Character Admiral Kelsen Ghastt

  • Species: Human
    Rank: Admiral
    Age: 34 GSY
    Weight: 124 lbs
    Eyes: Grey

    Name: Kelsen Ghastt
    Faction: Eternal Empire
    Homeworld: Timora
    Height: 5'6"
    Hair: Strawberry Blonde
    Force Sensitive: No

    Appearance: Kelsen is beautiful, but in a cold, distant sort of way, as if sculpted from snow. Everything about her is calculated for efficiency - her close-cropped hair, her cleanly-pressed uniform, her crisp movements. Though slender and not particularly tall, she has an air of command about her, a strength in her ramrod-straight posture that demands others fall in line. Her voice is bright and clear, like a struck chime, easily cutting through the chaos of battle to deliver orders. Her steel-grey eyes take in everything, but never give away any hint of her true feelings.

  • ++ Brilliant Organizer
    ++ Charismatic Leader
    ++ Experienced Tactician

    Kelsen is a true efficiency expert. Capable of doing incredibly advanced calculations and sophisticated forward planning in her head, she can sniff flaws and inefficiencies in any organization or battle plan with ease. Rather than come down hard on her subordinates for any such misstep, however, she takes on the role of a mentor, working to build the corps of officers beneath her into a more skilled and harmonious machine. This approach, and her willingness to give praise where due, makes her popular with her men. Add to that her long years of battle experience and keen tactical mind, and you have an admiral who makes for a dangerous opponent indeed.

    -- Isolated
    -- Uncompromising
    -- Obsessed With Efficiency

    Kelsen has many allies, but no true friends. Her career is her life, and she allows nothing and no one to get in the way of providing the most efficient and effective service to the Empire that she possibly can. She tells herself that she feels disdain for the rebels and criminals that disrupt Imperial rule of law, but the truth is that she feels an outright hatred, a cold flame in the pit of her stomach that never allows her to rest. All of these things are ingredients for a burnout or mental break. So far, the admiral's considerable mental discipline has held back such a fate, but her inability to feel satisfaction until she has wiped out all threats to order may soon consume her.

  • Born on the unremarkable backwater of Timora, Kelsen grew up on her family's sunpetal farm, seemingly destined for an unremarkable life surrounded by unremarkable people. She was an only child, and when her father suddenly died the day after her seventh birthday, she found herself under the weight of tremendous responsibility despite her tender age. But Kelsen rose to the challenge, all but running the household while her grief-shattered mother struggled to make the farm profitable. The family limped on for a while, but in the end their bills far outweighed their assets. Kelsen's mother killed herself the day they lost the farm. Kelsen was fifteen.

    With few other options, the young girl lied about her age and enlisted in the planetary defense forces. In the regimented environment of basic training, she thrived and excelled. Despite a scarcity of formal education, she aced the officer exam, and was commissioned as a lieutenant just before her seventeenth birthday. She spent the next decade and a half running off pirates and raiders, rising rapidly through the ranks as she demonstrated tactical innovation and ruthless efficiency. At thirty-two, she was placed in command of Timora's spaceborne forces, and promptly whipped them into shape as an able patrol and inspection force.

    If there was one thing Kelsen had learned over the course of her life, it was that disorder was intolerable. Under the rule of law, those who obeyed the government were protected by it; only the noncompliant suffered. But in a state of chaos and lawlessness, everyone was vulnerable, and that could not be permitted. When the Eternal Empire arose in the region and absorbed Timora as an early member world, Kelsen saw an ideal protector for an isolated and potentially disordered sector. She turned over Timora's defenses to a subordinate and joined the Empire's navy, where her experience and tactical acumen soon saw her promoted to a position of authority.

    Now, Admiral Ghastt serves the Emperor by hunting down and rooting out the lawless Eclipse Rebellion... and all other enemies of the Empire.
