A sporting chance

Adumar, Galactic Shockball League headquarters
Natalie had a rush of ideas in her head as to what exactly she was going to propose here. While she was certain that she would be financing the stadium from her new start-up of Promenade Designs, she was excited to see what type of branding could be done, along with the possibility for some of the higher class clientele that attend these games purchasing products from their clothing line en-masse.

Then again, the rabble that attend these games probably don't have that sort of money.

She sighed as she approached the GSL's headquarters, awaiting in the reception with a datapad and a sack of dreams. Occasionally, she would stand up and go to the bathroom simply to look in the mirror at how stunning she looked, or at least how stunning she thought that she looked. While she waited she would fidget with her hair, twisting it and turning it to cope with some mild anxiety, along with intensely staring at doors awaiting to be called by the league's Commissioner, [member="Cady Arwyn"].

A scarlet haired woman walked alone as she approached the woman awaiting her chance to have an audience with her. She stopped just before her and gave her a warm smile. "Ms. LaForte. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Cadyssia Arwyn." Cady extended a hand for the woman to shake. Once the introductions were over, Cady would spin around and walk in the direction from where she came. "The GSL is very grateful for your support in the league. We are very excited to be working together." She eventually walked up to a set of double doors. With an easy push of a button adjacent to the doors, they slid open, revealing a room made specifically for meetings such as this one.

Cady made a gesture to one of the chairs at the oval table before them. "Please, have a seat. We shall begin once the Edgehawks' owner joins us. Good old Hartu is always behind schedule. He is a good man, though. Always giving to the unfortunate and luckless. Would you like a water? Tea?" Cady took a seat herself at the table as she waited for the team's owner. Once he arrived, they would begin the discussion regarding the stadium.

Natalie smiled back towards the woman as she approached, shaking Cady's hand as offered, following closely behind her as they entered the meeting room. Natalie took a seat quite close to the woman and then responded to her question.

"No thank you, I don't get thristy very often."

As soon as the Edgehawk's owner entered the room and approached the two, Natalie would offer him a handshake before turning back to Cady and beginning to talk about her proposal.

"Well, as you may or may not know, I'm representing Promenade Designs, an up and coming garment producer. To my understanding, you're simply wanting financing to build the Shockball stadium, however I would like to make an additional proposal. Given the nature of our work, we would like to, along with the aforementioned sponsorship on the stadium, produce the team's uniforms. All of our products are custom made by a team of seamstresses who'll do a much better job than simply getting them out of some factory, all ethically sourced as well."

"Uhh, but Ms. LaForte, the Galactic Shockball League already has a contract with Lucid Luxuries to make the uniforms for the league. Which, if memory serves me right, is your company, is it not, commissioner Arwyn?" Hartu interjected.

"Indeed it is, Mr. Hartu." Cady replied. "Lucid Luxuries is currently the main manufacturer for the GSL's uniforms. However, Ms. LaForte, if you are able to show me a draft of your idea for the uniforms in say, a week, I would be willing to consider allowing you to make the Edgehawks uniforms. But, only if I and Mr. Hartu approve. If not, then we'll have to stick with Lucid Luxuries. I've no doubt in your abilities to amaze me, Ms. LaForte, but Mr. Hartu here is hard to impress. Especially since he's already so invested into my uniform idea already." Cady added. She started pulling out documents from a compartment hidden within the table. "Here's the contract to have your company's name in lights on the stadium for you to look over. You will receive 10% of final profits made by the stadium at the end of each fiscal year, which is typically a few months after the season ends, about halfway into the off season. You can look over it now and, should you manage to convince Mr. Hartu and I, I will have the uniform clause amended into it then you may sign when ready. Any questions?"

Natalie pondered for a second.

Is it really worth trying to sway the decision of some corporate executives into buying some cheap fabric and more than likely wasting time in doing so.

No. She knew how stubborn they were.

"On second thoughts actually, I believe that doing so would portray our brand in a way that would potential hurt our consumer base. You see, we specialize in unique outfits at an extremely high price. While I have no doubt that the team has high professional standards, seeing uniforms that I would personally be making on the field is not exactly what we're looking for. However, if you do need somebody to do so in the future for whatever reason I would be more than happy to accept such an amendment."

Once more she paused to question whether this deal was worth it. Well, I've got nothing to lose with new start ups.

"Absolutely nothing at all, that sounds quite reasonable for the price we will be paying."

Cady smiled and rose from her seat. She took the pen from the table and handed it to Natalie for her to sign the contract. "Excellent. The Eadu Edgehawks and the GSL thank you for your business, Ms. LaForte." Hartu stood up, smiled and left the meeting room. With the business discussion completed, he didn't feel the need to be there any longer. "I think it's a time for champagne, no?" Cady clapped her hands twice, summoning her servant droid to bring in the bottle of champagne she was saving for this moment. "Thirsty, yet, Ms. LaForte?" Cady asked. The droid brought the champagne and submerged most of it in a bucket of ice and placed two glasses before Cady and Natalie. "That'll be all, J3. Thank you." The droid responded with several beeps and left the room.

Natalie coughed as the bucket of champagne was brought into the room and smiling gently as Cady's friend exited the room. "Usually I don't engage in such... activities. But I suppose so, considering the circumstances." She took the bottle, popping it opening with ease over the bucket and allowing the fizz to drip down over her hands before pouring the two glasses. "So tell me, do you drink often on the job?" giggling to herself.

She wasn't expecting to be invited to stay for a conversation, which is what Natalie was assuming what Cady wanted. She could sense they were probably extremely alike, of course she had no plans of being rude and attempting to access the woman's mind to find some common interests between the two. "The Galactic Shockball league is a wonderful initiative. It's so refreshing to see something peaceful in a time of strife."

"Only when celebrating, Miss LaForte." Cady laughed. She took the bottle in hand and pulled the cork from it's opening using the Force. She poured it's bubbly contents into the glasses. She slid on of the glasses towards Natalie and took hold of her own after returning the bottle to the bucket of ice. She raised her glass to perform a toast with Natalie. "To new beginnings for the GSL."

Once Natalie joined the toast and tapped Cady's glass with her own. or didn't, Cady would take a sip from her glass before returning it to the table. "Well, I am very glad we could do this. I hope to hear from you soon. Once my people have finished construction of the stadium, you will be notified. I want you to be there when we cut the ribbon. Thank you for your time, but I must be off to another meeting. My secretary will see you out." Cady rose from her seat and gathered her papers before leaving the room. After Cady was gone, her secretary would step in to guide Natalie.
