to read body language, intention, and personality through physical exchange.

Aeryndra never learned this language.

Her precognitive visions disrupted training so severely that she was gradually excluded from communal combat instruction. Without those formative experiences, she never developed the intuitive social awareness most Echani gain through martial interaction.

As a result, she often struggles with:
  • Casual conversation
  • Reading emotional tone
  • Understanding subtle social dynamics

She compensates through observation and careful thought, analyzing interactions intellectually rather than instinctively.

Ironically, she often understands possible futures far better than she understands the people standing directly in front of her.
