A Wedding On Retalik: Take Two (Jak Sandrow)

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"Nope," Jak said enthusiastically. "Heck, I don't even know them all."

Finishing his steak off, he wiped his mouth and stood up. "Right, time we were off."

Leyan almost gratefully followed Jak out of the bar. She followed him through the village in the trees. The houses were surprisingly intricate. And there were a lot of them, too. She stayed close to Jak as they walked, looking around with interest.

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
When Jak felt her Force presence relax a little, he was relieved. He really didn't want to make the situation worse than it was.

"So... would you like to get acquainted with current technology at all?" he asked.

"There is certainly a lot more than any that I'm a familiar with. I hope I can take it all in without getting too confused...."

Leyan thought about it for a moment before replying.
"There is something I don't understand. Jak, why did you help me?"

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
Jak nodded slowly; he had expected the question to come, though maybe not this late. "Would you believe me if I told you that the Force told me to do it?"

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"It can, though it usually talks to you in the form of people you've known in the past, who are now dead." He said it like it had happened personally... because it had. He mulled it over, wondering how much he should reveal to her. "Though for you, the Force felt more like a rope attached to my chest, slowly tugging and pulling. When it stopped, I looked up... and there you were, hurtling toward the ground."

Leyan looked down at her skirt.
"I felt like it was my last chance.... As I stood on my balcony, ready to end it all, I felt something similar. It wasn't as strong as you describe it. But it was there. That feeling... It's what gave me the last bit of courage I needed to jump."

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"And in a way..." Jak mused, "you jumped to safety... sort of."

He let out a sharp breath. "Right... it's getting on for evening. We should head back to the ship."

Leyan sighed. It appeared that Jak was set in his ways as far as sleeping arrangements were concerned.
"If that's what you want. Is there anything else you want to do before we retire for the evening?"

Leyan had never been shopping before. Being royalty meant that other people either made or went out to get your clothes for you on Retalik. It would be interesting to see what it was like for normal people.
"I promise to be careful as to how much you spend. Though... I'm not entirely sure about the currency here."

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"That's alright... I'll take care of it."

Finding a suitable store, he ushered her in. "Find something that you like, that is comfortable and that you can potentially run in."

It was very convenient that there was a store that sold clothes here. Most of the Wookiees she'd seen were so hairy that they didn't wear anything. there must be so many people coming through here that they decided to open a place for them.
She started looking through everything, doing her best to figure out what clothes would fit her petite frame. After about an hour of careful searching, she finally found something that suited her. She looked at Jak.
"Is this alright?"
