Mandalorian Empire
Kway Teow, Felucia
In the cyclical nature of the Galaxy, Empires rise and fall, Kingdoms reach their zenith and crumble beneath their weight. It was the way of all things to be born, grow, and return to the stars and dust at the end. For some, it was merely a brilliant flash, a momentary rise of power only to be shattered upon the completion of some goal or meeting a force that it could not overcome; whilst others would lumber on for years, becoming a bloated, corpulent corpse that had died long before the final collapse. In many ways, the Mandalorians were the prime example of this growth and decay. They would rise - sometimes brilliantly like a phoenix, other times it was a slow smoldering of kindling - and eventually fall. It had always been said that a united Mandalore could not be conquered from without, that it would stand the test of time, only to fall from within as the clans turned on one another.
The Warden of Ferrix had seen many such factions bearing the name Mandalorian rise in the past, from the United Clans and the Crusaders to the Enclave and even the Iron Covenant. All names for those that sought to claim the ancient mantle, so what made the Mandalorian Empire stand apart from those that had burned too brightly as they streamed across the stars? It was the willingness of those that had been drawn to the Empire to surrender themselves to something larger, something greater... It was that willingness to rise from the ashes and build something that would stand the test of time.
She had, in the past, her own run-ins with the various Mandalorian factions that had claimed the names and titles of old. Each conflict was fought against the Mandalorians, and now, the Warden of Ferrix stood with former enemies at the behest of an older force. The memories, however, were not the reason she had found herself on Felucia. As the Mandalorian Empire expanded and ebbed, the maps shifted and were redrawn. Where she once stood silently alone as a bulwark against the darkness, she now found herself with a neighbor as the Yavin Expanse had grown to meet the Ferrixian Corporate Sector.
The meeting room was dim, the sun already setting and casting light over the vibrant fungal forests of Felucia. She could have just as easily sought the Warden of Yavin out in her own territory, or even extended an invitation to Ferrix. Felucia, though, offered something neither Warden could: neutrality. It was a Crown Territory, held by another who was entrusted with the world by the Mandalore. A soft hiss filled the room for a moment, followed by a loud clacking as the shutters on the window slowly retracted to provide a better view of the vast fungal forests that stretched to the horizon beyond the Capital City of the planet.
Her back remained toward the door, a risk that she was willing to take to show her fellow Warden that she did not have ill intent by inviting her to Felucia that day. Rather, she wanted their two Oversectors to grow closer, forming a united front that would keep the Eastern expanse of the Mandalorian Empire secure so their focus and attention could fall toward the South and West, where the true future of the Empire awaited.
