A quiet Mind and a still Heart

Vengeance sighed. Ever since Anya had made her announcement he hadn't been able to train like he wanted to.........himself or her. It was really starting to annoy him and make him irritable.

So here he was kneeling in the cargo hold trying to center himself. Unchecked emotion was a dangerous thing it made people rash, unpredictable, and clumsy. All were things he didn't want to be...........didn't need to be.

Eyes closed he let the Force flow through him like a gentle breeze his mind on soothing things................well things he found soothing. Things he enjoyed. The thrill of the hunt, the chaos of battle, the passion in the spoils of victory. All things like a gentle breeze flowed through his thoughts.

Life...since she had dropped her little shell had been...odd? The training that both usually did didn't happen not even with the force...which she usually mediated on to keep a clear mind

However she noticed her master was...growing more and more irritable, she knew it had to be her why else would he be upset, she slowly moved into the cargo hold and stopped, he was mediating she stopped but soon moved slowly by him, she wasn't showing yet, she sat down and owed her eyes mediating with him, she found when she mediated she was growing closer to the dark side of the force...and enjoyed the feelimg

Vengeance didn't open his eyes but did speak after Anya settled down.

"Can I help you Apprentice?"

His voice was calm and even. His time in exile making it very hard to break his meditation unless he wanted you to.

"It is not wise to interrupt someone's meditation..............especially when that person is stronger than you."

Vengeance smirked slightly before opening his eyes and looking at her.

[member="Anya Loma"]

She gave a slight smile

Simply mediating by you

She said as she moved away a little to give him some space, the last thing she wanted to do was anger hin at all

I don't wish to break your mediation and I can leave if you want me to...so you won't have to use that strength to remove me

She said and opened her eyes to look up at him

Though...I did have a question to ask

Vengeance smirked actually amused at the thought.

"So what you are saying is you know better than I do what you are ready for?"

Anya still managed to fail the most important lesson he had been trying to teach her all along. A skill more important than saber skill, more important than Force training. It was something he was destined to run into incessantly trying to teach a new generation how to survive and flourish in a Galaxy where borders and battle lines no longer existed. However like him she needed to be constantly honing her skills.

Vengeance chuckled when Anya got pale.

"It is almost too easy to be worth it."

He took a breath.

"Ok so you want to learn the Force." "Ok I have something I think will be fun."

Vengeance looked around before finding a simple fist sized crystal from his trip to Dagobah so long ago. Most people used them it sabers...........Vengeance at one point may have if not for the fact it was the only thing he had that reminded him of Melori.

The crystal floated in the air over between them.

"A basic idea...........telekinesis..........focus through the Force and keep it in the air." "If it touches the ground you fail." "It breaks.........................."

He didn't finish the sentence.

[member="Anya Loma"]

She looked to him and let a breath out

She watched him as she saw the crystal, it looked amazing just like what was within her Saber she had, she looked to him as she reached out, she held it in the air as she closed her eyes focusing the firce, by now, she had a kinda sold idea on how to use the force

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance watched her.

"The Force is limitless................we however are not." "So things take little effort and other things a great deal of effort." "The key is start small and work you way up."

Vengeance stood and began circling her.

"Concentration but awareness." "Battle is chaotic..............fast...........and at times unpredictable." "Put too much focus on one thing and something else will in turn bite you in the back side."

He chuckled.

"Plus it puts no stress on the baby." "Now I want you to hold up this crystal exactly a foot off the ground...............no higher and no lower."

[member="Anya Loma"]

She listned as he walked around her, her mind taking every word in, there was a difference between when they first met and now, she had learned to listen to every word, take it in and if need be follow every word

She opened her eyes slowly, she started moving the crystal down, about a foot...but it may be off by a half inch..without a tool to measure she was not sure

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance watched her with a smile.

"Good good now let's see how well you can maintain focus."

Vengeance took a heavy book and slowly placed it on top of Anya's head. One of two things would happen. Either she would be able to keep her focus on the crystal or she would lose the focus and the crystal would fall.

[member="Anya Loma"]

She let a breath out hearing she was doing good however she felt the book and she slightly frowned, then gasped as the crystal dropped, before it could hit nearly a hair pin away, it stopped and raised back up again floating a foot from the ground as if it hadn't just been dropped

She let anther breath out focusing again despite the weight

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance shook his head when the crystal dropped.

"Your focus needs more focus." "Lesson failed."

Vengeance reached out in the Force and yanked the crystal away pulling it into his own hand.

"This crystal was acquired on Dagobah on the day I met my Fiancee. It is irreplaceable to me as the only remaining memory of the woman is made me what I am today. In death she lives on through the memory of that trip. A memory you almost let hit the ground and break."

He sighed moving over and returning the crystal to it's resting place before turning back to her.

"The Force is about control.........lose control and it will consume you............if your enemy doesn't destroy you first."

[member="Anya Loma"]

She winced as she heard those words

I..I'm sorry

She said as it was yanked away and she turned to him head bowed as she listned to him, she hadn't known he at one time had been engaged, she bowed her head further in shame as she had almost let it break

I am sorry sir I didn't know, please forgive me

She kept her head bowed

I..I understand sir...I shall not lose control again, no...I won't lose control again ever...

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance sighed.

"Yes you will.............we all do. What matters is what you do when it happens."

Vengeance knelt down in front of her.

"Do you remember what I told you about your training? I wold teach you how to survive without the Force and then teach you to use the Force responsibly. In a manner that made sure if you found yourself fighting a stronger person you would be able to handle it."

Vengeance pulled the book to his hand letting it over exactly a foot off the ground. It hung there as if it was sitting on an invisible shelf. As he did he began pulling other things around him from the room. Each time they joined the book and the book never even twitched until there were five things hanging in the air between them.

[member="Anya Loma"]

She was surprised as she looked up and listned to him, instead of being chided...instead he said it will haponed...she understood

She watched him kneel down as she was face to face with him

Yes sir I remeber6, you taught me to fight without it

She looked to the book, watching in awe as five objects came to sit with the book.floating
[member="Vengeance"]

The objects slowly began to float down onto the floor resting in between the two of them.

"Focus requires constant meditation." "When I was a young Acolyte I would meditate as much as twelve hours a day." "Especially during the long hyper trips to the next battle."

Vengeance smiled.

"It is okay and expected to be nervous and even scared before battle." "Anyone who tells you otherwise is either stupid or telling a lie." "It is what you do with that fear that matters."

[member="Anya Loma"]

She watched the objects as they rested on the ground

12 hours?....I should live by example since I have so much free time do to...the baby

She grinned at him

If I fear it i must iver come it, and if it fears me I must suppress it so it can not over come me and have a chance to defeat me

She said in verse looking at him
