OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a heavy turbolaser for Freebirds Industries production
  • Canon Link: None
  • Permissions: None
  • Primary Source: None
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Turbolaser
  • Size: Extremely Large
  • Weight: Extremely Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: Tibanna Gas/Energy supply
  • Ammunition Capacity: Extremely Large - (effectively limitless)
  • Reload Speed: None
  • Effective Range: Extreme
  • Rate of Fire: Low
  • Stopping Power: Extreme
  • Penetration: Extreme
  • Recoil: High
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Overcharged servos allow for faster than normal traversing rates to allow this turbolaser to be able to engage any ship from heavy frigates and up accurately with highly effective fires both at range and up close. This combined with the weapon's structural integrity due to the use of advanced materials allows for increased rates of traverse compared to standard heavy turbolasers.
  • Various protective linings on the turret itself make it extremely resistant to EMP/Ion attacks alongside being highly resistant to various chemical and radiation based attacks. Which means that those who wish to destroy this turret are going to have to resort to pure firepower.
  • Weapon's crewless design is more conducive to centralized fire controls for various star ships, this allows for more space saving and safer ship designs in case of weapons failures.
  • Recoil system taken from Mjolnir cannons, allowing for these weapons to have much higher ranges of movement to make them more adaptable in combat, especially in close quarters.
STRENGTHS
  • The Big Gun: These Turbolasers are meant to be the heavy hitters, the kings of battle. They hit like a freight train filled with neuranium at ranges that make most people gawk. These weapons are meant to be the opening statement to any fight, and provide their users with quite the compelling argument. You will not out range them, you will not out hit them. You just as well surrender, or be pummeled into space dust.
  • Advanced Servos and Construction: These turrets take advantage of the latest in design materials and construction. This affords them a wide protection against multiple threats in battle and sturdy armor against more conventional threats. To put it bluntly, these turrets are able to be massive and afford the same protection, while also having the responsiveness of lighter turrets. Come prepared for a fight.
WEAKNESSES
  • Don't try to shoot star fighters: These are heavy Turbolasers. At range, don't even bother trying to shoot enemy corvettes, light frigates, or star fighter/bomber squadrons. The rounds are too slow and those ships are too fast to form a proper shooting solutions. And at close range, the level of movement they need to track said targets is way too high, so again, keep them leveled at heavier targets.
  • Bane of all Turbolasers: Cut off these weapon's power supply or destroy their tibanna reserve and this weapon is now a massive hunk of useless metal. Pretty simple.
DESCRIPTION
Ever since there have been turbolasers, there have been some maniac trying to make these weapons bigger, badder, and just more insane. And with the creation of Freebirds Industries new line of turbolaser products, they decided to take their own material technology and use that to make an utterly insane heavy turbolaser. Sticking with a single cannon style of turret, they took everything on the standard turbolaser, and cranked it to eleven, and then made it twice as large. The literal amount of armor and reinforcements in this turret, along with the stupid level of reinforced and overcharged servos to increase this weapon system's ability to track relatively smaller targets. This makes a turret that most enemy's will have to brute force bully over, and have to do so while under the harrowing firepower of this weapon system. You will not be able to out range this thing, and unless you brought numbers, you will be hard pressed to find something that hits harder. So bend your knee to the king of battle, or be destroyed under it's unforgiving gaze.

Same thing here as with the other sub.

I certainly applaud the creativity in the addition and further rating fields to include "Reload Speed" and "Penetration," however your "Reload Speed" field is bringing a bit of confusion here. When I read "Reload Speed" as "None," it reads to me as though it requires no time at all to reload. If this is the case, this will definitely cut into your point allocation. Which is why this sub currently sits at 3 points over in my calculations. If you could clarify this for me, that would be greatly appreciated.

So when I say there is no reload speed it is essentially as Turbolasers, by design can't be "reloaded" unless you pull the thing out because their ammunition capacity is directly fed from the ship's main systems. This means that there is no way to reload this particular sub (unless you do a massive overhaul because it's a turbolaser).
