The Chasm

Unknown Planet 49. Maw Cluster System.

Day of Blood.

Men of green would go to any lengths, leaps and bounds to acquire wealth and power. The galaxy that Mythos know had no shortages of men and creatures, warriors and mercenaries who would jump at the sign of a payday but would happily give a limb for the payday that would see them retire. Mythos had offered just that using the channels he had acquired in his time with the jackals.

One Million Credits in cash along with a small yet very mobile and equipped fleet to boot to any Organic being who could win a simple one on one fight with another organic in a home made fighting arena. That alone should have raised some eyebrows, that alone should have brought up questions as to why droids and none organic beings such as shards were not permitted to come but the payday was the only thing in the minds of the five hundred strong army that came searching for that payday. Mythos was counting on greed, the one thing he knew would not let him down, the one thing that he knew that men like these could not overcome.

Greed would be their death.

Mythos was a man of his word, should any of them prove victorious they would indeed leave with the riches promised and more but the enemy that they would face in single combat or perhaps even with their entire crew was none other than Animus Malgus himself.

The planet was not old but it once held life. What little information Mythos had gathered from it's abandoned outposts suggest it had a global military and the force was more of a cult but other than that nothing could be found about the history of this planet on its surface or in the database of any planet in its near vicinity. the dark side of the force was oppressive in the chasm that Mythos had chosen to take abode in, something had happened here that was indescribable in it's nature. The chasm was hundreds if not thousands of feet deep past what the eye could see, several walkways of stone from the top to the bottom crossed giving passage from the dark corridors of the caves that surrounded it.

It was maze of stone and dirt as far as the eye could see without a single speck of light other than the gray sky eternally looming over the cave. Mythos stood immobile in the middle of one of these stone walkways with no hand guards staring to the bottomless pit beneath his boots and meditating on what he was about to do. No lightsaber accompanied him in this battle, only the Rudis of the Dark lord in his right hand, the Blade of Satvas and the Blade of the Sith Assassins. A black cloak hung over his head in traditional Sith fashion but it was tight and did not flow like a cape or a robe. He wore practical clothes for what was going to be the most difficult challenge of his own life.

He could hear the engines of ships above head roaring hard and already the numerous contenders for the treasure began huddling and making their own camp a few miles from the entrance to the chasm to which there was only one. Upon their arrival they would meet with one imposing and terrifying Anubian warlord. He was Rashakarahm, Ancient Warrior of the Dynasty before Ankharabis, Bane of Life and he was here to give the warriors who sought to fight Mythos the instructions and pre requisites to enter the melee. The rules were simple, the only weapons you could not bring were explosives and firepower larger than thermal detonator, other than that there were no rules and there was no limit to the amount of weapons or the kind of weapons you were to bring.

Trandoshans smiled in glee at the idea and Mythos knew the scorekeepers sons would be the first to take the up the challenge not due to the money but for the sheer thrill. Others were Jedi outcasts who knew this was indeed Mythos and sought to kill him here in his own terrain and put a stop to him once and for all. Bounty hunters of all races of the galaxy were here with weapons and armor that ranged from Beskar to Songsteel and from desintergators to slug throwers.

They still thought this was just an arena... No Ysalamiri apart from a very few.

When the Anubian finished his brief he announced that all already had a number and they would enter in said order. Datapads were distributed and the announcement that the melee would begin in the morning was heard. The crowd was impatient, no tolerance of in fighting would be given so the Anubian said and before he left he warned a single time one simple thing.

"No one Leaves Until they have won. No one activates communicators of any kind. The Eye sees everything, we hear everything. Do not tempt us"

It was then the entire fleet of the Ancient Eye appeared over head.

It had begun.

Mythos was in deep meditation throughout the entirety of his stay overnight inside the chasm alone. He focused on the force, fell into it, let the dark side of the force cloud everything around the warriors who outside were just waiting to be led inside and slaughtered one by one. Day broke or at least he thought it did, the gray sky never changed in this planet, the clouds over head simply became less dim as his eyes opened. The fear that the pretenders had was palpable and to a Sith Lord it was like eating a full and healthy breakfast with so much condensed fear and restlesness that hung above them.

Some, seasoned warriors as they were, took their chance to sleep eat and rest before the day ahead as they knew their number was early but some, the more young and inexperienced found it hard to sleep with the blank eyes of Anubians around them and the fleet that now hung ominously. they sensed a trap and so they should have but they knew that if they simply were to die then they would have simply died not with such looming firepower overhead.

At the crack of dawn the Bane of Life, Warlord Rashakharam stood in the tall stone before the entrance of the chasm and called out the first five participants in order. A Mandalorian named Echit, a Trandosha, A wookie and two human siblings. Instantly they protested of why they had to go in pairs or as a team when the contests had said it would be a single combat event. The Anubian said nothing, his eyes simply met what he considered Mortals until they entered of their own volition the stone maze that was the chasm. Once the team had entered the maze the Anubian stepped down and in front of the entrance to guard it until told otherwise by something the people there could not readily see.

The lack of real answers and the strange nature of it all drove some to anger and even desperation but the lack of options now eventually made them calm down. The team however found themselves in a black maze that held only one light and it came from the sky. The humans had been intelligent and had brought night vision devices in order to be capable of handling a dark battle, the trandoshan did not need one as his sense of smell, hearing and sight was better than most anything but the wookie was blind deaf and dumb going in and the bumping of his massive frame in the tight holes of the cavern could be heard yards away.

The humans and the Trandoshan... wisely moved away from the Wookie. The weakest link was left behind and cut off as they moved forward in a "Rolling T" formation and began canning the entire area they called a base. Setting up a parameter, they quickly followed the light that lead them to one of the many walk ways above the chasm. The humans looked at each other and nodded to the trandoshan who was watching their six.

Out of the corner of their eyes they saw the wookie in the other side of the walk way. They did not have time to worry, they did not even react to his presence other than to acknowledge his location and continue moving but before they could continue their pace they saw the wookie twitch and make a noise wookies did not make. They stopped moving, snapping back as the trandoshan smelled something that wasn't wookie just before they saw the furry head of the massive bounty hunter wookie slide off and bounce in ground before it's massive body followed suit.

Behind it... was a figure with yellow eyes and two blades in it's hands.

Blastfire sounded clearly for miles, the echo of the chasm amplified the sound and flash of the fire that descended upon Mythos as soon as the three warriors saw him behind the decapitated and falling body of the wookie soldier. He did not stay around to deflect the oncoming fire as it was overwhelming instead he opted to dive back into the shadows and through the dark corridors as the fire team pushed forward to close the distance and give chase. The trio bounded forward and searched the immediate parameter around the corpse of the dead wookie. The say only shadows and the splattered blood of their dead teammate around the walls. They felt rather confident at this time, their opponent was merely an melee assassin, they thought, no blasters or big weapons of any kind armed the warrior while they were armed to the teeth with high tech weaponry and devices.

It was then they decided to split up and cover only the immediate corridors as to always have someone in sight that was friendly. They had the numbers, they thought, so now they would use them as they scanned the corridors and combed their immediate surroundings. They did not get far before they could no longer see each other a few feet away, the human male, the oldest of the siblings gave a hand signal meaning he would move just a bit forward to the next intersection of tunnels to see if they could move forward together from their respective tunnels and still see each others.

He did so in a lightning quick dash, used his rifle as his eyes, poking it out as the camera inside the rifle was showing in his HUD annd saw that the tunnel was clear. He snapped his fingers twice and his sibling moved forward with the trandoshan together and met up by a large single tunnel that broke off at each end. They grouped up together again and bean moving deeper into the tunnel this time meaning to reach where the tunnel broke off and scan that area as well, never breaking off one another and never giving up the advantage of numbers that they had. Mythos watched them from the shadows, using force sight with his eyes closed several tunnels deeper preparing to strike. The blood of the wookie dripped from his Rudis as he crouched and moved with absolute silence, every step he took to close the distance with the group was carefully calculated to stalk them like a predator.

They thought they hunted Mythos but instead they themselves were being hunted down and they did not realize that just a few feet away through stone was their predator. The Trandoshan did, he smelled something close yet because there three feet of solid stone between himself and Mythos he thought he was headed the right way. He lost the scent several hundred meters away. When they arrived at the end of the tunnel they were in they realized it broke off into more than a dozen other passageways, it was then they realized this chasm was man made and used for something long ago.

It took them a few seconds to decide what to do, The Siblings took a right and the trandoshan watched their six o clock blocking any entrance to the tunnel they took. It bbroke off again into another several entrances, this time one Sibling acted a bit too fast and was slightly jittery when he did so as he thought he saw something moving. His brother looked at him as he poked his head in the entrance and the only thing he saw was the blade of the Rudis go clear through the skull of his own flesh and blood. He reacted quickly putting his muzzle inside the hole and attempting to blast anything and everything inside that tunnel, the Trandoshan hearing the commotion turned around and sprinted to where they were but because of the tight corridors he fought that a lot harder than it looked.

Mythos saw the rifle coming in and did not hesitate on grabbing the muzzle and pulling it in using his entire body as an anchor. When he yanked the limp body of the human acted as a a trip wire and the man fell face first as the sling of his rifle worked against him. The man fell screaming in Huttsese right into the blade of Satvas that sliced his throat and spilled his blood all over the stone floor. Seconds passed and the Trandoshan made it to the intersection but it was too late, Mythos had regained his footing and shifted his focus on him, extending one hand to unleash a force of Telekinetic might that slammed the massive lizard against the stone on the other side of the small room in the edge that split two corridors together.

It was not enough to stop him, the trandoshan rose up with his rifle aimed chest level but Mythos jumped using the bodies of his fallen foes and the last thing the warrior saw was the image of a massive man coming down upon him. Mythos plunged the rudis deep into his chest using his own body weight and momentum to carve down into the belly of the beast then in a switch movement yank out slice the throat, stab the heart and punch the nose. He was dead before he hit the ground...

"Four..."

The first wave of warriors went against Mythos has been dealt with, the first wave of bodies had been brought down and their blood now soaked the stone of the chasm. Mythos did not need to let anyone know to send the next batch in, the Anubian warriors of The Ancient Eye had seers and force wielding warriors meditating on the loss of life inside of the chasm and as soon as the lives that they had sent inside were snuffed out by the blades of Mythos they would tell The Bane of Life at the gates to let the next batch of warriors in. He did just that, The Massive Anubian Warrior at the gate stepped aside and called out the names of the next four warriors to come forth and step inside. The warriors and bouty hunters, scavengers and smugglers had seen and heard the flash and bang of blaster rifles and also noticed that as soon as they began they were snuffed out in a matter of minutes.

Their fear was palpable to both Mythos and Rashakharam and although Rasha was not one to smile he indeed felt comfort in the fact that their fear would allow his master an edge in combat, not that he needed one. Mythos on the other hand whipped the blood from his blades and walked into the shadows deeper into the cavernous depths, this time hoping that the team would break off and walk alone instead of working as a team. To his suprise they would

the team that walked in, this time, had no love for each other and none of them knew each other nor desired to work with one another. A duro with a jetpack and several good weapons walked in first. "No need to worry, I'll have this done in a few minutes and you can come work for me afterwords" He said arrogantly, striding forward in a quick pace from the group. The Mandalorian man behind him scoffed, shaking his head and clenching his flamethrower close to his chest. "I'll char your remains when you get killed... Save us all the hassle."

Behind the first two colorful characters was a black cloaked man with a pale skin who knew exactly what was waiting for them on the other side, beside him a cheerful agent of the the Galactic Alliance with nothing but his blaster, a rifle and magazines filled with ammunition. "What do you say we work together and split the payday? I think we both know who is waiting for us behind this entrance" He said, sparking the ear of Rasha for a flash of a second. "it would make sense, Sith Lords are notoriously hard to kill"

the man under the cloak did not even look at the youth, his blue eyes staring into the faded out and torn leather that hid the Assasssins face. "if i were you, I'd hide and run. If he finds an Agent of the Galactic alliance here he will do more than just kill you."

With that. He wallked forward slowly into the abyss. "What a cheerful fellow..."

The Duro rode in first with his weapons at the ready, he was smart enough to bring with him night and thermal vision so there was nothing that could escape his sight. Behind him the mandalorian with the rather large weapon system and also the ability to see in the night. Together they passed through the stone of the caverns one by one but it was not long before the Duro bounty hunter caught sight of the heat signature not two stories of stone above him. Mythos was not intent on hiding for this fight, there was no purpose, if they could see him, he could see them using the power of force sight. The duro was not keen on spiting the bounty four way, he activated his jetpack and with a loud resounding boom sped off to meet his prey, dual pistols in hand and blasters ringing. Mythos awaited in a cave with a single entrance that lead inside the more complex cavern. Hearing the blaster fire the two straggling men came to meet the mandalorian in the middle of the bridge only to find him casually smoking a cigar as if he was waiting on something to happen soon.

He looked up to see blaster fire being shot in and blasters being shot back but he did not hear a second blaster rifle or pistol leaving him to think that somehow the blaster fire was being redirected. "Huh, Jedi or Sith. This is going to be a hard won payday" He said to himself before flicking the cigar down the chasm and walking into the cavern. "It is a Sith and it will be more than just a hard won payday." Said the black robed man, revealing the inside of his cloak to be a light tunic with silver strands and a brooch of silver in his cloak in the shape of a silver hand. "A Sith you say? Do you know which Sith we are talking about?" the agent said, interrupting with a cheerful and calm demeanor.

Up in the second floor of the cavern Mythos casually deflected several blaster bolts and rode inside the cavern fusing himself with the shadows. The duro, sensing the advantage threw in several cluster bombs inside causing a cave in on instant impact of the explosives. The rubble began to tumble and for a second the Duro was sure of his victory, not seeing any heat signatures apart from the heat that the bombs let off and the smoke that cleared his vision.... but he was wrong. Seconds after the bombs went off he noticed the heat signature again in the same place as when he was shooting at it only it was blurred because of the amount of stone between him and his foe. Mythos did not relent, not was when he was going to kill him.

Using his mastery in Telekinesis Mythos launched the stones of the avalanche straight at him sending several massive stones in his direction. The Duro severed to dodge the majority of them but a single stone caught his back plat of the jet pack and ignited the exhaust of it sending him spiraling to the other side of the cavern. Upon impacting with the stone wall at the other side the jetpack ignited and detonated, sending charred remains of Duro flying everywhere but most importantly for Mythos... Blood.

He stepped out of the cavern and looked down to where the remaining three were located, looking down he saw two soldiers, and a jedi. He smiled. The jedi's soul would more than just do. Upon seeing him and getting a lock the mandalorian and the agent began opening fire but Mythos retreated back into the cave fast enough to avoid the hail of plasma coming his way. "That is Lord Mythos, i suggest both of you leave and let me deal with him" the jedi said, igniting his blue lightsaber and calmly waking forward.

The agents eyes popped open. He was supposed to be dead! This information would be invaluable for the alliance, to kill him now before he could grow in strength and cause damage to innocents. If he could bring him down this was an assured promotion. The mandalorian instead shrugged and shouldered his weapon. "Never heard of her."

Deep into the cavern the trio went, each of them activating their systems and detecting the heat signatures of anything that moved around here but Mythos had that covered. With a spark from his hand he ignited a flame that spread through the cave and it's torches illuminating the colossal chasm each passing second. He stepped back into the caves, casually brushing off the ash and debris from the rocks off his armor and wiping the blood off his blade as he prepared to kill yet again. He walked in direction to his enemy, specifically the Jedi agent, knowing that he would want to close with and end this battle now, a was their nature. The bounty hunters and the mandalorian would not be far behind, not wanting their paycheck to go into the pockets of some high class jedi knight or agent, whatever the title may be.

Mythos knew what to expect and the Jedi was not as unpredictable as he thought. The Mandalorian noticed first that his thermal sights were not working anymore he took the whole HUD off to adjust to the brightness while the Jedi broke into a light jog into the caverns, arriving to a certain point, igniting his lightsaber and force jumping a full story to the area of the cave Mythos was in and to his surprise, Mythos was there waiting for him.

The Mandalorian only began to move with haste behind the jedi and his ally in toe when the sound of clashing lightsabers could be heard. He ignited his jetpack and flew to the height where the duro had been blasted off, right into the cave created by the cluster bombs. Behind him was the agent, pistol in hand and looking for a more unconventional route up. The Jedi however, he was not here to mince words, he was a Jedi Knight of the Silver Hand and Mythos met him with his Rudis in hand.

The initial first contact with their blades were quick and precise, The Jedi using Shi-Cho to block Mythos' faster Ataru/Juyo combinations however after Mythos got his momentum going he pushed the jedi back to the edge as the Mandalorian came up with his jetpack and began firing with his rifle at the Sith Lord. Mythos smiled as he saw the Beskar clad warrior, diving to the right to avoid the blaster fire while deflecting lightsaber strikes and blaster bolts with his Rudis. He waited for his shot and it was not long before the Jedi gave it to him, one thrust allowed him to strike the jedi with his elbow and position himself between the Jedi and the Mandalorian.

The beskar clad warrior shifted his position to his right, the Jedi shrugged off the blow and struck again clashing with Mythos' rudis but Mythos was ready. He angled his rudis to glance off the blow and throwing the lightsaber to the right, then again to deflect it to the left opening his opponent up for a rapid combo of strikes. Mythos moved with force enhanced speed, he sliced open the arm of his opponent, ducking the second slash of Shi-Cho then coming in with a Juyo routine that struck his neck, chest, removed his arm and then ended with a roundhouse kick that threw the dying jedi off the edge of the cave.

Mythos did not stop moving, he ducked and dived out of the way as the mandalorian blasted him with his rifle. Once he had to reload Mythos stood on top of the ruble and extended his hand. The Mandalorian pointed his wrist mounted flamethrower at him but Mythos was faster, he made his hand into a fist. As the flame launched from the device Mythos crushed the nozzle of the same causing the device to ignite and consume the Mandalorian in flame. The Mandalorian screamed, desperately trying to extinguish the flames of his body while floating with his jetpack but Mythos ran to the edge with the Rudis in his hand.

For a second their eyes met, Mythos flung himself from the ledge at the flying Mandalorian with his Rudis in an inverted grip. The warriors' eyes popped open as far as they could before Mythos decapitated him, his body still burning and flying while his head was flung down into the abyss.
