Tristram Senan
Call me Nighthawk
The ship was going along its course smoothly. At least it wasn't an old junker about to fall apart like some folk in the slaver business used. Eventually desperate ship captains would resort to slavery as a quick credit sort of deal and either repair or replace their clunkers. Not this crew though, but it did remind Tristram of something that needed to be checked up on. " Ms. Talaya of Beautiful Eyes, check to make sure we aren't transmitting any kind of signal. Sometimes these slavery ships have a tracker going at all times so employers like Jooru can keep tabs on every move they make and find any lost 'goods.' I don't think we want them hunting us and the folk back there down after we land." It was at times like this he wished he was better at techy stuff, but it was just not his talent. He still got on his own systems to check for a signal though just to have an extra pair of eyes on things.
As Tristram looked for a signal, he said, " From what I saw today, you do like sneaking around and sticking your neck out for others. I do too. Got myself caught on purpose so I could do what we just did. Not just hutts and criminals that oppress and exploit others though. You have Imperials, Sith, monarchs, dictators, companies, cults. The list just goes on and on. Easier to list the symptoms of it all than to list the groups that can cause it. Even Jedi are capable of oppressing and exploiting." He was finding nothing so far. Still he needed to keep at it until either he found it or [member="Talaya Rade"] did. Could be there wasn't one too, but it was always better to be cautious than foolish.
Continuing on, Tristram said, " It is less of a group and more of an Order. The Order of the Nighthawk to be precise. A bit of vanity in the naming I know, but it gets the point across. Right now the Order is just me as the only active member but I have a lot of contacts and associates across the Galaxy. They feed me useful info, I pay them if that is the price they want, and then I go do something about what I find out. Nothing too formal. The whole goal of the Order is to bring freedom to those who are oppressed and exploited. Outside of that it doesn't matter to me how it gets achieved so long as innocents don't suffer for it. Been called a criminal, vigilante, and terrorist before." It all wasn't sounding that fabulous right now, and it wasn't a fabulous job. He was being realistic about it because only those who could stand in the face of reality could hope to incite change. After not finding the signal at all and figuring either his terrible skill with tech was why or that it just didn't exist, he said to her, " It is hard and not rewarding in any material way. Before you say anything though, go back into the hold and see what the results of this kind of work looks like. You will find your answer there for sure."
