UNKNOWN PLANET, POTENT IN THE FORCE
An encounter with Vanya Aklin Vanya Aklin

PART 1

Aridius and the others of his Stormtrooper squad hiked through the unnamed planet. It was potent with the Force, a land of nature and mountainsides that the NIO scouting party found themselves at odds with. They had a vehicle with them, a scouting walker that scanned the horizons with a most tired crew inside. The Stormtroopers and vehicle-in-tow have been moving for days now, yet to arrive at their destination which was a relic of an old civilization destroyed by the virus of old. There were rumors that its owners were a Nightsister Coven, utilizing the land rich in the force to fulfill their sorcery and whatever dark spells that Nightsisters were up to. It was a sore note for Aridius- they just left Dathomir itself, homeworld to the Nightsisters and every one of their Covens. BANG-BANG-BANG! He kept on thinking about a certain Nightsister's face. Implanted into his mind, as if the Force itself wanted to remind him of her.

While Aridius was lost in thought, suddenly.. "WATCH OUT!"- an avalanche! Rocks both large and small began to rain down upon the Imperials. Swallowing many of the Squad and even the vehicle into the ravine below. He was lucky; for in his thoughts, Aridius was left free of the rocks- but for the others, not so much. { Blast it! } Aridius thought, now left to nothing but himself and his thoughts. A journey he now had to take alone.

Aridius continued along, approaching an ancient temple. This in particular was perfect for all eyes, Sith or Jedi or Nightsister; a place well focused into the Force around all. That's what NIO wanted to know more of- Aridius' objective was to scout out the perimeter, seeing if it was worthwhile for more important figures like Imperial Knights to investigate.

Now alone, Aridius approaches the structure- a place where
Vanya may have set up shop.

The lone Stormtrooper would walk into its opened doorway- the distant sounds of the waterfalls clouding anything inside the lonesome structure. Droids maintained it's internals, making sure the place was clean and well-dusted. It was a temple dedicated to rituals and so on after all. He would be scouring the place from head to toe, this is where he may encounter Vanya.. Or, if Vanya would've met him somewhere else- it matters not.

There were many things that the Nightmother could not abide by. She could not stand being underestimated. She could not stand men that did not know their place. And she could not stand people interrupting her business or putting their noses where it was not wanted or needed. And that was precisely what was happening right now. Vanya had come to the planet with the intention of uncovering the secrets this temple held and she had been content to make the journey alone.

But when she had sensed the group moving toward the structure she now stood within, she had known that was no longer possible. It was only a matter of time before they arrived--though as nature would have it only one would survive the journey.

The Nightmother did not move from where she stood within an inner sanctum; the walls lined with sconces of flickering flames and cobwebs hanging in the corners. The odour of ten thousand rains that had soaked into the stone clung to the air. Hidden beneath closed eyelids obsidian eyes blazed in annoyance. Stormtrooper. She almost scoffed out loud but refrained. To do so would be to announce her presence within the temple in a way that was quite unfitting.

She rolled her shoulders as a frostbitten breeze swept through the stone halls, which contrasted with the sudden warmth as every making candle, scones, and hearth came alive with flames. Both had been her doing, a hot and cold greeting as the Stormtrooper first stepped over the threshold. "If this was my castle," Her voice echoed through the halls while her lips did not move. "You would be executed for entering without permission."

PART 1

Aridius, hearing the voice of the Nightmother, send chills down his spine. The last time he heard such ways of magic, the Force even, was on Dathomir. Dathomirians, cunning as they are a cold and lethal people- she could be behind him, and he wouldn't even know. He carried a heavy-blaster with him, instantly pulling it up upon entering the water-soaked temple. It was cold, the breeze of the outside seemingly put to a halt upon the presence of the Nightmother. Intermixed with the cold however, were the many candles that suddenly lit the way of the Temple. { Stay calm, stay calm.. } He wasn't calm.

"This is not your castle- show yourself."

If the Nightmother really was Dathomirian, Aridius knew that blatant defiance of their word would seek to atagonize. To have a male speak above their station was an insult to their entire Matriarchy. These thoughts were evident as he walked down the Temple, searching until he found the core; the location of the Nightmother to confront her directly. He totted the Blaster with him, it has seen many of her kind. Those who were loyal to the Sith, of course- he knew that there were more Nightsisters and other Dathomirians that abided by other codes than the Sith Empire.

She could sense that Aridius was force-sensitive, ticked during his time at the Dathomirian dominion. There was a tether to the Force, as if a Nightsister attempted to force-bond with him; but was killed midway, a hanging root that sought soil, but could find no tether. His aura, however, was of a young man. The boy had died only a few weeks ago. But that was of no concern to the Nightmother, for men were viewed as lower in their caste; at least, for most Nightsister Clans.

He was around 6' foot, strong and lean underneath the armor that he wore. Broad enough to toat around the Heavy-Blaster without much worry, light enough to be a Stormtrooper. Perhaps him being force-sensitive had a part to play in that, but not many knew. Underneath that cramped, ugly helmet, Aridius had chiseled features with well-cut black hair that almost appeared silky. Raised in the warm heart of his homeland,
Archais.

{ If she's of a higher caste than the ones you fought, she can kill you in an instant. Be on guard. }

He attempted to think of home, his first kiss, the endless savannah of his homeland and the sight of Imperial Star-Destroyers floating overhead. It brought him comfort, to think of home. It calmed his nerves, even if a little bit.
