- Description: A Study in Opposition: The Devouring, Feed Not the Mirror is a holocron encoded with a dissertation compiling the personal views, interpretations, and speculative philosophy of an individual identifying as Avarice. The work draws from fragmented lore concerning the Anti-Force; a phenomenon believed to stand in direct, annihilative opposition to the Force itself.
Holocron Gatekeeper: Upon activation, the holocron projects a flickering red-orange hologram of a young, androgynous figure seated cross-legged atop a fractured obsidian dais. He is lean and sharp-featured, clothed in layered black and red robes in low light. He has long silver hair, framing angular yet soft masked features accompanied by glowing crimson eyes that track the viewer with unsettling intensity, though the gaze is not truly alive.
The projection's voice is calm, yet carries the unmistakable edge of pride and challenge. Every word is deliberate, eloquent, and laced with disdain for orthodoxy. The gatekeeper does not greet or instruct it simply warns.
"This holocron contains dangerous ideas. If you seek comfort, close it. If you seek truth, bleed for it."
The avatar offers no interactivity beyond playback. It is a series of encoded lectures and entries spoken aloud by the author, Avarice, in his own voice, laced with contempt for both Jedi restraint and Sith dogma. The gatekeeper refuses to answer questions, only continuing with the pre-set progression of the holocron's contents.
Its demeanor may be off-putting to many, but that seems intentional. As if Avarice encoded the gatekeeper not just to teach, but to test the patience and will of those who would dare study the Anti-Force.
FORMAT INFORMATION
Gatekeeper Parameters:
The holocron contains a non-interactive gatekeeper modeled after the author, Avarice, projected in stabilized red-orange holographic resolution. The gatekeeper acts as a visual and vocal interface, presenting the material in a sequenced dissertation format. It cannot respond to inquiry, though it does pause at natural intervals, seemingly waiting for user reaction before continuing.
Its tone is deliberately confrontational, intended to challenge the viewer's assumptions and provoke internal conflict. This gatekeeper does not function as a teacher exactly; it is a vessel for philosophy and warning, encoded with theatrical flair and veiled contempt.
Activation Conditions:
Activation is triggered by direct Force attunement. The holocron reacts most strongly during emotionally charged states, though this is believed to be a side effect of the recording process and not an intentional feature.

Spoken Entry — Author: Avarice
I was told the Force flows through all things.
But what of the places it avoids?
What of the wounds in the world and the emptiness that does not echo, but only consumes?
Know this...Knowledge is power.
Inside this holocron you will find a glimpse of understanding.
The Jedi would burn it.
The Sith would try to twist it.
Both would fail.
What I have compiled here is patterns repeated across planes and pulses of unbeing.
You may believe the Anti-Force is a myth.
You may believe it cannot affect you.
And yet… if you're listening now,
it already has.

What the Anti-Force Can Do
Drain the Force from Living Beings:
From the scraps I've studied, field notes, corrupted holos, and even cultist ravings,
the Anti-Force appears to have the ability to annihilate the Force present in living beings. Waru, seemingly an extra-dimensional entity, was said to use the Anti-Force to drain the life energy (Force energy) from individuals, effectively 'feeding' on them.
This is said to be akin to a destructive force that cancels out the Force, similar to how antimatter annihilates matter.
Cause Death or Healing:
Most of the stories end in death. But not all. A few, less clear anecdotes, more along the lines of confessions, suggest something stranger. That whatever fed could give something back. That it could heal, restore, even strengthen. Not out of mercy, of course. Hunger isn't generous. Maybe it just enjoyed reshaping its prey. Maybe it didn't care what happened afterward. Either way... some walked away different and changed.
It was said that Waru could consume individuals entirely, leading to death, as it drained their Force energy. However, if it was satiated, it could return some of that energy, healing or even enhancing the individual. This dual effect, in theory, would make the Anti-Force both a tool of destruction and, paradoxically, a source of potential healing or empowerment.
Temptation of Power:
It always comes to this, the ones who want. It is said that Hethrir thought he could grow stronger by offering others to this devouring force. The logic is sound, in a way. Trade what you don't value for more of what you do. And maybe, just maybe, the Anti-Force obliges. But the stories are inconsistent. Some say he gained everything. Others say he never left. All agree: the Anti-Force doesn't bargain. It feeds.
Theoretically, it seems that the Anti-Force could be used as a form of temptation. Individuals like Hethrir were drawn to Waru because they believed they could gain greater Force powers by offering Waru the energy of others. Essentially, the idea that the Anti-Force could be leveraged to create a stronger connection to the Force, refining and enhancing a user's abilities if they survived the process, seems to have been propagated throughout time. However, this is dangerous, as the process of feeding an entity like Waru might kill them if Waru wasn't satisfied or if the conditions weren't right.
Destruction of the Force:
Not all power creates. Some only unmake. There are accounts, though mythic and fragmented in origin,of whole nexuses collapsing into silence. Not quite dimmed nor darkened. Completely and utterly deleted. If there's any truth to that, then this force, this... Anti-Force, doesn't simply threaten individuals. It threatens the weave itself. And that should terrify everyone.
Theoretically, the Anti-Force directly opposes the natural flow of the Force. It can destroy or unravel the Force, disrupting the balance of life and energy that the Force represents. This makes it a profound threat, especially to Force-sensitive beings.
Extradimensional Influence:
Whatever this thing is, it doesn't come from here. None of the Force traditions recognize it. The oldest surviving scrolls call it 'outside,' or 'beyond the edge.' I don't think that's poetry. I think that's coordinates. If true, it means our understanding of the Force is provincial. Or rather... local. And that we're not alone in the void.
Theoretically, the Anti-Force is not native to our greater galaxy but comes from another dimensional plane altogether. This extradimensional origin could imply that the rules governing the Anti-Force are different from the traditional Force, making it unpredictable and difficult to counter by any conventional Jedi or Sith methods.
How the Anti-Force Works
Opposition to the Force:
Some describe it as an inverse or a mirror, maybe an impression. It is a condition in which the Force itself cannot exist. The stories are hard to translate, but the theme remains: the Anti-Force is not an energy. It's the absence of energy. In example, not just silence but rather a place where sound has never been.
Theoretically, the Anti-Force works by being in direct opposition to the Force of the universe. Where the Force is about life, connection, and energy, the Anti-Force is about annihilation and destruction of that connection. It can be thought of as a form of antimatter to the Force's matter.
Annihilation and Resonance:
In rare accounts, witnesses mention 'resonance', a harmonic interaction between Force and Anti-Force that ends in annihilation. This was a cataclysmic collapse. The Force didn't resist in such telling, but rather it unraveled. And in places already unstable, like dying stars or crystal concentrations, this collapse became explosive and/or infectious.
It was said that Waru used the Anti-Force by creating a resonance with the Force. As described, when the Anti-Force interacts with the Force, theoretically speaking, it annihilates it, leading to the draining of life energy. This process allowed Waru to seemingly feed on the Force itself.
The concept of resonance could imply that the Anti-Force can amplify its effects under certain conditions, such as the destabilization.
Energy Transfer:
Some of the more deranged testimonies, and I say that with respect, mention return. That after feeding, the Anti-Force could channel that energy elsewhere. Rebuild flesh, or enhance ability. It's inconsistent. It might be selective. Or it might just be a side effect, like radiation after detonation. Regardless, those who survived often weren't the same.
Theoretically, the Anti-Force doesn't always just destroy. It can also transfer energy. After consuming life energy, it can return that energy in a form that enhances or heals, suggesting that an entity like Waru can manipulate the flow of the Anti-Force to benefit individuals under certain circumstances.
Risk and Reward:
I don't think the Anti-Force has rules. I think it has habits. And even those are unreliable. But from everything I've pieced together, it doesn't reward ambition. It tolerates it for a time. You don't use the Anti-Force. You survive it, and if you're lucky, you come away stronger. If not... you come away as less.
Theoretically, using the Anti-Force comes with great risks. Those who wish to gain power from it, like Hethrir, must risk death, as an entity like Waru feeds on life energy indiscriminately. Only if Waru is satisfied or chooses to return energy can someone survive the encounter and potentially gain enhanced powers.
Implications
Opposition to Jedi and Sith:
Jedi rely on harmony. Sith on will. Both depend on the Force to respond. But what happens when it doesn't? When the current they shape no longer flows? The Anti-Force doesn't care what code you chant or what title you claim. It unbinds. And when it does, none of that matters.
Theoretically, the Anti-Force is a direct challenge to both the Jedi and the Sith, as it fundamentally disrupts the Force they rely on. This makes it dangerous to anyone who uses the Force, as they could lose their connection to it entirely or be consumed by an entity like Waru.
Ethical Dilemmas:
If power requires sacrifice, the Anti-Force is seemingly a shortcut (and a terrible one at that). That's why people chase it. Not to understand, but to gain. To feed it others and hope it leaves you stronger. If even one of these accounts is true, it means those choices are already being made.
Theoretically, the ability of the Anti-Force to tempt individuals with the promise of greater power creates moral and ethical dilemmas. Hethrir’s willingness to sacrifice others to feed Waru in exchange for personal gain highlights the corrupting influence of the Anti-Force. It reflects how power can tempt even the most powerful Force users into making dangerous compromises.
Extradimensional Threats:
The Force may not be the whole story. If the Anti-Force is real, and that's still a question, then there may be more. Forces without light or dark. Motions that don't obey gravity or cause. I believe this is just one voice whispering through the cracks.
Theoretically, the Anti-Force’s extradimensional nature suggests that there could be other threats from outside our galaxy, with their own rules and powers. The idea that there are forces beyond the known Force presents a broader cosmological framework that could be explored.
Who (or What) Was Waru?
Waru is described in fragmented texts as an extradimensional being or rather a creature of living, fluid metal wrapped in golden scales, glimmering like a star caught in molasses. It was not born of the Force, nor shaped by it, but seemed to consume its presence with grotesque hunger. The accounts call Waru many things: the devourer, the healer, the deceiver, even god. But above all, it was alien in physics, and in existence.
Waru the parasite arrived in our galaxy through a dimensional rift, drawn or tethered to the instability of the 'Crystal Star' which was a collapsing stellar anomaly acting as both gateway and prison. Without it, he would have destabilized.
It is not clear if the parasite Waru was a singular creature or a manifestation of something far greater. What is certain, however, is this: the entity fed on Force energy, and its presence unmade those connected to it.
Who Was Hethrir?
It is said that he was a former Imperial Inquisitor and self-declared ruler of the so-called "Empire Reborn," Hethrir was a fallen Force-wielder who sought to regain lost power by any means. Twisted by ambition and desperation, he became Waru's dubious servant, sacrificing prisoners and Force-sensitive children in hopes of earning Waru's favor.
He was described as a tall, dark-haired humanoid with golden-bronze skin and molten eyes. His appearance is regal, and imposing; traits suggesting he was likely a Firrerreo, a species known for metallic skin and regenerative abilities.
It is said that he believed the parasite Waru could grant him strength, perhaps even restore him to the pinnacle of Sith might. Whether the parasite Waru ever intended to reward him is doubtful. The dark histories suggest Hethrir was used, drained, and ultimately discarded.
If the parasite Waru was the maw, Hethrir was its herald serving as a warning of what happens when hunger and ego form an alliance.
The Devouring Process — The Parasite Waru's Use of the Anti-ForceIt is said that Waru appeared to use the Anti-Force through a process that is both resonant and predatory, more to feeding than wielding. Based on fragmented records and testimonies, here is a speculative breakdown of how the parasite Waru may have utilized the Anti-Force:
- Resonance Initiation: The parasite Waru establishes a disharmonic resonance between Force and Anti-Force. This clash erases. Not a transfer, but an annihilation. A metaphysical blind spot where the Force dies on contact.
- Dimensional Anchoring: The parasite Waru cannot persist here unaided. He required the Crystal Star, which was like a nexus of instability to act as his anchor. Without such fractures in spacetime, he seemingly weakens and eventually dissipates.
- Extraction and Consumption: Once resonance begins, the parasite Waru feeds, draining life essence and Force energy alike. Just the unraveling of connection, light, and will. Touch seems to accelerate the process, but It seems that proximity alone is sufficient to begin the drain.
- Potential Redistribution: Rare accounts suggest the parasite Waru may return what he consumes in a manner that restructured into healing or enhancement. Whether this is intentional, truthful, or simply energetic backlash remains unknown.
- Collapse or Withdrawal: When his anchor fails or destabilizes, the parasite Waru retreats, or is undone. His existence here is conditional and temporary, sustained only by instability, pain, and hunger.
Theory: The Rift is the Line of Opposition
The Force rends where the Anti-Force devours.
From what I've gleaned of Waru's foul arrival, dragged into our realm like carrion slipping through a tear, the dimensional rift surrounding the Crystal Star was not his creation. It was his cradle, his coffin, and his cage.
But here lies the fascinating fracture:
The Force may open such wounds in space. But the Anti-Force... it closes them. By annihilating the structure that holds them open.
You see, rifts like the one near Crseih Station are bridges made of Force. Stressed, stretched, and humming. The Anti-Force cannot truly exist in our realm without such bridges, but once it slithers through, it begins to consume the very bridge that sustains it. Like a serpent gnawing the limb it crawled in on.
That's the paradox: To reach us, it needs the Force. To survive here, it must undo it.
Waru strained the rift. Every child drained, every pulse of Force energy fed into him, brought the fabric closer to collapse from inverse resonance. His presence was a counterwave and cancellation. The rift was was the line where Force and Anti-Force clashed. So the Anti-Force destroys rifts, closing them with entropy.
Let that inform your understanding. There is no harmony between these forces. Only nullification; if you feel that resonance trembling beneath your skin, you are already standing too close to the line.
Summary of the Anti-Force's Effects
Drains the Force: Said to consume the Force within living beings.
Destructive and Healing: Allegedly capable of both annihilation and restoration.
Tempts with Power: Offers strength through sacrifice , if it chooses to.
Resonates with the Force: Grows stronger near unstable Force nexuses.
Extradimensional in Nature: Thought to originate outside all known space.
Fortunately, it seems entities that wield the Anti-Force cannot exist in our dimensional plane without dying, destabilizing, and writhing in pain.
The physics of our reality are simply… incompatible.
They are not born of this realm. They come crawling from dimensional rifts, parasites birthed in the void between rules, not bound by the laws that govern the rest of us, but not immune to them either.
To remain, they require anchors, or fractures in the fabric of space, perhaps artifacts of immense power, or perhaps even sentient minds foolish enough to welcome them. Without such a tether, they decay. And eventually, they retreat, or are unmade.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
I did not create this.
This holocron is a vessel and a mouthpiece for fragments scattered across time and obscured by fear. What I've done is assemble them. Stitch echoes into something almost coherent. The oldest pieces came from a shattered data-core found in the vaults beneath Malrev IV. The rest? A mix of field records confiscated from the Arkanian Enclave, ruined Sith codices, and testimonies extracted, from cultists who worshipped nothingness.
Why? Because the patterns won't stop. Knowledge is Power. And you must know thy enemy to defy it.
Because no one else dared to name the dark between stars. Because even the bravest Masters only speak of the Anti-Force in metaphor, if at all.
