STRENGTHS

POWERSHOT - The Powershot system allows for more powerful "punch" to each shot. This is what gives the capability to convert this weapon efficiently into "Sniper" mode.

ONE MAN/WOMAN ARMY - Converts to different modes with different parts added to base Blaster Mode, making this a weapon capable of multiple roles.

LIGHTWEIGHT - The light weight of the weapon is an A2800 staple, but considering the capabilities of those weapon, that is saying something.

WEAKNESSES

DOWNRANGE - Cannot change modes quickly, must carry the parts with you to convert modes.

SNIPER - This is a powerful mode, but when converting to it, the sites must be reset every time, and one cannot simply aim and fire quickly.

NO AUTO - A failing of the weapon is the need to do away with the "Automatic Fire" capability in order to be of any efficiency

DESCRIPTION

The A280-CFE (covert field edition) convertible heavy blaster pistol, also known as an A280-CFE blaster rifle or simply a A280-CFE blaster, was a modular version of the A280 blaster rifle. It featured a core pistol that could be reconfigured into an assault rifle or sniper rifle. Captain Cassian Andor used an A280-CFE during the Ghorman Massacre, the Battle on Jedha, the mission to Eadu, and the Battle of Scarif. The A280-CFE convertible heavy blaster pistol featured an over-sized frame sporting the familiar, boxy design known by BlasTech enthusiasts. The CFE could quickly reconfigure into a blaster rifle through two attachments. Initially designed during the Clone Wars, the CFE was popular with the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Fulcrum agents during the Galactic Civil War. A forward-facing barrel and housing unit with a multi-optic scope clipped on over the pistol barrel, and a buttstock slid into the back to convert the pistol into rifle mode. The added length and stability improved accuracy, while enhanced Galven-patterns increased penetration and cohesion. Unfortunately, the CFE had to use low-powered eleton gas, as the nature of the clip-on barrel precluded using higher-powered gases. While this is a weapon for all of the Hidden Path, this particular model is designed with the Operational Branch of Section C in mind.
