LFG A Secret Society of the Rich and Powerful

Before I begin, I should say this is mostly a murky idea.

My character is a 600-700 (ambiguous) years old, and he's in his "push the bounds of technology" era. What does he want? He wants to rebuild planets, create new methods of travel besides hyperspace, and the biggest one ofc is reverse-engineering the barrier that prevents intergalactic travel. All of this of course could be done independently but where's the fun in that? Why not create an informal/formal network of the rich and powerful that secretly uses their influence to direct events.

Instigating wars, strip mining planets, the whole shebang. Everything it does in the quiet background in pursuit of some goal they will, practically, never reach but will come tantalizing close to.

I imagine a group such as this could possibly even spur some new ideas in the factory and codex, and the like. Something niche and cool. The Illuminati of Star Wars, kinda sorta.

Feel free to help me expand on this idea, or even tell me why it wouldn't work or what it'd need. I'm open to any and all criticism.

Ohh this should be interesting.

The idea is fun and sasori can supply when you get to the other galaxies. We have built mints for converting galactic currencies to the resident galaxies for ease of trade.

You absolutely have to set up a shadowy chamber for people to holocall into. It'd also be a great opportunity to develop some really heavily encrypted long-distance Comms so your Illuminati can convene and scheme behind the scenes wherever they might dream to do so.

Also if I may make a proposal, the Exchange is trying to form itself into a subfaction-friendly enterprise you may want to consider. We're looking to form a "Gotra Council" system to accommodate them. I could see a conspiracy of the rich and powerful seeking power in such an organization.

Honestly speaking, I've never actually heard of the Star Cabal prior to this and it seems pretty cool.

As I mentioned above, I think this would be a sorta Star Cabal type thing.

I could see this group pretty much having tendrils in all the major factions and it could certainly be something different than the same, tired old tropes like the hidden Sith in the Senate.
