A Taste of Taris

Mereel landed his ship on the reconstructed planet, it was hard to beleive this place had once been destroyed by a deranged Sith. He walked through the streets to a bar where he was supposed to meet a contact. It was a Deathwatch officer. He was fed up with the osik and wanted out. He had seen one too many villages burn to their bloody conquests. He walked into the bar where he was supposed to meet his contact, and sat down next to the man who matched his description.

Rhen Karth

InQuestor Acolyte
A man in Beskar' Gam strode up to Rhen Karth. He suspected this was Mereel, the Deathwatch member who did not realize how much power the Mandalorians had as an empire.
"Greetings, please take a seat"

Rhen Karth

InQuestor Acolyte
"I'm afraid one can not leave the Deathwatch...not alive anyway, goodbye Mereel, we will conquer the galaxy for you." Rhen pulled out an E9 and fired into the Mandalorians chest.

John sat in the booth directly behind Meerel. John was taken aback from the shot and before he could even ask if the Mandalore was alright, he was gone. John knew who the man was and was delighted that the conversation had gone the way it had, now he thought he could have an ally in his task, quickly he sprung from his seat downing another shot of whiskey before chasing after Meerel. He bobbed and weaved through the populous streets of the city trying his best to catch up to the Mandalore.

Zero stalked his prey to the bar and watched. when the attacker shot his contract he pulled the GH-44 pistol that he had and fired at the mans head. He rarely missed from intense training.

Rhen Karth

InQuestor Acolyte
Rhen saw the bullet just before it hit him, directly in the head. His vision started to blur..he wasn't dead...no this couldn't be happening he saw his attacker and watched him. He pulled his blaster up and prepared to fire.

John heard the commotion spread throughout the city and sprinted as fast as he could to scene, he unbuckled his holster as he saw Rhen on the ground ready to fire. John was confused, he didn't know of any orders to kill the man. John looked over at Rhen and yelled out "Are you alright? I'm friendly!"

Mereel watched the chaos the single shot had forced on the crowds around him. Yet no one seemed to notice him discharge his blaster, then procceed by quickly slipping it back in its holster.
Then he saw Rhen try to raise his blaster to return fire on him. No one said that some of the Deathwatch members werent crazy, in this crowd, anyone could get hit by the bolt. He saw a man approach the fallen ex-comrade. It was then that Mereel decided to bolt.. he had a feeling he was being followed.

John wasn't getting a response from the Deathwatch officer, he was too busy trying to return fire. Plans had changed he wasn't going to get information from him anymore, John followed the Deathwatch member's aim to a man bolting. Quickly John jumped from his perch and after Mereel, it felt like a repeat of earlier when he was bobbing and weaving after the same Mandalorian. John wasn't expecting that Mandalorian's first response to be murder and now that Mandalorian was his only hope of achieving the objective.

As Mereel ran through the street something from Taris' past came back again. The dreaded Raghkghouls. The beasts had hidden in the shadows of the planet for nearly 200 years, and now was their time to return. The monsters descended upon the crowds, ravaging everything in their sights, infecting others and spreading the epidemic. Mereel knew what he had to do, he braced himself for a long fight ahead. He took cover in an open plaza, not good for hiding from assassins, but it provided him a line of sight against these unknown beasts.

John was so focused on catching Mereel he almost didn't notice the armada of raghkgouls, he first noticed when one pounced by him. John slid into the cover beside Mereel, catching his Ion Blaster as it fell out of the unbuttoned holster. He found himself face to face with the Mandalorian, an incredibly intimidating sight for an unarmored Republic Agent. John spun around and quickly fired his blaster at a pouncing Raghkghoul. It pierced through the beast leaving it's lifeless corpse to land on the Agent. "A little help here!?" He called out to the Mandalorian as he tried to push the heap of flesh off his stomach.

Zero walked forward with his twin blasters and fired on the Rakgoul around the two men. He unloaded his pistols from shooting the various rakgoul. He pulled his sword out and ordered at the two."RUN."

He looked down to a viscous liquid that was secreted by the Raghkghoul onto his shirt before climbing to his feet.

"I 'was' trying to capture a high ranking member of a murderous organisation of Mandalores before you killed him. " John answered as he dodged another Raghkghoul pounce. "Now I figure from the whole him shooting you, you shooting him thing you ought'ta know quite a bit about this group of marauding Mandalores?"

John wasn't going to leave unless the Mandalore did, he was going to follow this man to the ends of the Galaxy untill he got answers.

Auri Vesta

Captain of the Rimrunner
Auri sat back and listened to the chatter of the Taris police force. She was laying around the spaceport waiting for her next freight haul, when she overheard two officers talking. "We have a rakghoul outbreak on level 716!" The younger officer panicked. "They have never come up that high before.." the other trailed off. "Rakghouls? That's no good, Mereel is out there." Auri thought. Even after the hundreds of restoration projects Taris had been through to rebuild the vast city world, it had never purged the threat of the Rakghoul Plague from its lower levels. She needed to find Mereel.
