A Song of Bows and Sabers (Songsteel Challenge- Open but PM if Interested)

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
Lilythe stood with bow in hand,
Silently surveying the surrounding land.
A friendly duel would do her good,
Now that old injuries had healed like they should.
She smiled slightly and shifted into her stance,
Waiting for her opponent to begin this deadly dance.
It was a simple battle between friends,
With no goal of deadly ends.

A day to remember.
A fight to occur.
A saber as hot as an ember.
Only one could endure.
"Salutations." Vulpesen spoke.
"I've come to test my skills
Now surrender before your bones are broke,
Or I'll make sure that its your blood which spills."
With that he prepared.
His saber went to the ready.
Whether or not she survived, he hardly cared.
He'd just make sure that her chances were unsteady.

Walking the Path to Redemption
Lilythe smirk and raised her bow,
Her hand sliding back to draw her arrow.
She knew her chances of victory where grim,
And the light was growing dim,
But the vibrodagger in her boot,
Would serve just as well if she could no longer shoot.
She would not being dying today,
Atleast not if she had a say.

The bow said it all.
Talk was cheap.
And she wanted him to fall.
Still with every closing meter, his chances would lump.
This Vulpesen knew.
Of he got close enough she'd get a good bump
A jump and he flew,
An attack he hoped her bow it would shred.
Taking a dagger he gave it a fling
He shot it through the air.
And towards the bow's string.
If he took out that weapon, the battle would hardly be fair.

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
She saw his bold move,
And for a few minutes it threw off her groove,
But Lilythe thought fast and she moved even faster,
And lunged to the side like a proven master.
She rolled across the snowy ground,
And came to her feet as she swung back around.
She raised her bow swiftly,
And fired just as quickly.
She aimed for the spot where she assumed he'd fall,
And placed her shot with what seemed like no effort at all.

Well kark!
This lady with a plan!
The future seemed dark
Moments like these, he wished he would have just packed up and ran.
But his feet hit the street.
And his knees hit the air.
The arrow deflected just above his feet!
Vulpesen knew how to block not only with style but also with flair.
"Not quite." He declared.
I've three tricks more.
And three daggers were aired.
One to the left, the right, and the center if all went well, this girl would be no more.

Walking the Path to Redemption
Lilythe flung herself to the floor,
She wasn't about to let her life walk out the door.
She growled at the man,
He wasn't following her plan.
She got back to her feet,
Not wanting to continue simply lying in the street.
"I'm not yet done!" She called out in anger.
It was time to make this man see the real danger.
She grabbed another arrow,
And once again drew her bow.
The next shot be painful as can be,
For she had aimed it straight for his knee!

Sometimes a man need fall, sometimes he need stand.
Now he needed to leap.
So up he wen, waiting to land.
The arrow was painful but the wound was not deep.
His ankle was grazed
But he was far from done.
His voice now crazed.
Her body he'd now stun.
A mighty howl left his mouth.
Dangerous for sure.
Her focus would go south.
Now could she endure?

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
Lilythe heard his howl as it's force knocked her back,
And for that painful move she would cut him no slack!
"I will not back down!" She cried into the descending night,
For she was determined to put up a great fight.
She regained her feet,
Without missing a beat.
Ignoring the pain,
And making sure he had nothing to gain,
She focused her energy as he fell fast,
And sent towards him a great Force Blast.
Her aimed was to knock him off balance or at least make him unsteady,
So that for her next move he would not be ready!
[member="Darth Tsolan"]

It almost worked well.
It almost worked great.
But his pride had begun to swell.
And for that she almost sealed his fate.
Upwards he went.
But he need not that the dive
So more daggers he sent.
Three grounds their grand total being ten plus five.
Swarming towards her, they would start a retreat.
For he had not intention to lose.
This girl he would defeat.
Hopefully these blades would make quite a noose.

Walking the Path to Redemption
Lilythe felt one of the dagger cut her face,
And she dove forward into an empty space.
She threw her bow to the ground,
And swung back around.
She grabbed the knives from her belt,
And flung them towards him to make feel what she felt.
This battle was making her begin to tire,
But she continued do to a burning desire,
To come out on top.
She must not stop!
The archer kept herself moving,
Being a sitting duck would result in her losing.

A soldier who moves.
He who stands still.
His Valor he proves.
A target to kill.
His feet hit the dirt.
He rolled to a stand
But the dagger hit his shirt.
And it was heavier than sand.
Still, his armor he had.
His life he would keep.
Of his defense he could be glad.
The wound was painful, but far from deep.
Knife in his side.
Saber in hand.
He charged her with pride.
Closing between them, the distance of land.

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
Lilythe stepped to side to avoid his swift charging,
Reaching into her boots and setting her daggers vibrating!
She crossed them over each other and threw them in front of her face,
Before swiping his stroke away into empty space.
She spun on her heel,
Bringing her dagger around with zeal.
She swung and she slashed,
Hoping his bared stomach would be gashed.
[member="Darth Tsolan"]

She swirled and she dodged.
It seemed I was in trouble.
But into my body, the blade had yet to be lodged.
Not to simply pay back with double.
I leaped above the blades.
Mine turned into two.
With lucked her life would be that which fades.
And's she'd enter a ghostly crew.
A swirling strike.
It aimed for her torso.
Two blades, what else to like?
Was I in trouble? Yes, but she even more so."

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
She tired to leap away,
But luck was not with her this day.
One saber skimmed her arm,
Leaving a large burn to show it had caused harm.
She gasped in pain but refused to fall,
This battle would not be lost by her at all.
She took a large risk and stepped right up against him,
She knew she only had one shot and the chance of success looked slim.
She hooked her leg behind his and pushed with all her might,
Hoping he'd topple backwards in her sight.
[member="Darth Tsolan"]

He slipped and he fell.
But he'd been here before.
Her try had been well.
But he refused to stay on the floor.
His hands hit the ground.
His boot went for her chin.
If all went well, her blood would be found.
And it wouldn't be long for him to win.
The fight was nearing its end.
This much was clear.
No reinforcements to send.
Just him and her, clinging to life so dear.

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
His foot hit her jaw,
Knocking her back and rubbing her chin raw.
She rolled to her side and swung her leg around,
Hoping to sweep him back onto the ground.
She pulled herself back onto her feet,
And started to wonder if she would indeed be beat.
She growled as she stood,
Hoping she'd survive this like she should.
She raised her weapons and prepared to strike,
If she had her way she'd mount his head on a pike!
[member="Darth Tsolan"]

He spinning had uses, but not at the moment.
Too far he was and to calm was his mind.
Now time for her loss and time for her atonement.
In his side, her dagger he would fine.
Painful to take out.
But necessary for sure.
This blade would cause her to pout.
For his body was the perfect lure.
He waited for her advance.
The out the dagger went.
Towards her body it would lance.
For through a great use of the force it was sent!

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
She cried out in pain as the dagger tore through her,
The blinding fury she felt was matched by no other.
Blood flowed from her wound as she tried to stay grounded.
The strike would not kill her but damn did it leave her dumbfounded.
She made one last attempt to end this fight,
And flung her last knife with all of her might.
She watched it fly,
As a single tear of pain slide from her eye.
[member="Darth Tsolan"]

The dagger flew, end of end.
However, my body was shielded
And I had means to defend.
I lifted my arm to the blade that was wielded.
A clink and it fell to the ground.
He was safe and alive.
The mark as not found.
He took his saber for to victory he'd strive.
"Do you yield?"
The words came fiercely.
A defensive shield.
If she wanted to live, she best take them seriously.
