A Warden's Call to Action

Lavigny Fynch

Guest
Lavigny still felt the pain, adrenaline or not, and was in no mood to play games.

Although Alex was sure to take her personal code of ethics seriously, the spacer did not share in her sense of justice.

"Why the hell are you asking me!?" She lashed out. Anger directed more towards her own wound than Alex herself. "He's not my problem. Kill him or don't, we're leaving this world either way."

She thought to herself that none of this would have happened at all if she just stuck to the task at hand. She could've gotten the parts and been off New Holstice just like that. By now the trandoshan's partner had to have been long gone, but their trouble was not yet over.

Now entering the cantina were three security officers dispatched to the commotion. Their insignia representing the planet's authority, but in truth they were all just hired guns like Alex was. New Holstice was an independent world, and most law enforcement was in the hands of private organizations and political machines. Everyone had an agenda, and out here there was little oversight to hold their hand.

One man, a scruffy gentleman, scratched his beard. "What have we here, eh?" His two goon--one short and the other tall--stood by with blaster rifles in hand. Their eyes panned the room like watchful drones, just itching for anyone to make the wrong move.

"A couple of trouble makers... heh." He looked down to the defeated trandoshan and back up to Alex, then over to Lavigny. "If you were gonna fight you should've taken it outside. Very unfortunate now that I'm here." The officer shook his head. "I was in the middle of some much needed relaxation, and now I'm cleaning up your little mess."

"What say you, yeah?"

Lavigny let out a deep, defeated sigh.

"Troublemakers, hah! You could say so", she begun, continuing and twisting the narrative the security officer began. "But don't worry, we took care of them. One ran off after he took a shot at me, and this one shot at my innocent partner. It is a good thing I carry my staff and shield around." She bent down and picked up the trandoshan by whatever clothes the man had on him, dragging him over to the officer. "All yours. We were just about to leave anyway— oh, and I kicked his weapon over there," and a quick nudge to follow that statement up. She was glad, now, that she hadn't decided to kill the man yet. Justice was important — and she'd already delivered much of it — but justice couldn't be dispensed from a prison, and even less from a grave.

She'd hoped her nonchalant behaviour would help, eyeing over Lavigny and coaxing her forward with a gesture of her hand. For a brief moment she seemed to press the matter of leaving, before she turned around to smile at the three officers. "My partner here is bleeding, and I can feel a wound welling up under my armour as well. I'd tell you where the other one ran off to, but I was busy stopping my friend here from dying. Come, Lavigny," she held out a hand for the woman to support on. "Let's take care of that terrible wound, first. And we're on the right planet for that!"

While Alex talked it up with the two 'officers' Lavigny continued to address her wound in the only way she knew how...

Cursing. Lots of it.

She muttered every word from Courscant to the Outer Rim in expletives, some Alex probably never heard of, others she definitely knew, and some perhaps she would never use unless really pressed. She did so mostly under her breath, but not quietly enough that those around them couldn't hear her.

"Fix her up," the main man said. His colleague took hold of the trandoshan who seemed to really dislike being handled that way, but given the situation didn't fight it too much. "But you ain't off the hook."

The officer wasn't too happy by what he saw, clearly, and stared with consideration at Alex and then Lavigny. The latter of whom was now standing up, mostly because of Alex's insistence.

"Hope you didn't plan on leaving town anytime soon." He said with a crooked smile. "Cus' you're gonna have to fill out some paperwork."

He turned with his pal, and their new prisoner, to depart. Before they left he looked back and said, "There's a clinic not far from here, I'll stop by to find you. Try anything and your faces will be plastered on every holoscreen in the sector." With that final warning he disappeared out the door.

Lavigny let out one loud curse. "Feth!" The whole cantina heard.
