Hoth System, Hoth
1349 hours, Old Ruins of Echo Base
Solan smiled as the sounds of ships and machinery roared around him, the sound echoing across the ground around him as frozen tornadoes and frost bitten winds cut into his face and clothing. It didn't bother him so much, the thermal suit as well as his own abilities in tapas kept him warm enough in the frozen landscape that Hoth presented to those that came to its surface. The winds only made worse by the transport vessels that landed around him as he stood there looking with excitement at the restoration and improvements made to the once long ago Rebel Alliance Base.
They were not hear to excavate and repair the base though, nor to see it remembered in the way it had once been. The Rebel alliance of long ago meant freedom to those they fought for, to those they represented and that was why Solan had chosen this place in which to set up the new capital compound of the Confederacy of the Outer Rim. He saw it as a way to express the views of the Confederacy in a way that he could not do so in words, to take up residence of a long forgotten cause and base as a way to show your own intentions was... in his mind the best held plan that he could come up with at the time.
It took more than that though and Solan would have to deal with further explanations of this new government's purpose but for now came the construction of the base itself. He had reached out to open channels, speaking on them in a way that went simply as follows. The words he had spoken being, 'The Confederacy of the Outer Rim is in need of the help of the free people of the galaxy or those whom desire freedom. It seeks not to be conquerors but rather liberators for those that require such and guardians for those whom are already free.'
It wasn't much of a message but a good grouping of people whom had taken to the message were here already, any others that came would likely be stragglers or agents of other governments throughout the galaxy that are curious of this new Confederacy. Solan would welcome them all the same, he had nothing to hide at this time and was curious to see just whom would heed such a message and arrive in curiosity of its speaker.
