Adventure at your doorstep (SJC paddies)

jP8T6z.jpg

Location: A good hike outside of Silvers Rest, Kashyyyk.

Kashyyyk always felt like home to Milla, which was kinda odd really, since she has never been on the home planet of her species or even knew what her species was. Even still, something about the towering trees and wet and humid environment that stirred something distant and familiar in her. The feeling was a good one though fleeting at times, and only acquired when she was able to escape the confines of the Silvers Rest and roam free in the jungles.

Amongst the towering wroshyr trees, where the soft rains fell and steam rose from the warm grounds. A fast moving padawan flitted through the giant ferns and undergrowth. Bare feet making almost no sound as they skipped through mud puddles, bounced across patches of moss and balanced on think tree roots. Sharp blue eyes took in every detail even at the speeds she was moving. The padawan moved through the undergrowth with the grace of a dancer. Which was good, cause she had places to be.

A new rumored set of ruins had been spotted not far from Silvers Rest itself. Rumored as in no one had been out there yet to check on them. To Milla, that was good, that meant a new adventure. Also it meant she got to escape the temple for a while.

Milla came to a quick stop on a low hanging tree branch at the edge of a clearing. Hunkering down, her tail wrapped around the branch for support. She paused and took in her surroundings. Listening, watching. After a moment or two, she pulled a datapad out of her pocket and began to check the map on the ruins location. She had been traveling for longer than she had hoped, but she was very close now.

The forest rain pounded hard, scattering in the bitter wind, the giant wroshyr trees themselves shook to their very roots by the maelstrom. The rain poured especially hard on a pair of three odd friends, two Padawans and one lumbering Wookie, trudging through the dirty and muddy path of the forest. "We have been walking in the same direction for THREE. DAYS. We should ave' got somewhere by this time!" "Yeah, we would have gotten somewhere if SOMEONE hadn't dropped the MAP in the RIVER!" "That was only because YOU bumped into me, you pig-dog!" "Pig-dog?! Who are you calling pig do-" A growl brought the two explorer's argument to a sudden stop, as they both turned to look at their furry friend, a look of frustration clearly visible on his face. "What did he say?" Nathaniel raised a single eyebrow at his friend, fluent in Shyriiwook, the language of the planet's natives. "He says we should stop arguing and keep moving." Nathaniel rubbed the back of his neck, and cast his gaze down at the ground. "Yeah, let's stop wasting time and go."

Secretly, Nathaniel wanted nothing more than to stop and rest, remove the weight of the heavy backpack he carried off of his tired and haggard frame, wash his formerly red colored wool overcoat, now caked in brown grime and filth, his face also covered in it, slowly being washed away by the torrent of rain that picked at his bones and chipped away at his resolve. But he knew he had to press on. Food stores ran low, and tiredness began to set in among the group. None had received a decent night's sleep ever since they were trapped in this grand forest, sleeping on the dirt and leaning your back against rocks didn't exactly do wonders for your sleep schedule.

Nathaniel groggily rubbed his left eye, attempting to dislodge some of the dirt that had wedged itself in his eyelashes, and he opened his eyes as he saw something through his blurry vision. Is that... a building? The hopeful thought crept into his mind, but he knew it would soon be replaced by the cold hard reality of their desperate situation. Nathaniel reluctantly blinked again, loath to open his eyes and face the truth. But he had to. Nathaniel blinked, and opened his eyes. No, it can't be. The building was now in stunning detail, vines stretched down from a large wall and into an archway that served as the entrance to the derelict structure. Old, cracked stone peeled away, and massive statues towered over the gargantuan walls of the building. Nathaniel grinned ear to ear, and turned back to face his friend.

"Joey, Wook, it-it bea... A building!" Nathaniel loudly proclaimed as he beamed at his friend. Joey laughed and shook his friend by the shoulders, as if he wanted to make sure he was not dreaming. The Wookie growled, and Nathaniel turned his gaze towards him. "What's he say?" "He say he already knew it was a building." Nathaniel's expression quickly turned into pursed lips and furrowed eyebrows. Nathaniel slowly blinked once, and turned back towards the building, and began to walk towards it. Now they might have a chance to leave the jungle, finally, and he and Joey cheered once more.

Leddie slowly snuck around the forest, smirking a little. She was able to run around and get some time now. Yes it had to be on a Jedi planet, but hey. She got to meet Wookies! As she moved around, the Zabrak would check almost every little thing before hearing... either something or some one. She ducked down, hiding in some brush as she peeked to see who was there.

She looked, trying to get a clear look with her visor. Heat vision didn’t really work with all the wildlife. She then turned around, not sure if she should show herself or not.
