PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Multipurpose
  • Weight: Light
  • Resistances:
    • Energy: High
    • Kinetic: Very Low
    • Lightsabers: Very High
    • Other: High (Cold) | Low (Elemental) | Average (Toxins) | Low (Electricity) | Very Low (Sonic)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Integrated Comms Systems: This personal Aegis has a built-in communications system within the helmet that enables up to long distance communication.
  • Voice Alteration Device: A device built into the helmet that alters the wearer’s voice to hide their identity.
  • Nightvision Optics: The helmet is outfitted with a sensor that enhances the wearer’s vision in low lighting areas.
  • Wrist-Mounted Grappling Hook: Secured within the left gauntlet is a wrist-mounted grappling hook with a long wire of Phrik for short ranges at maximum. (20 meters at maximum)
STRENGTHS
  • Agile: Because of the light materials the armor allows the wearer to perform agile maneuvers within reason.
  • Lightsaber Resistance: The cloak of ultrachrome serves to disperse the concentrated energy commonly found in lightsabers instead of being focused into a singular point. The segmented plates of Phrik in the helmet, chestpiece, pauldrons, vambraces, and shin guards are also resistant to the lightsaber. Additionally, the plates is coated in Nightshadow that makes it resistant to blasters.
  • Arctic Stealthy: From the color patterns to the very fact that the nightshadow reduces the sound of movement to bare minimum. In the arctic environment, the wearer is treated as if they have camouflage in terms of sight. The cloak even bends the light that enables the wearer to blend in with the arctic further.
  • Arctic Resilient: In combination of the inner layer of Synfleece with silk, they keep the wearer warm under the harsh cold temperatures. Of course this enables the wearer to be resistant to cyro type weapons, but not immune.
WEAKNESSES
  • Kinetic Vulnerability: Unfortunately this set of armor protects very little against kinetic weapons.
  • Sonic Vulnerability: Due to the armor focusing on flexing instead of tanking strikes, Sonic can cause the armor to reverberate that the wearer gets very little protection from.
  • Electricity Weakness: While this set of the Aegis doesn’t rely so much on electronics, a blast of electricity could still fry the functions within the helmet. Unfortunately not even the cloak can completely protect the wearer from this element as it can only cause the energy to disperse over the armor.
  • Heat Environments: As this armor was designed to handle cold environments, it performs poorly in hot environments and becomes incredibly uncomfortable to wear in humid weather as well.
DESCRIPTION
As it is custom for every Warden Initiate within the Wardens of the Shroud, each Initiate constructs their own Aegis. Rath Nihro was no exception as he worked tirelessly in between shifts in his military career. He sourced the Aegis of the Shroud as a means to build up his own armor, and eventually after he experimented with the makings of the armor. Rath came to the conclusion that he should develop an Aegis for the environments while also retaining most of the original Aegis functions.

Days had gone by as Rath drew up the correct schematic for the basic layout for his Aegis. Once he had done so, the young Initiate decided to build his first Aegis closer to home, to Kalidan to be precise. Hence the term Aegis of the Snow was developed as Rath drew more inspiration to utilize ultrachrome into the form of plates originally. However that metal clashed with Phrik and limited the mobility of the armor.

Back to the drawing board, Rath made use of wool and silk that kept the warmth inside the armor. Which made the armor comfortable and not restricting as Rath made use of the Phrik to armor up around the limbs. Then came back to the ultrachrome as he wanted a better defense against lightsabers, and consequently near equivalent defense against blasters. After he had experimented with nearly a dozen of concepts, Rath eventually came upon the hooded cloak of ultrachrome that was equally as flexible as a fabric, yet the weight was distributed around the shoulders as it is attached to the pauldrons for secured purposes. Additionally, Rath made use of the traditional colorations of the Aegis in combinations of the ultrachrome cloak that made efficient use of hiding in arctic environments.

Unfortunately, Rath did try to make a radioactive defense which would have made the armor extremely valuable for Kalidan in terms of exploring the ruins. However those attempts had failed, and even the somewhat successful ones drastically increased the weight of the armor. Which clashed with Rath’s plan for this Aegis, so he removed that aspect for future purposes. Instead, Rath integrated the remaining phrik material that he had left into the form of a wrist mounted grappling hook strictly for the purposes of getting to higher ground for exploration's sake. As with snow and ice, one can never be truly sure when they need a trusty grappling hook to save their hide.
