DESCRIPTION

Since rejoining the greater galactic community, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has been encountering Force-Sensitives in far larger numbers than anticipated. Men like Ronhar Tane Ronhar Tane have found themselves face to face with both Jedi and Sith, oftentimes engaging in personal combat with them. To effectively fight these threats, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has begun investing in anti-force technologies, producing a number of different weapons that are specifically tailored to take down Jedi and Sith.

Unfortunately, because they are so specialized, anti-force weapons may not always have any additional applications outside of fighting other force users. To address this issue, the Imperial Remnant as developed the AAF-8 Scattergun. Because it is both a Slugthrower and a Scatter gun, the AAF-8 is capable of utilizing a variety of different ammunition types, such as Buckshot, Metallic slugs, Flechettes and many others. In particular, the weapon's ability to use Micro-grenades makes it a versatile and dangerous weapon.

That being said, the weapon does have a number of disadvantages. It is heavy, has a short range, low rate of fire and limited magazine capacity. Knowing how to best use the weapon in spite of it weaknesses will allow its user to get the most out of the AAF-8 Scattergun, whether fighting force users or non-force users.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Railgun.
  • Size: Small.
  • Weight: Heavy.
  • Ammunition Type: Metallic Projectiles.
  • Ammunition Capacity:
    • Extremely Small, 1 projectile. (Magazine size)
    • Large, 60 shots. (Battery capacity)
  • Effective Range: Average.
  • Rate of Fire: Very Low.
  • Damage Output: Very High.
  • Recoil: High.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The weapon must be "charged" for a few seconds before it can fire
  • Can theoretically fire any metallic projectile that fits within the confines of its barrel
STRENGTHS
  • Surprisingly accurate
  • Immense destructive potential
  • Relatively compact for a weapon of its type
  • The weapon's high projectile speed makes it difficult to dodge
  • Can theoretically fire any type of metallic projectile that fits within its barrel
  • Dedicated ammunition is relatively small and lightweight, allowing for larger amounts of it to be carried when compared to traditional rocket and missile launchers
WEAKNESSES
  • Extremely small magazine size
  • Incredibly loud and highly noticeable when fired
  • Requires a separate battery system in addition to its physical ammunition
  • Horrendous recoil when fired, which is made worse by the lack of a functioning stock
  • The weapon has a frighteningly slow rate of fire, and must be "charged" for several seconds between each shot
  • Though the weapon is effective against droids, heavily armored soldiers and light vehicles, it is less effective against heavier vehicles, requiring multiple shots to destroy these types of targets
DESCRIPTION

Created at the request of Salvage Team Six, the GHE 85x2 was designed to defeat heavily armored opponents while itself remaining relatively light and compact, though the weapon is still rather heavy to carry for extended periods of time. That being said, it is much lighter and easier to use than most comparable rocket and missile launchers, and its ammunition is especially small and easy to carry, making it ideal for use by specialist units like Salvage Team Six.

The GHE 85x2 operates on the Railgun principle, accelerating projectiles through the use of electromagnetic rails. This allows the projectiles fired by the GHE 85x2 to achieve remarkably high velocities, making them effective against droids, heavily armored soldiers and light vehicles such as scout walkers. Though the GHE 85x2 is specifically designed to fire oversized Quarrels, the weapon is theoretically capable of firing any sort of metallic projectile that can fit within the confines of the barrel.

While the GHE 85x2 remains a potent anti-armor weapon, it is not without flaw. The weapon's single shot capacity, combined with its need to "charge" every shot and horrendous recoil makes it unsuited to rapid engagements, forcing its users to make every shot count. The weapon's damage also falls off against heavier vehicles, requiring multiple shots to destroy these types of targets. Nonetheless, the GHE 85x2 remains a potent threat against many types of unarmored and armored targets.

  • Relatively good damage capabilities
  • Can easily be fired with one or two hands
  • Surprisingly good range for a weapon of its size
  • Variable projectile velocity allows for stealth applications
  • Mag-pellets have a limited homing ability against metallic targets
WEAKNESSES
  • Expensive to produce and maintain
  • High rate of fire can easily deplete magazine reserves
  • Awkward magazine placement makes the weapon difficult to reload
  • The magazine doubles as the stock, which can make shouldering the weapon tricky
  • The weapon's Mag-pellets can accidentally lock on to friendly targets if the user is not careful
  • The weapon's lock-on feature does not work against non-metallic targets, being ineffective against Plastoid and organic-based armors

The EGR-16 represents the culmination of months of research and development by the Imperial Remnant in anti-force technology. Developed specifically for use by Salvage Team Six, the EGR-16 is capable of engaging a variety of different threats within a number of different scenarios, making it a true "jack of all trades" type weapon. The secret to the weapon's versatility lies in its construction and preferred ammunition type, as the EGR-16 can be classified as both a Magrifle and a Magnetic accelerator type weapon.

This allows the EGR-16 to fire its Mag-pellet ammunition with varying velocities, enabling the weapon to either shoot nearly silently or fire with increased stopping power. This, coupled with the Mag-pellets ability to home in on and track metal targets and the EGR-16's impressive rate of fire makes the EGR-16 a highly capable weapon, especially against force users whose enhanced speed and reflexes might otherwise pose problems.

Nonetheless, the EGR-16's greatest strengths are also its main weaknesses, as the weapon's prestigious rate of fire and ability to lock onto metal targets greatly increases its chances of accidentally committing friendly fire. Regardless, this is a small price to pay for such an impressive weapon's system, and it is hoped that the EGR-16 will finally give Salvage Team Six the decisive advantage they need over their many enemies.
