Lieutenant Danthem Scipios had been poisoned. His eyes were slightly bloodshot and he seemed a slightly odd colour. He even walked slightly hunched over, taking measured breaths as he walked along the side of the main entrance road toward where it was he had supposed to have been for the past fourty or so hours now. He turned his head slightly and saw another speeder hurtle on past him while on it's way outbound toward wider Corellia, the polluting hiss of exhaust fumes didn't help his already weakened state as they interwove with the dust kicked up. The morning sun had come out a few hours ago and by now was very much adding to the compounding issues that he had come across. In the moment he cursed the one who had done this to him and spat out a globule of saliva that still perpetrated the mild taste of vomit on his tongue. He had of course been the one to bring all of this upon himself.

Deciding the remaining mile or so he would have to hike up toward the front gate of this continents auxiliary air base didn't particularly appeal to him in that moment the young pilot used his momentary wisdom, of which there was not particularly a lot, to settle at the side of the road and await a transport on it's way up.
Hucking his duffel up over one shoulder and digging his military identification from the pockets of flight jacket still smelling of smoke, spirits and a perfume he strode toward the edge of the road and held out his hand.
A cargo hauler was the first to actually stop for him and the driver seemed happy enough to let him on board, if not giggling slightly at the state of him. As it turned out he had been a navy maintainer during his younger years and so found the chance to banter a rather less than one hundred percent fighter pilot payment enough for the mile of transport.
At the front security gate Danthem passed over his identification and after a few strange looks from the sentry was allowed through with his driver. The base itself was extensive. Making full use of the good weather found on this part of the planet as well as the space provided to them the Alliance had nothing short of their own large town within the wire. The size of the base would not have been a huge issue for Danthem had the driver not been only going so far as the vehicle depot. On one hand he had gotten back on base but on the other he still needed to get back to his air wing and that was on the other side of the main landing zone.

Having thanked the driver and done a small recon of the area, Dan realised that his best bet was likely to acquire some kind of transport and nonchalantly make his way back to the squadron building. Hell he might even still catch the dinner service for those coming off of the night flights. There was a distinct problem however. That the cargo yard and the speeder parking were separated by a seven foot high wall. To go around it he would have to walk back out of the gate and look more than a little suspicious before trying to re-enter through an entirely different set of security forces. The wall it was then.

After some quick casing of the area to make sure that no one was watching him, Dan wiped the small layer of sweat from his forehead and fixed his hair before tossing his bag and jacket clean over the wall with a slight lack of grace. He waited for a few moments as he heard footsteps somewhere around him. With them seemingly not coming back after a minute or so he himself started to run towards the concrete wall, his aching muscles screaming at him before pushing up with one foot and using his other to spring himself up towards the top of the wall. He wrapped his arms over the top and hoisted himself headfirst over. He wheezed slightly at the exertion and the fact that his stomach had started to protest at the sudden movement before his feet lifted in to the air and twisted over before dropping him down onto the hard paved surface of the other side where he lost his balance and crumpled down onto the floor.

After a rather eventful night on Corellia, Valery had only one official reason for being on the planet. A meeting at the local base, and with that wrapped up, she had gone outside for a small walk around the perimeter. A chance to get some fresh air, and clear her mind a little after her first day here. She had three more left to go, though she wouldn't complain. Thus far, she had met some lovely people, had great fun, and felt relaxed from having to do little to no work.

She wished this could happen far more often.

Having walked for a few minutes, Valery suddenly stopped when she heard a strange sound. She glanced up, then blinked when a man was suddenly tumbling headfirst over the wall, "Hey!" she called out, a little shocked to see this happen, but as soon as she noticed the uniform, Valery got even more confused.

Why was a soldier climbing over the walls of his own base? Maybe an intruder dressed up as a soldier?

"Who are you? And what the hell are you doing?"

Wait, wasn't this the guy from yesterday? The one who threw a ball at her while she was talking to Rik?

Danthem rolled over slightly and tried to take a gasp of air only to note that he had been ever so slightly winded by his little tumble and now wheezed slightly. He planted a hand on the ground next to him then turned to look up at the voice shouting at him. He thought he had heard whoever was back here walking away. He couldn't help but wince slightly as he tried to make out the figure, a throbbing in his behind now rather astutely making itself known. He sat there staring at her with a slightly dumb squint. Then he recognised the face staring down at him and internally let out an expletive most unbecoming of an officer. He put his other hand down on the floor and awkwardly pushed himself up onto his aching legs.

"Good morning ma'am." He said while trying to force a slight smile on his face. "I'm..." He trailed off for a few seconds while trying not to say something completely dumb. "Bam... fem." Total fail on the previous account. "Lieutenant Bamfem.." His eyes flickered around at the local terrain and settled on one of the jutting paving slabs. "Lieutenant Bamfem Pavementia. Ma'am. I was just testing the wall here." He took a step to the side and gave the wall that he had launched himself over a quick pat. "I can say with certainty that it is doing its job very well!" He said unconvincingly.

Valery perked a brow at the expletive, but decided against commenting. He had just made a rather nasty fall, and that pain might have loosened up his lips a little. Either that, or seeing her of all people made him swear. For now, she decided against focusing on that little detail.

"Are you alright?" she asked after he got up to his feet and tried... to introduce himself? Her other eyebrow arched this time, as more confusion began to set in. Why was it so hard for him to just say his name? With every passing second, there were more questions than answers, and Valery began to wonder if he might have hit his head.

She couldn't see any blood or bruising, at least.

"Look, I'm not your superior officer, so you're not in trouble. But... why were you really climbing that wall?"
