A Touchy Subject

@[member="Satara Hawk"]

Elayne, nervously walked up to the hutt, she wanted to know more about a certain area of a witches life that she didn't know much about. She was a bit nervous, unsure where or not about what her Ina would say. She smiled when she saw her, and she was alone... or she thought good, " Ina... I have some questions... about our way of life..." She had been thinking about men of late... she wanted what her Ina had, maybe different... as there seemed to be different opinions in the clan, but she knew that she was never going to get a mate when she didn't know how to claim.
It was funny how you felt wierd about asking your own mother about these questions.

The Witch looked up from her work as Elayne approached her, her words telling Satara that her daughter might have been a bit nervous about what she wished to ask. "What is it, Elayne?" She asked regardless, in a plain voice, not wanting to make her even more nervous than she already seemed to be.

"Ina, I want to know about claiming... and what it entails... I know what to look for but what rituals and such should know about. " She said, still nervous but less so since she was with her Ina after all. Elayne loved her Ina, and was glad she was understanding, She nervously toyed with the strange amulet she had found with Bronwyn, it was funny that when she didn't have a problem moving it as long as it wasn't to move it off. She got up close to her Ina, as she felt better that way.

Her daughter wished to know about claiming and what it entailed. Satara smiled a bit. The small sewing work she had been doing was placed down at the side of her chair before she rose to her feet and linked her hand with Elayne's, leading her into a walk. "How is it that you're suddenly interested in claiming, hi'ja?" Satara asked her first as they walked, curious to hear where this spark had suddenly risen from. While the Witch hadn't picked up on it right away, there was something about her daughter that felt off. Something she couldn't quite place but it made her look at her a little better.

Elanye smiled as Satara had took her hand. " I have started to notice men more Ina... I think of doing things with them... of course every man I meet is claimed but one day I want to find one for me like you have. but I need to know how to do so that I can't let him get away, the other witches say you need to claim them before others do.. so everyone know he's yours. " The amulet unknown to Elayne was some sort of Sith Amulet. A powerful one with a mind of its own, but beaten didn't threaten her anymore, it just gave her light aura a slight almost invisible tinge of corruption. Had Elayne been beaten she would not be here she would of fallen into darkness. But elayne was unaware that her amulet oozed with the darkside of the force waiting to help her should she tap into it other than that, her spells and force moves just seemed slightly stronger.

Satara shook her head and smiled. It was that age. The curious, eager one. Her daughter wanted to know. Satara could understand that. Though she'd never quite began to notice men but just Madoc instead, she could somewhat understand never the less. Placing Elayne's hand in her other one, she wrapped an arm around her sholder and kissed the side of her head. "Very well. What you need to know is that first you need to bring this man to me. I will speak the words to which you will agree to. I as your witness will declare your claim to be valid. If for someone reason you can't find me, TiCira, your sister Kytarra or any elder of the clan could theoretically do it as a witness is crutial but you want to come to yoour Clan Mother about it first. It's tradition."

There was of course the second part of it. "That is the public part of the event. The private is the eve of your mating. That is when you claim your mate and mark him for all to know forever," Satara said and chuckled slightly. "You do so by scratching his back as you claim him." Her mismatched eyes kept watching her daughter. That was usually the part that caused a reaction from young Witches. Satara was curious to see how Elayne would react.

Elayne nodded, her loving Ina was always so kind to her. She listened with care as her mother detailed it, but when she got to the second part she was besiders her self.. how did she scratch him that much... she had thought some tool or something had made the marks... She looked to her Ina, " you made those marks on Father? " She said with a raised brow, of course this discussion of claming and the thoughts that went through Elaynes mind seemed to resonate with the amulet as it glowed, remind her it was there. Elayne focused on the amulet forcing it to behave, her mother would surely notice that elayne was not 'with' her for the minute it took to quiet down the amulet from its glow. Elayne of course thought it had only been a few seconds. " how can I make those sort of marks Ina by just scratching...? " She was honestly curious.

Satara chuckled slightly again at her daughter's reaction. "Yes, I did," she told her daughter truthfully. For it was the truth. It was their way of life, nothing for her to be ashamed of. Even Madoc knew it would come before she had claimed him as her own.

Of course, her daughter didn't yet understand how it could be done. She smiled now first. "You apply your strength. Whether you know it or not, you are strong enough to do it. When you love, when you want the whole galaxy to know that someone is yours, you find strength you didn't even know you had. And you too, like all the Witches before you know it." Satara had faith in this subject because is was their way. None had failed to claim their mate, not ever.

Elayne blushed... " Thank you Ina... I have always wondered.. how those marks got put on the males... I still can't believe that we make them... " She hugged Satara the amulet touched Satara briefly and satara would have no doubt the evilness of it from just the slight contact, it was full of malice. Elayne was oblivious though, and instead was glad to be learning about claiming. " Is that all I need to know? and do you think I will ever find a male to mate with?"

She smiled, ready to confirm what Elayne knew to be true but instead, her entire body froze when her daughter touched her and the feeling spread to her like electricity, all to her toes. At first, the feeling felt merely oddly familar but it didn't take long for to her to remember. Darkness. For a mere second, the feeling took her over and her eyes flashed with fire. She felt it. Loud and clear. Satara jumped away from Elayne and inhaled deep. There was nothing in this galaxy she feared more than darkness. Her own the most. Just feeling it now, on her skin, out of the blue, after so long was even worse.

"What...?!" The Witched muttered and inhaled deeply again. There was no cause for it. No reason for her to feel it. Betrayal and anger had fueld her once but those feelings were dead and burned like her aunts. There should have been no reason. One eye green and the other blue again, they blinked and stared at her daughter for a moment.

Elayne was confused "What Ina?" She had not felt it... The amulet was behaving for Elayne.. for now, She hadn't beat it after all it would be in control. She looked at her ina and smiled " What is it? You seem on edge suddenly. " Elayne was confused, and part of it was that the amulet had pulled the wool over her eyes. It was slowly going to convince her to do things, it had known the brute force way had failed so it would do it subtley. It was in for the long haul.

The inhales hadn't been enough. Satara keep inhailing and exhailing, deeply, centering herself, calming herself. Elayne kept taking but instead, she rose her hand, stopping her. And it was because of what had happened that in the outskirts of their territory did Madoc drop the food from his hands and stared towards their house. He knew his mate's darkness. It was what he needed less than second to start running to Satara.

"I...," the Ma'tra started. The feeling always remained. Satara feared nothing as she feared the darkness within her. The Witch took a step back. It had passed, she knew it had passed but it had shook her enough to not want to come near her daughter, not wanting to hurt her.

Madoc arrowed soon enough. "Satara? What happened?!" The male asked, his golden eyes traveling from his mate to his daughter, trying to get answers.

Elayne looked at her Ina and her Father, what was wrong. she didn't know.. She was lost... What could of happened... She thought it through.. .her amulet had reacted.. earlier... " I don't know we were talking... and I hugged her.. and she started... acting strange... is Ina going to be ok? " She was scared.. Was Satara going to be well.. Elayne was almost in tears seeing that her mother was like this.

Elayne thought about it.. but the amulet couldn't do that could it? and if so should she mention it... she seemed urge to not mention it... something inside her wanted her to hide it. but Elayne was too worried.. She fought her self, and the amulet.. " I think it was my amulet... " She said losing the will to talk about it again... What was it that seemed to do this.. Was it because it was afraid of being removed from her? or did she really want to keep such a dark thing.. was she that dark?

Slowly, Madoc began to aproach her. Careful, as if a coming closet to a deer. He knew what he was doing but at the same time, he was also listening to his daughter as she explained. Satara kept looking at them both though to be fair, she didnt really see them, she was more focusing on centering herself. So scared that it would stick. She wanted to tell Madoc to stay back but before she could, her mate grabbed her and hugged her, holding her close. "It's okay, you're okay," he whispered.

It had hit her the very moment he hugged her. Madoc had a gift. Perhaps it wasn't even a gift but when he held her, she could swear she felt him calming her, keeping her safe. Perhaps she even took it from him unaware of it. But Satara always did know Madoc was her light. One that made kept safe from the darkness she feared so much. He was her life.

But it was their daughter's words that made both suddenly turn their heards to look at her. She thought it was her amulet? Their eyes wandered off to the chain around her neck. Neither had noticed it before. "What amulet?" Madoc asked. Before the question even came, Satara moved closer to Elayne again, reaching her hand out towards her. She felt it then as she came close, her fingers inches away from the item. Though she did not dare touch it, it was enough. She stepped back again.

"Where did you get that, Elayne?" She asked quickly, Madoc coming from behind her, his hands on her shoulder, giving her the strength she needed.

Elayne looked to them, shy, suddenly, " umm I found it while exploring with Browyn... I killed a old evil Jai, and well I put it on... and it won't come off.. but i beat it... I had a mental war with it.. and beat it. So it's ok now.. other than being stuck on me. " She looked at them.. she was curious what their reacions would be. " Whats wrong?"
Elayne was worried for her Ina.. and now that her father had come.. and they regarded her amulet so badly... could it be so bad, it had strengthened her spells.. it couldn't be that bad, and let her get out of the place.. and some other places.

Satara kept staring at the piece of jewelry while listening to Elayne explain. Her eyes snapped at her daughter's face when she heard of her killing an old evil Jai. "Killed?" Her head turned to the side to look at Madoc and his face too was worried. "How?" She added then. She needed to know this bit.

And back to the amulet, Satara looked at it again. It was stuck on her daughter but apparently, the mental war she had with it was over and she had won. "It's still active. Whatever mental war you think you've won against it, you're wrong. It will infect you again. Amulets never stop, not until they are destroyed." She spoke of things she had once learned about. Winona spoke of amulets often. She forbidden her from accepting gifts from anyone. She of course didn't know then that what Winona feared was influence of others over here but the lessons had been useful. "We need to find a way to get it off you. And as soon as possible."

Elayne looked up to her Ina... " With the Arrow of Fire spell, I turned his own magic against him... " She teared up a bit, realizing she had indeed killed a man, " He had captured my friend, and had used a strange spell.. a spell that made a large ball of fire go towards me... and I was stuck and could't move... so I chanted... I chanted with all the power I could muster Ina, I sent his ball of fire back at him. "

"I think Browyn might be able to help... but I don't know where she is.. she doesn't have a tribe..." She said looking at her Ina... tears on her face still, Elayne felt like a disappointment... She had failed her Ina...

She turned his own magic on him with the Arrow of Fire Spell. The man had captured her friend? So, it was self-defense. Satara nodded. "Bronwyn?" She pondered for a moment. "The fallen one. This is whom you call your friend?" She questioned her daughter. Madoc spoke nothing, holding her close to him to make sure the talisman wouldn't hurt her again. "We can figure this out on our own. The Singing Mountain Council will be able to find a solution."

"Ina Browyn is indeed my friend... She has my back... and she doesn't have a clan.. but is thinking about joining the nightsisters so I am trying to get her to purge and join us. I know she isn't innocent.. but I would like to try to convince her to do this. I think I can if I spend enough time with her, plus we found some other things we didn't bring back... and we have a secret hideout now... but... I think she has a tool to get it off.. we found some other stuff, and I think one of them helps get it off. But I left it with her... "
She looked at her Ina.. hoping she wasn't too mad at her..
