A Zeltrochiss & a Zabrak Walk Into a Bar... (Zatten Black)

"You being so agreeable makes me wonder exactly what you've got hidden in this walker of yours, not to mention your ship. I might have to take a look around tomorrow, when I'm not quite so tired." Kadrak glanced around the cockpit regardless before looking back to him. "Any kind of machinery has always interested me. It's more fun to take things apart and try to piece them back together to get a real idea of how they work, but I only do that when I have some free time on my hands. Otherwise it can get a bit tedious, always having to repair things before you can use them."
She flashed a half-smile. "I'm sure you're a decent mechanic as well. This walker of yours wouldn't be in such good condition if you weren't. Either that, or you've got the credits to pay for any tune ups."

"I'm not opposed to getting my hands dirty. But I only designed the walker, not physically built it. But I can take credit for the old girl still being as good as she is."

I laughed, and shrugged.

"I have gadgets and gizmos everywhere. If you can find 'em, go ahead and play around with them."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

Kadrak nodded appreciatively at both the walker's design and the fact that he had gadgets stowed away in plain sight. "You'll have to show me a few of your tricks to keeping things up and running sometime. I'm always partial to learn more about mechanical upkeep, especially with a vehicle of this size. I don't think I've ever had cause to work on a walker. A small cruiser at best is what I've gotten my hands on, but I have this feeling you'll definitely change things."
She studied her surroundings more carefully now, scrutinizing for panels that would be able to hide away a cache of technology, along with those that would be hiding right in front of her. "I'd be interested in seeing what you've managed to get your hands on. Someone like you certainly has a few pieces that are more than rare around the galaxy."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Small cruiser, huh? Can't say I've ever gotten my hands on one of those. I would've probably crashed it into something. I'm a really terrible star pilot."

I grinned, and stepped back a little, coincidentally right on the panel that had my armor hidden under it.

"I have plenty of toys that you'd never see anywhere else. Of course, I fall under that list, too."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

"A bad pilot, yet you have this walker and a ship you've told me about. You have to be a better pilot than what you're letting on, for that. Or perhaps you're just good at faking it." Kadrak shrugged. "To be fair, I don't fly either. I just fix up the ships for everyone else, and maybe hitch a ride on a transport to get to my next destination. I've never bothered with buying one, because I've always managed to get myself from point A to point B. And, well, fixing things is always more interesting than flying them."
She tilted her head curiously. "So you consider yourself under that list too, huh? I've gotten into the habit of not considering people objects, myself, but whatever ti is that makes you happy, I suppose. Now, what exactly are these toys of yours?"

[member="Zatten Black"]

I laughed, and shook my head.

"I'm really not good with ships. Driving a walker, or even sometimes an airspeeder, is totally different for me."

I glanced around, trying to see if anything was readily available to show Kadrak.

"Off the top of my head, my armor is definitely something I consider unusual, as are most of my weird tech designs. A gun with a lightsaber-ish thing to act as a bayonet. Lots of fun little tidbits that explode. And the walker, of course."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

"An airspeeder is similar enough to a ship, and you have to fly it besides. Which, by that logic, makes you a good enough pilot of sorts. Or so my train of thought dictates. Take that as you will." Kadrak grinned and stood, stretching momentarily. "I wouldn't mind learning how to pilot, I guess, but it isn't on the top of my list. I'd rather take a class on learning how to rig this or that upgrade to a ship, myself. Regardless of the fact that they're most likely less than legal. That just makes things more interesting, after all." She winked.
"You had me at explosives. Though the bayonet idea certainly interests me. I haven't had the chance to take a lightsaber apart just yet, but from what I've managed to read the hilt is the thing that contains the mechanisms responsible for limiting the length of the blade and moderating the heat of the cutting edge. It seems like the blaster would have to be almost unwieldy big in order for it to contain the components necessary for both the lightsaber and the blaster to function properly."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Who said anything about a blaster? It's a shotgun, with a huge laser blade sticking out of the front of it. Sure, it's huge, but I made it for me."

I shrugged, and laughed.

"Of course, I could just tie a lightsaber to any old gun, and get the same thing."

I winked, and walked closer to Kadrak again. Very close.

"Had you at explosives, huh? So, basically, I could have been this close to you since then, and I was too thick to realize. I'll have to fix that."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

Kadrak grinned and sidled up to him once he stepped closer to him. "I wouldn't say too thick to realize, necessarily. But I definitely don't mind this new, up close view. It doesn't hurt things, not at all. In fact..." She stretched up on her tiptoes to press a kiss just to the side of his mouth, pulling back just a bit with a wink. "Of course, you can always be close to me if you wish. I don't mind at all. Though you'd better be careful. Wouldn't want to make anyone too jealous, you know." She smiled.
She laughed quietly. "I wouldn't recommend just tying a lightsaber to a blaster. I don't know much about the Jedi weapons, as they're called, but it doesn't seem like too bright of an idea. And yes, I'm a bit of a fan of explosives. Subtlety is fun and all, but sometimes it's nicer for things to go out with a bang and a flourish."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"A blaster wouldn't be the stupidest thing I've tied a lightsaber to. Tried to use one as a grappling hook, once. The wall of City Hall was never quite the same again."

I winked at Kadrak, grinning.

"Bang and a flourish, huh? Pardon me if I wasn't thinking of a bomb after that statement. But, yes, explosions are pretty. Like fireworks."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

"I might not know the most about lightsabers, but I do know that they're supposed to be able to cut through virtually anything, and they aren't much in the habit of stopping once they start. So a grappling hook wouldn't be the best use I could think think of. But it's certainly not the worst." Kadrak winked with a smile at the thought of the attempt, and the aftermath of such a thing as well, namely the reaction of the officials and the consequences she could only imagine. "Sounds like a fun enough time to me, though. I can only imagine."
She winked and stuck her tongue out at him. "What exactly is it you're thinking of, then? Now that you say it, an explosion isn't what I had in mind either. I definitely wouldn't mind watching one or two. And fireworks don't sound like a bad idea either. I prefer to manage my own, though, instead of having to pay for them. Much less expensive, and a whole lot more fun."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Let's hope you only have to imagine it. That was not a fun experience. I've never had to run away from an officer when I was not fully clothed before or since. I wanna keep it that way."

I grinned at the thought, and held onto Kadrak for a bit.

"We'll see what kind of explosion we can make, huh?"

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

"I sense quite a tale behind that statement, but I won't pry. It's interesting enough for me to imagine it, let alone hear the story. I have a few theories of my own, however." Kadrak winked. "Hopefully we'll have a few exciting tales of our own to tell after a few months. Or maybe that's an overstatement, and a few weeks would be a better guess. Depending on just what trouble we decide to get into while we're here, and at our next stop on Coruscant. I'll do my best not to upset any officials, but I can't make any promises either."
She grinned and slid her hand up his arm to gently rest her hand on the back of his neck. "I don't mind the idea at all. I'm sure between the two of us we'll be able to come up with something more than a little interesting. This is us we're talking about, after all."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Weeks?"

I bent down to kiss Kadrak, and then kept my mouth near her ear.

"I think days might be more accurate. I always seem to overstay my welcome on Coruscant."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

A slow grin broke out on her face. "Oh, I'm perfectly fine with that. I'd be happy to help you out with overstaying that welcome. Especially when it comes to upsetting all of the right - and sometimes wrong - people. Because then you have all the interesting bar and street fights, not to mention the possibility of nearly getting killed around every corner. So, you know, nothing too unusual for us considering all that happened tonight. And from all of your untold stories, I'm going to assume that you've gotten into your fair share of interesting fights as well."
She kissed him then, for just a few moments longer than he had her. "Now I'm seeing what you mean about those explosions. And I'd be lying if I told you I'm not enjoying the entire experience."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Some interesting fights, huh? Why not just fly down into the underworld and insult anything that moves. We'll eventually run into a gangster of some kind. Getting insults screamed back at us in Huttese would just be an added bonus."

I smiled, and held Kadrak a little bit closer.

"Tell me that again in the morning, m'lady."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

"I'm afraid I don't speak Huttese, though I might have to brush up on it just for the sake of that. I do know Zabraki, however, so I can shout insults back in a just as confusing language that they probably won't understand. So now that we're even with whatever theoretical gangster we ran into or may run into in the underworld of Coruscant..." Kadrak smiled, pressing closer to him with a wink and another coy smile.
She tilted her head as she looked into his eyes for a long moment. "That sounds like a challenge to me, and one I'm all too happy to accept. We'll just have to see about things in the morning, now won't we?"

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Zabraki, huh? I speak Chiss. We'll confuse each other almost as much as the people we're insulting. But I don't particularly mind, and I suspect you don't either."

I rested my forehead on Kadrak's, a spiky perch, but one I enjoyed.

"I suppose, yes, the morning will make things clearer than they are now. But I don't mind the night. You're here, after all."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

Kadrak blinked slowly awake in the morning, not quite recalling when she’d crawled under the blanket next to Zatten. There were worse things to be confused about, she figured, and this situation wasn’t on that list by any means. “I hate to disappoint, but I still did enjoy those explosions of ours.” She muttered this to no one in particular, not even sure if he was awake just yet, smiling all the same.
It had been an interesting night, to say the least, but she hadn’t expected anything less to begin with. But now that morning had come they had an entire day to spend as they would, and she was intent on getting outside and exploring the city, or otherwise beginning their flight to Coruscant. Whatever happened, she knew a bit of fresh air was necessary before they confined themselves to a ship or something similar.
She shifted her position to face him, waiting patiently for him to awaken or roll over himself.

[member="Zatten Black"]

Kadrak turned to face me, and my eyes snapped open. They were completely red, as they sometimes turned when I was asleep, but I still grinned and reached out a hand to brush her face.

"Can't say I'm disappointed, either. I definitely had more fun than I would've having the blanket and the walker to myself."

I leaned over and kissed Kadrak.

"Do you want to actually rest for a bit, or should we get to the ship?"
